like, I live in a rather small town. with literally nothing to do unless I drive a good fifteen-twenty minutes away. which, would be where the nearest mall and everything is. but even the malls is boring. everything’s pretty much shut down. it’s not safe to walk in it alone. or any stores for that matter. gas is not cheap. what do you want us to do? go wander around Walmart ? go to the same fast food places we’ve hung out at and stared at the same walls, with basically the same people, since they’ve been around. you want us to go walk in the park — which by the way ISNT. SAFE. EITHER. I am a young adult, and again … wouldn’t go alone.
then, there’s the argument of the movies. which is dandy, sure. but movie tickets aren’t cheap. refreshments aren’t cheap. none of it is cheap. this isn’t the old days where you can trust anyone and everyone. where you have you’re local diner you can go sit out and have conversation. where you can ride around and burn gas in your car. trust me, I would love to get out. there’s just nothing to do and this economy is too expensive. we’re really all just trying here, folks.
“kids spend too much time on their devices” well what else are they supposed to do? there’s no corner shops with pinball machines in them on every corner anymore. there’s no malls or stores in small towns for teens to hang out in without being suspected of shoplifting or kicked out for loitering. sidewalks are too broken for them to ride their bikes and there’s no bike lane in the street to make it safe for them. i just don’t understand where they expect these kids to go when they keep taking places away from them. and yes having no safe public places for them is what leads a lot of teens into addiction if they end up at a place where people aren’t truly looking out for them.
That dance sequence was actually EVERYTHING. So camp. So random but so PERFECTLY fitting at the same time. Kept rewinding and pausing on each frame giggling and kicking my feet. Can we get MORE of these type of scenes from now on I'm straight up obsessed with it
