A set of spooky Sylvanian Families critters, just in time for Halloween!
I was working on making a whole haunted house for them like the other two custom houses I made but ran out of time to finish it. Maybe next year!

if i ever post a clean, finished looking drawing that is NOT me.. block and report
Cut mat board to fit drawers. Paint edges with acrylic dark brown paint. Glue paper drawer fronts to dry matboard with glue stick.
Wrap rectangle in thin wood grain paper. I printed the birch bark and birch sticks. Attach with glue stick.
Make top from cardboard. Be sure you have an overhang all around the dresser. Wrap in wood grain paper. Attach to base with tacky glue. Add support piece inside to keep its shape.
Attach drawer fronts with tacky glue.
Attach small pieces of stick for drawer pulls.
Attach birch sticks to edges for table legs/trim.
Tip: Do not use tape on the printed paper. Some came off when I removed the tape. I repaired one area with paper and the other area with soft pastels.

As dusk approached, Rutledge hurried home, wondering if the mushrooms he saw were there before or had recently appeared, much like how they were described in a poem he had come across:
“Overnight, very Whitely, discreetly, Very quietly
Our toes, our noses Take hold on the loam, Acquire the air.
Nobody sees us, Stops us, betrays us; The small grains make room.
Soft fists insist on Heaving the needles, The leafy bedding,
Even the paving. Our hammers, our rams, Earless and eyeless,
Perfectly voiceless, Widen the crannies, Shoulder through holes. We
Diet on water, On crumbs of shadow, Bland-mannered, asking
Little or nothing. So many of us! So many of us!
We are shelves, we are Tables, we are meek, We are edible,
Nudgers and shovers In spite of ourselves. Our kind multiplies:
We shall by morning Inherit the earth. Our foot's in the door.”

Bonus glow in the dark kitty
I haven’t gotten out my Pullip dolls to play with in a while so I think that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend. The dolly below is one I made from one of the Pullip MIO kits. I’ve made and customized lots of Pullips over the years but this was the doll I first tried carving the face on, and the first time I made a mohair wig (which I’m still pretty bad at but this didn’t turn out too badly).
Once I was done working on this doll I fell in love with how cute and sweet the face ended up being and couldn’t part with her so I named her Colette and kept her all for myself🥰
