Secrets

Pairing: Dh!Master x Reader

Word Count: 4900

Summary: The Doctor and the fam are hanging out on the TARDIS one day when they realise they haven’t seen you or The Master all day, none of them quite expect the sight that greets them when they find you.

Warnings: none

A/N: Reader is gender neutral in this. Also yay! I finally have time to write and post! I have a lot of fics planned, so hopefully I’ll be able to find the time to write them over winter break, tho I do have a shit ton of uni work still to do 😅

Secrets

It was quiet, that wasn’t completely unusual on the TARDIS, but considering the recent addition of The Master to Team TARDIS it had The Doctor on edge. He’d begrudgingly joined them on their adventures after The Doctor had come across him moping about at the edge of a deserted galaxy, The Master hadn’t even been destroying anything, he was just sitting all alone on what he’d called an unimportant planet. The Doctor, of course, had been concerned by his uncharacteristic behaviour and had forced encouraged him to join them aboard the TARDIS. Understandably, her fam had objected, especially after he started to occupy himself by finding as many ways to inconvenience her friends as possible.

It had been eight months since The Master had joined them, and he had yet to stop annoying Graham, Ryan and Yaz - despite the numerous interventions and talks she had had with him about it. Much to The Doctor’s surprise, she never found you complaining about The Master’s antics, though she had suspected that he had developed a bit of a soft spot for you. After all, you had been the first out of her friends to welcome him - probably helped by the fact that you joined the group after The Master revealed himself, and thus only met him eight months back.

Recently The Doctor realised that she’d grown used to this new normal, that she was used to the occasional yelling of her friends after The Master had yet again hid half of their clothes, or simply jump-scared them - often accompanied by The Master’s maniacal laughter. However, she had yet to hear anything like that this morning, not one complaint about missing items from her fam, not one cackle out of The Master, she hadn’t even seen anyone all morning.

It was almost peaceful.

Which definitely meant that something was wrong.

Quickly The Doctor got up, abandoned her tools, and headed in the direction of the kitchen. It was about lunchtime, which meant that her friends would probably be gathered together making food, she just hoped that one of them would have seen The Master. Of course, she’d usually just ask the TARDIS where he was, but the circuits she’d been upgrading were the internal communication circuits, so that was currently out of the question.

“FAM!” The Doctor exclaimed as soon as she rounded the corner, standing dramatically in the doorway to the kitchen.

All of her friends had startled as soon as she appeared, it made her feel bad, but she currently had more pressing matters to focus on.

“Have any of you seen The Master today?!”

“…uh, no?” Ryan was the first to answer, still looking a little shocked from her entrance but trying to play it cool.

Graham took a dramatic sigh before answering, “Not yet luckily.”

“I haven’t either, why’re you asking?” Yaz replied, pausing making her lunch and turning all of her attention to The Doctor.

“It’s quiet, too quiet, and I haven’t seen him since last night. Which most likely means that he’s up to something.”

Graham groaned, “Why do we have to assume he’s up to something? Can’t we at least wait until after lunch to assume he’s doing something evil?”

The Doctor simply gave him a look, causing him to groan again, though he put his sandwich down. However she was quickly distracted by a nagging feeling in the back of her mind, she was missing something, something obvious. She looked back at her friends, and then she realised.

“Where’s Y/N?”

Her friends seemed to only notice your absence once it was pointed out, all looking around the room before looking back at The Doctor with blank faces.

“I haven’t seen them since last night.” Yaz told her.

“Me neither.” Ryan and Graham agreed with her.

Suddenly The Doctor felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. You were clearly The Master’s favourite out of the fam, what if he’d done something to you? Naively, The Doctor had hoped he was developing a soft spot for you - but what if it was simply an obsession? What if this had been his plan all along, to get close enough to harm you?

The fam seemed to come to a similar conclusion, horror dawning on all their faces.

“You don’t think-“

The Doctor didn’t give Ryan an answer, just turned around and ran through the TARDIS halls. She’d been at the TARDIS console most of the night, so at least she knew the two of you were still on board. Her first instinct was to head to the library, both you and The Master spent a fair amount of time there, it would have been the perfect place for an ambush.

The Doctor slowed once she entered the library, and she could hear the footsteps of her fam slow down as well. The library was surprisingly quiet as well, but The Doctor was still on edge. The fam followed her and she weaved her way through the aisles, coming to a sudden stop right before the rows of bookshelves gave way to one of the reading areas.

Nothing could have prepared her for the sight that greeted them. On one of the plush purple sofas The Master was laying down, fast asleep. That in itself would have been enough to shock The Doctor. However he wasn’t alone, you were laying next to him, curled into his side and fast asleep as well.

Huh.

The Doctor had known that The Master was developing a soft spot for you, but she definitely didn’t suspect anything like this. It was almost cute.

“Are they- Are they actually cuddling?” Graham was the first to speak, slightly startling the rest of them despite his voice being barely above a whisper.

“Uhhh… yeah, certainly seems like it.”

“Does anyone else think this is horrifying yet adorable?” Yaz queried, gaining agreement from the rest of them. “Glad it’s not just me.”

“What do we do? Do we wake them up?” Ryan asked.

“Yeah, what if he’s done that hypno- whatsit on Y/N?” Graham butted in.

“Hypnotism, I mean it would be a very odd thing to hypnotise Y/N to do, but we can’t rule it out I suppose.” The Doctor’s thoughts were zipping around in her brains, desperately trying to find all the signs she missed.

And there was so much she missed.

The Master’s ‘practical jokes’ had been lessening lately - both in frequency and maliciousness. The Doctor had chalked this up to him finally starting to settle in properly, but maybe that was the result of him spending more time with you? She hadn’t seen you around as much either, but with four humans plus The Master on board, she had hardly noticed. Then, the most obvious, there was the fact that the two of you had started to pair off more on adventures. Honestly, she had just thought that you were becoming good friends!

Maybe you were just friends? After all, friends were allowed to hug each other. Sure, the position you were in definitely leant more towards romantic entanglement rather than platonic, but that didn’t always mean something.

Just when The Doctor was about to reply, she and the fam were distracted by movement on the couch. You stretched slightly, but then snuggled even closer to The Master, your face smushing into his neck as you smiled. In turn The Master hummed contentedly, somehow bringing you even closer and wrapping his arms around you protectively. The Doctor could have sworn she saw a smile on his face.

Okay, probably not just friends.

The Doctor didn’t know what to do, she hadn’t considered this possibility. Regrettably, she was not prepared for The Master being romantically involved with you at all, which meant that she needed time to think. Putting a finger up to her lips, she turned to her companions and gestured for them to return the way they had came. For now, you and The Master had no clue that the rest of them knew about whatever was going on between the two of you. So, she had time to think, to observe the two of you, to find out if he was hypnotising or manipulating you, or if whatever this was was something genuine on both your parts.

Once they were back out in the hallway The Doctor explained everything to the other members of the fam, all of them agreeing to keep an eye on the two of you. The Doctor then walked off back to the console room, she needed to be alone with her thoughts for a little while.

——

You were warm and cosy, that was what you registered first. Of course, it wasn’t unusual to be warm and cosy when you woke up, but these days it was a new constant in your life, all because of one (alien) man. The Master.

When he had come onboard the TARDIS eight months ago you, you would have never imagined how your relationship developed. He’d pissed you off at first, especially since most of his ‘pranks’ had been directed at you. Once he had decided to take all of your jumpers and hoodies, just after you had returned from a particularly frosty adventure in Antarctica, causing you to confront him.

“You!” You sneered accusingly at The Master, who was lounged on one of the sofas in the library.

He placed his book down and raised an eyebrow, “Can I help you?”

“Give me my jumpers and hoodies back, now.” You tried to sound demanding, but you were still shivering from the lingering cold.

“No.” He smirked at you.

“No? What do you mean no?! I’m cold! I need layers to keep warm!” You pouted at him, unable to keep up the scary demeanour.

He chuckled slightly, “Well, that’s easily solved.” And then he lifted up the blanket that was laying over him and shuffled to make room for you.

You simply stood there in shock, not quite believing that The Master of all beings was inviting you to cuddle with him!

“Come on love, if you stand there any longer you’ll probably end up freezing to death.”

Hesitantly, you stepped closer and closer to the sofa, until you were stood inches from The Master, looking down at him. He offered his hand to you, and you gave him yours in turn. Then, slowly, he pulled you down into his hold, and covered you with the blanket. With his warmth enveloping you, you soon stopped shivering, though you didn’t leave him.

After that, cuddles in the TARDIS library became a regular for the two of you, soon turning into cuddles and kisses in your respective bedrooms, sneakily holding hands on adventures, and being there for one another behind closed doors. You loved him, not that you had told him yet, but you truly did.

Part of your hesitancy towards telling him was due to the fact that you were still keeping your relationship hidden from your friends. It wasn’t as though you didn’t want to tell your friends, you just didn’t know how to tell them, and you were scared for their reactions.

Pushing those thoughts to the back of your mind you stretched and finally opened your eyes. Your first sight was The Master, still asleep, and you took a moment to appreciate him. Then you took in your surroundings and your heart leapt in your chest as you realised you had fallen asleep in the library, where anyone could have walked in.

“Master.” You shook him slightly.

He woke with a questioning hum, sleepy eyes looking at you with curiosity.

“We fell asleep in the library.” You half-whispered.

“…And?” The Master replied.

“Anyone could have walked in and seen us!”

“Mm, but they didn’t love, otherwise we would have been woken up.” He told you, his voice still rough from sleep, as he pulled you closer again.

You didn’t reply, instead giving him a worried look. He sighed and sat up, moving you with him.

“It’ll be okay love,” He cupped your face with both his hands, observing you until he seemed satisfied that you believed his words - and you did believe him, even if you needed a little reassurance sometimes.

The Master smiled at you, “Come on, shower and breakfast is in order.”

“More like brunch by now.” You retorted, checking your phone to see that it was already past 11am.

The Master chuckled and lead you out of the library.

——

In the past week, nothing out of the ordinary had happened, at least nothing that was out of the ordinary for your life. A couple of trips back in time, a couple adventures on distant planets, an ungodly amount of running, and sneaking into The Master’s bedroom once your friends had gone to sleep each night. Yep, completely ordinary week for you.

Which is why your friends’ strange behaviour made absolutely no sense.

You couldn’t quite explain it, but they’d been acting weird around you, jumpy as though they were keeping something from you. However there weren’t any holidays coming up and your birthday had already passed this year, so their weird behaviour was worrying you.

You’d tried asking all of them about it individually, The Doctor had pretended not to hear while doing some engineering on the TARDIS, and the other three had come up with various excuses that you didn’t believe. It frustrated you that something was wrong but they weren’t willing to tell you. Luckily, you still had one person on the TARDIS who wasn’t acting weird around you.

You knocked on The Master’s door and let yourself in. His living space was becoming one of your favourite rooms on the TARDIS, it had dark wood panelled walls and an overall regal look with lots of purple accents. There was also a lot of clutter, mostly little projects and pieces for said projects. Occasionally you’d ask him about whatever he was working on, and he’d talk you through his whole process (secretly you’d only ask him to hear his voice, but he didn’t need to know that). He’d also gotten used to you being in his rooms, hence why you walked right in.

The Master was sat on his couch, reading a book that he placed on an end table once he saw you.

“Hello, love.” He grinned at you, making room for you to sit down next to him.

“Hello Master,” You smiled at him, cuddling into his chest as he wrapped an arm around you.

He hummed and nuzzled your neck, “How are you today, my darling?”

The combination of the pet name and him speaking so close to your ear caused you to shiver. It almost got rid of the knot of worry that had nestled itself in you, almost. The Master seemed to notice something was wrong, as he pulled back slightly so he could look at you properly.

“Have you noticed the others being kind of… off, this week?” You queried, not quite knowing how to word it.

“Quite honestly love, I don’t pay much attention to anyone else on this ship.” He smirked, and you rolled your eyes.

“You and I both know that’s not true, you may not like Ryan, Graham or Yaz, but they’re still my friends - which means you still keep an eye on them at the very least.” You retorted.

“Mmm, you know me so well.” He leaned in to kiss your cheek, causing you to relax further into him.

It had surprised you, at first, just how physically affectionate The Master was. You’d assumed after the first cuddle session that it would be a one off, that he’d kill you if you ever mentioned it to anyone (not that they’d believe you), but he’d only gotten more and more cuddly as your relationship had grown.

“Okay, yes, I have noticed they were behaving stranger than usual this week. I’d just assumed it was something to do with me, and I didn’t care enough to find out what.”

“Definitely not just you, they’ve been weird around me too. I tried to ask them what was wrong but they all made up little excuses and scurried off. The Doctor even pretended she didn’t hear me!” You exclaimed gesturing wildly, “I just- they’re my friends, and I’ve obviously done something to upset them, but I don’t know what!”

You flopped back into The Master’s hold and sighed, for a moment he simply held you close, rubbing circles on your back.

“Look, whatever it is they’ll probably get over it soon enough. It can’t be that bad if they’re still talking to you.” He reassured you, already helping you feel much calmer than you had all week.

“But, what if they found out about us somehow?”

“The Doctor probably would have kicked me off the TARDIS already love, and your friends would have helped her.” You glared at him, unamused.

“No they wouldn’t, I wouldn’t let them.”

The Master’s expression softened.

“Of course not love, I’m just teasing. I’m sure that whatever it is will be forgotten about soon enough.”

“Hopefully.”

“In the meantime, would it perhaps help if I could take your mind off them for a while?” The Master suggested, leaning in to kiss you again.

“Hmm, I think it might.” You replied with a giggle, kissing him back eagerly.

——

As The Master had predicted, your friends soon went back to normal. You still had no clue what had caused their strange behaviour, but you didn’t bring it up again. Instead you focused on your adventures and your relationship with The Master, separately of course.

After a few rather hectic adventures, The Doctor had decided that you all needed a bit of a break, in the form of a 38th century cruise spaceship. The Doctor had explained that there were many fun activities taking place on the cruise, but the main one was the ball. An evening of dancing, eating and socialising to help you and the rest of the fam relax a bit.

You were all looking forward to it, and you could tell The Master was excited too - not that he acted like it. Sometimes you thought he tried a little too hard to protect his reputation, but then you remembered just how lucky you were that he allowed you to see the real him when so many others were denied the chance.

Currently, you were in the TARDIS wardrobe getting ready for the ball with the others. You had elected to wear a simple black suit with a dark purple lining and accents, partially because you liked the look of it, and partially because you thought it would go with whatever The Master decided to wear. You may be hiding your relationship from your friends, but you still wanted the subtle sign that he was yours (and you were his in turn). Exiting your dressing room you smiled at Graham and The Doctor, both wearing suits as well.

“Nice suit, it suits you!” The Doctor told you, looking very pleased with her terrible pun.

You rolled your eyes and huffed out a laugh while Graham simply groaned. Ryan exited next, wearing a suit as well, tho it had a neon-coloured cubic pattern speckled over it. Then The Master exited.

He was wearing a black suit as well, though it had flowers embroidered in dark grey thread on it. He’d paired it with a reddish-purple waistcoat, a matching bow tie, and a dark grey shirt. He looked stunning, and in that moment you found yourself yearning for the freedom of a more public relationship, simply so you could tell him just how good you thought he looked. Instead you raked your eyes over his body and gave him an appreciative look, knowing he’d understand.

To your surprise he seemed to do the same to you, his eyes studying your appearance in a way that made you blush slightly, and giving you a far more suggestive look than you had given him. He was usually very subtle about your relationship, especially in front of The Doctor, but you weren’t going to complain in this moment.

Just then Yaz walked out of her dressing room, though your eyes lingered on The Master for a few moments longer. Taking advantage of the distraction, The Master winked at you, causing you to grin coyly before finally turning your attention to Yaz.

She was wearing a lovely rose gold coloured dress, it wasn’t overly flashy or attention grabbing, but you knew she’d still get a fair amount of admiration at the ball (though you suspected most of that would come from The Doctor).

The Doctor soon lead you all out of the wardrobe into the console room, piloting to your destination. You gazed in awe at the ship once the doors opened, it was decorated in a baroque-esque style and almost made you feel as though you didn’t quite belong in the ship. Still, you followed The Doctor through the hallways until you came to the ballroom. It was stunning, the room itself had the same baroque-esque look to it, though it was even more extravagant. Instinctively, you looked back to The Master and grinned, gaining a soft smile in return.

“Alright fam, all the food and drink should be good for human consumption - but if you’re unsure just ask! Let’s say two hours of mingling, then we’ll reconvene back here?” The Doctor addressed you all, gaining agreement before everyone started to dart off in different directions.

You had hoped that you would get some time alone with The Master, unfortunately it seemed that Yaz had other ideas as she invited you over to the bar with her to get some drinks.

An hour later you had finally managed to ditch your friends, it wasn’t as though you didn’t like hanging out with them - of course you did - but at an event like this you’d rather spend time with your partner. Once you found him you felt yourself relax, previously unaware of how tense you’d been without him. Larger social gatherings like this definitely made you anxious, but having The Master by your side helped a lot, mostly because you knew he’d never let anything bad happen to you.

He smiled at you and then nodded his head to the entrance. Intrigued, you followed him as he lead you out of the ballroom.

“Where are we going, Master?” You queried, grabbing a hold of his hand.

“You’ll see.”

Eventually the two of you came to another ballroom, though it was completely empty. There was a layer of dust over every surface, giving you the impression that this room hadn’t been used in a long time. The distant music from the party echoed through the halls into the ballroom giving it a haunted feel, but not a creepy kind of haunted, mor like the sort of haunted feeling you got from a placed that had so clearly been loved once, as though that love and warmth was still living in the walls.

After looking around the room you turned back to The Master, only to find him stood with one hand behind his back and the other stretched out towards you.

“Care to dance, my love?” He asked you charmingly, causing you to blush wildly.

“Of course, Master.” You replied, taking his hand eagerly and grinning.

He pulled you in close and began to guide you through a waltz, in time with the music from the ballroom. In that moment you felt as though you could spend the rest of your life with him, even if it was just the two of you alone in the universe, you’d always feel content by his side. That realisation seemed to finally give you the boost of confidence you had needed.

“I love you.”

The Master stopped dancing, looking at you with a mix of shock and awe.

“What?”

“I love you, Master. You don’t have to say it back, I just wanted you to know.” You told him truthfully.

“I love you too, so much.” He replied, grinning wide with tears in his eyes.

The Master leant in to kiss you, and your lips met his halfway. You’d kissed him hundreds of times before, but this time felt different, it felt perfect. The two of you started dancing again, still keeping in time with the music but completely lost in each other’s presence. The Master moved his arm around your waist, you rested your head on his shoulder and let the world fall away around the two of you.

——

The Doctor had been keeping a close eye on both you and The Master in the past few weeks, and to her surprise she had seen nothing sinister, nothing potentially dangerous. In fact, all she had seen was subtle glances and secretive smiles between the two of you, she’d caught both of you looking at the other while they were distracted, and neither of you had anything but love to look at each other with. On one occasion she’d even seen the two of you holding hands when faced with a particularly terrifying enemy!

The Doctor had known The Master for nearly his whole life, and therefore always knew that he had a softer side to him. What she never expected was for him to develop feelings for a human, considering his general hatred of Earth’s sentient inhabitants. She’d had her reservations at first, knowing full well that whatever was going on between the two of you could just be another one of his schemes. However, given how secretive the two of you were, and all the little interactions she’d witnessed, The Doctor believed that The Master had genuine feelings for you.

Nevertheless, The Doctor had continued to keep on the eye on the two of you - just in case. Therefore, she noticed pretty quickly when the both of you disappeared from the ballroom. At the end of the day The Master was still The Master, no matter how much progress he had seemed to make these past few months. Luckily, the rest of her fam had noticed your disappearances as well.

“Come on fam.” The Doctor started to lead the way out of the ballroom.

“Doc, are you sure we should go looking for them, I mean what if they’re, y’know…” Graham asked, looking rather uncomfortable.

“Snogging?” Ryan snickered.

“Yes, we should, because there’s still a chance that Y/N could be in danger.”

The Doctor continued on through the halls, looking through each of the rooms to see if she could find the two of you. Finally, she came to another ballroom and was surprised by the sight of the two of you slow dancing in each other’s arms.

Well, at least you weren’t in danger.

It seemed that she had sped off a bit too quickly, as Ryan, Graham and Yaz soon came jogging up behind her, startling both you and The Master (who hadn’t noticed her approach). For a few moments everyone stood and stared at each other in complete silence, no one knowing quite what to do. The Master still had his arms around your waist, and The Doctor could see that he tightened his grip on you, as though he was afraid you’d be taken from him.

You coughed, gaining everyone’s attention, “So, uhhh..”

“You two are together?” Yaz asked.

You looked to The Master and smiled softly, getting a small smile in return. “Yeah, we are.”

There was another moment of awkward silence before you spoke up again. “Wait, none of you seem surprised?”

“We caught you two sleeping on one of the library couches a couple weeks back.” Ryan told you, causing you to playfully hit The Master’s arm.

“I told you!”

The Master rolled his eyes, “How was I supposed to know? I was asleep as well!” He laughed along with you.

“Is that why you were all acting weird around us?” You queried.

“Yeah, sorry about that cockle, it was just a bit of a shock is all. Still is to be honest!” Graham chuckled, putting all of you at ease.

“How long have the two of you been together anyway?” Yaz asked.

“Uhh, just over four months now - right?” The Master nodded in response to your question.

“How did you two manage to keep it a secret for so long?” Ryan exclaimed.

“Lots of sneaking around, though it does help when your partner has alien hearing that’s at least 10 times better than humans’.” You replied, smirking in a way that showed how much you liked showing off about The Master.

On the way back to the TARDIS Graham, Ryan and Yaz asked you quite a lot of questions, most of which you answered happily while holding The Master’s hand. Despite having watched the two of you for the past few weeks to make sure this wasn’t just another one of The Master’s schemes, The Doctor finally felt as though she could relax. You were safe, and both of you were happy, she was glad that The Master had managed to find someone who he could be himself around, someone who he could love. Stopping just outside the TARDIS doors, you turned back to look at her.

“You’re alright with this, yeah?”

“You’re happy?” The Doctor asked, addressing the both of you.

“Very.” You replied, while The Master simply looked down at you and nodded.

“Good, I’m happy for you - both of you.” She made sure to address The Master, who looked slightly surprised before he rolled his eyes at her.

“Now, movie night?” She suggested, gaining nods of approval from everyone.

It was going to take some getting used to, but The Doctor was truly happy for the both of you. Later that evening she looked over to see that you had both fallen asleep in each other’s arms, she smiled looking at the two of you, glad you had each other.

Drumming Noise Inside My Head

Dhawan!Master x Reader

Summary - The Drums are raging in The Master’s head and The Reader comforts him.

Warnings - The Master’s Drums, The Master being insecure/depressed/sad/stressed

Word Count - 2229

A/n - Gender Neutral Reader. Not Requested. This was inspired by The Drumming Song by Florence & The Machine. This song always reminded me of The Master, so I just thought I should write a fic based on it.

------------------------------------------------------------

The Master couldn’t believe that you wanted to be with him. He was brash and impulsive. He had a tendency to be rude and not aware of other people’s emotions. And, obviously, he was a murderer who constantly created various plans to destroy planets, galaxies, and, of course, his best enemy. Despite all of that though, here you were, travelling along the ride of life with him for a reason that he could not understand.

The Master was naturally suspicious, ever since he was young. Maybe it was an effect of looking into the Time Vortex at such a young age and The Drums that invaded his mind since that event, or maybe The Master was just like this, or even something else responsible. Maybe everyone and everything in The Master’s life just led him to be so suspicious.

The Master’s parents, from as far back as he could remember, had stuffed his head full of the fear that everyone would want to steal their power and wealth as a familial line if given the chance; therefore no one could be trusted. The Time Wars then enforced this ideology. So many of the Gallifreyan leaders were stabbed in the back by underlings who wished to have more power and their planet being in chaos gave them the opportunity.

Again, The Master beginning to scheme and plot reinforced his mindset that no one could be trusted. Of course, he was also trying to take over many people. But he was brought up with the belief that, as a Time Lord, he had the right to be at the forefront of making history, no matter what other people believed.

Maybe it was his time alone in space that really forged his nature. Though The Master could never be sure of the real reason why he acted the way he did, he just continued to act so as to not go crazy in the emptiness of space.

The Master’s suspicious nature never died down upon meeting you either. You were always kind and patient with The Master, but so many other people in The Master’s past pretended to be kind and patient in order to use him. Though you had so many opportunities to manipulate him, or try to, that is, but you never did. So maybe you could be trusted after all.

The Master did eventually will himself to trust you enough in order to interact with you during his O persona. Then to tell you who he truly was. Then his trust grew enough to allow you onto his TARDIS. And then to begin dating you.

Even though his trust in you did grow exponentially, The Master could never shake all of his insecurities away. Either his Drums would flare up and he would question everything that led to this moment in time or vice versa. The Master, unfortunately for himself, could never resist the urge to question his entire life, which always lead to a massive drumbeat-filled headache.

The Master refused to tell you about The Drums. The only person who really knew about The Drums was The Doctor, and she had a history of not believing the severity of the drumbeat inside The Master’s mind. And after Rassilon and the leaders of Gallifrey accused him of being insane and diseased for the noise in his mind, the noise they gave him, The Master assumed that everyone would see him as weak and monstrous for something he did not choose to have. The last thing he wanted was for you to run from him. You were the only person left in his life. And The Master, even though he was still sceptical of you, had grown very fond of you. He might even conjecture that he loved you, if he even knew what that feeling was. But whatever he was feeling was very similar to what billions of romantics had described as love. Perhaps, telling you about the truth of his mind would not be as devastating as The Master feared.

The Drums were particularly loud today. They have been echoing around his brain since he woke up this morning. Unlike some of his previous regenerations, The Drums weren’t always this bad, but The Master would have some horrible days still.

The Drums were already raging in The Master’s head by the time you woke up. He had tried to stay quiet while being with you, but he eventually needed to distract himself, so he picked up the book he left on the bedside table and tried to focus and read until you woke up. Once you had, The Master quickly placed the book back on the bedside table. He hadn’t progressed very far in it and that was only making the drumbeat and his insecurities worse. All The Master wanted at the moment was your attention, which you happily gave him.

After a brief moment of cuddling, you got up to take a shower. You, in your tired state, assumed that today was like any normal day and that The Master was feeling perfect and well.

The Master informed you that he would take a shower in his own bedroom, which wasn’t abnormal. He would do this often if he had a plan in mind so he could easily run out of the shower and write down whatever idea he had. So, again, you thought nothing of his act. You, however, had never actually been to his room. The TARDIS always kept it hidden, but you never pushed her or her Master on why that was the case.

Before leaving your room, though, The Master said that he would either be working in his study or in The TARDIS console room or the storage rooms. It was a lie, of course. After The Master’s long shower, he dried himself off and then cocooned himself within the many blankets on his bed.

The Master did feel bad for not telling you the truth. You deserved his honesty. He just didn’t want to worry you. In the back of his mind, however, The Master worried that you didn’t care at all. He couldn’t help but think that he was unworthy of your kindness and love, if your feelings were even real. The Master continued to debate your love for him and all of his failings in his life until he eventually dozed off into a troubling and nightmare-filled nap.

You needed to ask The Master something a couple of hours after you woke up that morning. It wasn’t too important. It was just something small related to your job on Earth. But you wanted to complete the project you were working on today.

You looked in The Master’s office, but he was nowhere to be seen. Then you looked in the console room, but still nothing. Finally, you walked all the way down into the dark storage rooms, and still, The Master was nowhere to be seen.

You felt The TARDIS urging you out of the room and toward another part of the ship. You followed her instructions without question. The TARDIS’s telepathic services rang throughout your mind when you walked out of the storage rooms with a confused huff. She kindly led you through her wandering halls to an unknown room. You asked telepathically if The Master was in the room, and she responded that he was.

So, you knocked on the door, but there was no response. The TARDIS urged you to just open the door, and you did. The room looked like a normal bedroom, at least from what you could see of it because the lights were all out. There was an outline bed, wardrobes, and a desk, but there was no sign of The Master.

“Can you please close the door?” You jumped a bit upon hearing The Master’s voice, which sounded broken and sad. You really didn’t think that he was in the room, but you did as he asked without question.

“Master? Are you okay?” You walked forward a bit into the dark of the room but stayed reliably close to the door.

“I’m fine. You can just go about your day, Y/n.” You huffed, knowing that The Master was deflecting. You slowly walked around the bed, after making out the fact that the mound of the bed was in fact The Master. He was mainly sleeping on the side of the bed that The Master always slept on when the two of you shared a bed, so you stayed on your side of the bed as well. You lend down into a kneeling position and looked at the breathing mound of blankets. You wanted to give The Master space, but also look him in the eye, if possible. You suddenly felt determined to get to the bottom of The Master’s depressive episodes. He had been hiding for far too long.

“I’m not going to leave you like this. Now, what’s wrong, Master?”

“It doesn't matter.”

“It does matter. Something’s wrong and I want to make it better if I can.”

“Just hold me.” You heard The Master choke out after a long silence. He lifted up the side of the blankets you were closest to, allowing you to crawl under The Master’s many blankets. Even in the darkness, you could see that The Master was holding himself and he was shaking a bit. You quickly wrapped your body around his and just held him. Sometimes, you kissed his forehead and brought a hand through his hair, but The Master was still shaking. Seeing him like this terrified you. Seeing the person you loved so broken looking was hurting you to your core. You just wanted to help The Master.

“Master, please just give me a hint as to what’s going on so I can be useful. It doesn’t have to be everything, but what’s going on? I haven’t seen you like this before.”

“Have I ever told you about The Drums?” The Master said in a strained voice. You responded with a confused ‘no.’

“The Untempered Schism?” Again, you responded with a confused ‘no.’

“What about the Time Vortex?”

“Just that that is what we travel through. Why?”

The Master explained The Drums to you, slowly because he was still in pain. He explained how he looked into the Untempered Schism as a child and that’s when the drumbeat first began to plague his mind. Finally, he explained everything that the Drums did to him, both minor consequences and major symptoms. Everything that The Master had to experience broke your heart, but the mention of the drumbeat piqued your curiosity.

“Is this what I have been hearing sometimes?”

“What do you mean?”

“Sometimes, when we are cuddling or reading together or just at random times when I am with you, I hear a drum beat in my head. It’s always four beats. It’s steady and soft in the background. I hear it now actually.”

“Does it scare you?”

“No. It calms me down. It reminds me of you, Master.” The Master hummed; he didn’t understand why you could hear The Drums or why you weren’t worried about it. However, The Master was too drained to process either of those realities fully, so he just accepted it. He was staring off into space when you cupped his face in your hands. The Drums, when they were raging, caused him to not process things fully. Like there was a loud fog in his head and it made him feel horrible. But you were making all of this period more bearable.

You brushed your palm through his disgruntled hair, and then delicately caressed his face again. The Master closed his eyes; he always grew more relaxed in your presence.

“I love you.” The Master whispered vulnerably.

“I love you, Master.” You saw him smile bittersweetly and a stray tear rolled down his face. You wiped it away and kissed his forehead before cuddling The Master once more.

“Do you want to take a nap?” The Master nodded into you.

“Do you want to be alone?” The Master shook his head “no,” but then immediately groaned when an intense pain erupted through his head. You told The Master that you were going to get him some more painkillers and water before you took your nap. It took some convincing for The Master to actually let you go, but you ensured him that you would return quickly.

You made sure that The Master took the medication and drank some water. You knew that in times like these it was your responsibility to take care of him, and you were happy to do it. You wanted to make sure that The Master was safe and healthy and happy, just like how he had always made you feel when you were feeling low.

The two of you then laid back down together on The Master’s bed and shuffled around a bit before you found a comfortable position. The Master ended up laying on top of you, with his head over your heart and your hands either rubbed circled on his back or played with his hair. In this environment, it was easy for the two of you to fall into a deep slumber. And, when The Master woke up, many hours later, The Drums were gone and his mind was clear and calm, all because of your care.

--------------------------------------------------------------

If you had not witnessed what had happened yourself, you would have sworn that the man currently dusting off his trousers in your back garden had just climbed over your fence in an attempt to break into your home. Strangely, though, that is not what you saw. Instead you, after getting some shopping delivered, observed a man in a Victorian-looking outfit fall from the sky and land far too close to the cherry tree your father had planted to lighten up the place when you had moved in. The man then jumped up onto his feet like falling from the sky happened every day.

You had been observing the man just over the sill of your kitchen window for the past couple of minutes, unsure of what to do. The man fell from the sky and looked completely unharmed, there weren’t any protocols to follow that you were taught in school about how to deal with a situation like this one.

You ducked under the sill when the stranger looked your way, just in case he was here for ulterior motives. When you peeked back out through your window, the unbelievable man seemed to be talking to a couple of birds that landed on the edge of a water basin. When you were young, the birds would always stop by that basin mid-journey, but since you have moved in, no birds stopped by even though you restored the basin to how it looked in your youth, built birdhouses around your back garden and left piles of bird seed throughout your yard. You couldn’t help but let out a huff of jealousy that this stranger could convince the birds to talk to him, let alone show up, when you have had no luck in that department for months.

The man laughed at whatever the birds had chirped. Then he gestured to you and seemed to tell a joke that had the birds roaring with laughter, if birds could roar with laughter. You stood up to your full height, rolling your shoulder contemptuously, then leaned against your window sill annoyed with the stranger’s easy way with the birds. The man seemed to fully notice you now that you weren’t trying to hide, so he waved a genuine wave in your direction but his smile was sad as if he hated himself for having scared you before. You found yourself waving back but quickly stopped when the man’s smile appeared to lighten.

The man said farewell to the birds and strode over to the backdoor of your house. He knocked in the “Shave and a Haircut” rhythm before holding his hands behind his back and looking up at your house. He probably meant no harm, you assumed, but there was no way that this man was normal. He literally fell from the sky and he didn’t even have a scratch on him.

You walked over to your kitchen door, briefly stopping to arm yourself with a newly purchased knife first. Then you opened the door slowly after taking a tentative breath. If the stranger did try something, at least you had a weapon behind your back.

“Hello! I am kind of in a hurry, which is not ideal given the circumstances, but can you help me? I think you are just who I need!” You tightened your grip on the knife.

“Oh! God! Oh god, no. Not in a creepy way! I don’t want to hurt you.” The man held his hands up defensively and laughed awkwardly.

“I promise.” The man softly uttered the promise. He looked at you with soft, hopeful hazel eyes that seemed hard to hide secrets. You considered him and everything that happened since he fell from the sky for a moment. Then you found yourself caving to the man’s hopeful demeanour.

“What do you need?” The stranger’s face instantly broke into a soft smile.

“Firstly, just something to eat and drink.” The man still held his hands up in a defensive gesture. The man looked apologetic, confused, broken and just lost, definitely not the type to hurt you. So even though it was probably incredibly stupid, you let the unbelievable man into your home.

After some trial and error, the strange man finally found food that he found acceptable and didn’t make him sick. He made an American-style breakfast, with gigantic waffles, fried eggs(more over medium than sunny side up), and crispy bacon. You don’t know how he made the majority of the food, given the fact that you didn’t own a waffle maker straight out of a continental hotel breakfast bar or any bacon in your kitchen, but you turned your back on the stranger once and he had said items. Finally, once everything was cooked and plated, he drenched his entire plate in soy sauce. You had heard of people dipping their eggs in soy sauce, and in theory, it sounded good. However, this man’s plate practically turned into soup due to the amount of soy sauce he had poured onto his food. The man made you food, as well, while he was making his own but you made sure to make your desired alterations. You weren’t in the mood to eat waffles swimming in soy sauce.

As the man shovelled food into his face like he hadn’t eaten in days, you tentatively placed a corner of your waffle in your mouth. It was buttery and warm, you could almost taste the love put into the dish. You looked at the man again. There was something different about him, but you couldn’t tell what it was, other than the obvious. There was something bigger, deeper, than the obvious, though. Whatever made this stranger different excited you and you hadn’t felt excited in a long time. The exciting man was unexpected, however, and you didn’t know if you were ready for someone as exciting as this man in your life right now. You reassured yourself that the man would only be in your life for this meal and this meal alone, but maybe you could allow yourself to open up to him slightly.

You placed the knife you had been holding behind your back, and in your lap while the stranger was in your home, onto the table. Close enough for you to grab if you needed but you were starting to believe what the man stuffing his face before you was saying. He just needed help and wasn’t going to hurt you.

“Thank you. I promise that you won’t regret that.” He looked up, alerted by the noise of the knife hitting the table, and he smiled his soft at you.

“Don’t mention it.” You mumbled into your food. There was a moment of silence, except for the sounds of eating, until the man cleaned his face with a napkin and spoke up.

“If you don’t mind me asking, whose house is this?”

“Mine.”

“Well, yes, but …” The man looked around your kitchen and then back to you, trying to politely insinuate that you couldn’t afford your home. ‘Trying’ being the operative word because the man was definitely failing at being polite. You sighed, why not unload your baggage onto a stranger?

“It was my great aunt’s. I spent a lot of time here when I was young and when she passed I inherited it. Given the state of the world right now I’m not going to turn down the opportunity to own a home that I can actually afford.”

“It’s a bit of a fixer-upper, though.” You glared at the man fiercely. He asked and you answered, why did he have to criticise your family and way of living in the process?

“I don’t mean to be rude, I just mean that I can help.” The man quickly tried to correct your interpretation of his statement, but you remained reserved. He was a stranger after all. Best not to get too comfortable.

“I don’t need your help.”

“But -” You cut the man off before he could make another inappropriate comment about the state of your home.

“I don’t know you.”

“But we could get to know each other.” The man leaned forward over the table, he had a hopeful smile ghosting over his lips. You retreated backwards into your seat, though, away from the man’s hopefulness. His personality excited you, yes, but what if you were hurt by him like you were hurt by others in the past? You didn’t want to feel that disappointment again. For some reason, you wanted to be held in high regard by this man but the fear that he was simply using you, like other people had, kept haunting your mind. So, you broke eye contact with the man and peered over to the vintage clock on your wall.

“I thought you said that you were in an emergency?” You mumbled passive-aggressively, but the man didn’t seem to notice or care about the sudden change in your demeanour. He seemed more grateful that you reminded him of his true reason for interrupting your day.

“Right! Do you have the time? My own watch doesn’t seem to be working properly.” The man tapped the face of his watch a couple of times and even from your seat across the table you could hear the small crunch of broken glass and gears. You showed him the time on your phone out of convenience.

“Oh god!” The man exclaimed, but then another thought visibly popped into his brain and took over.

“Why do I keep saying that? ‘Oh god?’ Is that from my future or past? Or is that just me? I don’t think that’s me.” The man looked to you like you might have the answer he was desperate for, but you had no idea what he was talking about. This was just another strange occurrence from the strange man.

“Who are you?” You asked exasperatedly. How could someone like him be real and in your kitchen and want your help? In your mind, he could do so much better than you.

“The Doctor?”

“Doctor Who?” A knowing smile crept across the man’s face.

“Just The Doctor, love.”

“‘Just The Doctor?’ Who calls themself ‘The Doctor’?” You retorted, mimicking his Manchester accent.

“Me. I’m The Doctor.” His face shifted as if he just realised something. “Hm, apparently I’m confident in this regeneration.” This man was unbelievable.

“How do you exist?” You asked. You were hitting the threshold of where you were beginning to feel out of your depth.

“Easily. It’s called breathing.” The man smiled at you widely, showing off the roundness of the apples of his cheeks. All you could do was sigh, overwhelmed.

“You are completely ridiculous”

“Ridiculous? Ridiculous. Interesting. Fun! I’m ridiculous!” The man’s face rapidly shifted from offended to curious to ecstatic within moments.

“I didn’t mean it as a compliment.”

“Oh, well, I’m taking it as one.” After taking one final bite of food, the man jumped up from the table and bounded out your door. The man was so much, in a good way, but you weren’t prepared for something like this to happen today. You leaned back into your chair again and sighed deeply with your eyes closed, revelling in the stillness in your kitchen without the stranger in it with you. You frowned. Then you opened your eyes and looked at the aftermath of breakfast. You realised that you missed that man. No, you hadn’t known each other for that long, but ‘The Doctor’ whoever he was brightened your day, even if you wished to deny that fact.

“Well, come on.” The man suddenly popped his head through the door, the expectation that you would simply follow him, and curiosity that you hadn’t done just that, was etched deeply into his face.

“What?” You barked back. The man rolled his eyes and sighed. The act seemed to fit his style. You would have to tell him in future.

“I am freshly regenerated, there is going to be an alien attack in 15 minutes, and I would like your help, again. So, will you help me?” The man confidently strode back into your kitchen as he spoke. Then he held his hand out for you to take, that soft, hopeful smile of his was back and as effervescent as it was before. He was completely ridiculous, but your life had been missing ridiculousness for a long time. Maybe, just maybe, he would be good for you.

“You better not get me killed, you ridiculous man.” You placed your hand into The Doctor’s palm. The Doctor’s smile then grew into a joyous one as he rubbed his thumb against the back of your hand softly.

“I’d never let that happen. I promise. Now let’s get going.” Before you could respond, The Doctor ran out of your kitchen, pulling you out of your chair and along behind him toward an apparent alien attack.

Hello!

So, I have been hyperfixating on Beetlejuice and School of Rock for the past couple of weeks and I really want to write something.

Both of these fandoms are incredibly comforting to me and I would like to do something revolving around them. I’ve seen both movies and I am watching Beetlejuice the Animated series currently. I’ve listened to the musicals more times than I can count!

I, however, don’t have access to watching the musicals. Does anyone have access or a link to the full Beetlejuice Musical and the full School of Rock musical?

I want to make sure that I watch the full musicals before I write anything because I don’t think just listening to the album and reading the Wikipedia pages are doing the musicals justice.

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Heartbeat Headache

Dhawan!Master x Reader

Summary - The Master comforts the Reader when they get a really bad headache.

Warnings - migraine/headaches, a bit of an overstimulation meltdown

Word Count - 1690

A/n - Gender Neutral Reader. Not Requested. This is purely a self-indulgent fic because I get frequent headaches, but I hope that you enjoy it!

The Master had been living aboard the Doctor’s TARDIS for a couple of weeks now, and everyone hated this new living situation. Except The Master, who seemed to be having a tremendous amount of fun tormenting everyone on board. The Doctor insisted that The Master needed to be watched; that the only way for her to properly make sure that The Master didn’t continue down his destructive path was to have him live with her, you and the rest of The Fam.

Despite being the main organiser of the situation, The Doctor didn’t seem happy. You got the feeling that she did not expect to feel cramped in her own home, but she seemed hopeful that this might be the moment where she could get her old friend back. You also weren’t the only uncomfortable companion of The Doctor’s, the rest of The Fam weren’t happy either, especially because The Master did try to kill them, multiple times. However, the reason why you were uncomfortable with The Master’s presence was different from the Fam’s.

The Master always watched you. As O, you thought that it was a bit flattering; all of the lingering glances and the soft touches the two of you had shared when no one was noticing. Since revealing himself as the rogue Time Lord, his gazes became more menacing and predatory. He always seemed to be in the same room as you, lurking in the corner, his eyes staring holes into your back. You knew that The Doctor wished for you and The Fam to be kind and welcoming despite everything, but sometimes you could not control your anger. Today was one of those days.

“How is my little Human today?” The Master questioned, his tone was teasing, as he came up behind you while you were making a cup of tea. He knew how much you hated his condescending attitude, especially toward Humans, which only made him more determined to rile you up.

“Don’t start with me.” Your speech was venomous. This shocked The Master, but he hid it well.

“Awww is my little human upset?” He cooed at you, miming sadness on his face and getting uncomfortably close to you.

“I said, don’t start with me, if you are so incapable of hearing! Don’t talk to me, don’t look at me, don’t even breathe near me. Just leave me alone!” You rushed past The Master, checking his shoulder, causing him to stumble backward slightly. He stood shocked into stupidity by your behaviour and the fact that you somehow managed to not spill your tea. The Master did not understand what was going on in his brain. He wondered if he was malfunctioning.

“You okay there, Master?” The Doctor teased as she popped her head into the kitchen. She heard everything and gleefully prepared to tease her old friend about his budding feelings for you.

“Of course, I’m okay.” He wasn’t. It was a blatant lie, that once spoken, he knew The Doctor could see through.

Two main thoughts emerged in The Master’s after his interaction with you. One: he hated how attractive you looked when ordering him around. Two: he hated how visibly upset you were, and how he was the cause. That was the opposite reaction he wished you would give when seeing him, despite how fun it was to joke with you. Perhaps you did not see his japes as fun or flirty.

“Good job with Y/N.” The Doctor knew of the mutual crushes budding between the two of you. She saw it happening a few weeks ago when The Master kept touching and playing with the hem of your shirt while she was rambling about her newest plan for an adventure. You had asked him to stop, but he kept doing it because he said that it calmed him down. The Doctor might have been a bit dense when it came to understanding how people felt about her, but she was quick to pick up on the energies of situations she wasn’t a part of.

“Shut up.” The Master retorted, half heartedly, still more concerned with your mood rather than his ego.

“Maybe tone down the teasing when Y/n is visibly upset next time, yeah?” The Master grumbled, knowing she was right. “Oh, and maybe consider apologising. I know that that’s not typical Master behaviour, but I think you should make an exception for ‘your little Human’.” The Doctor snickered as she saw The Master’s face turn into a scowl. She quickly left with a box of custard creams in her hand before the Master could throw any kitchen utensils at her head.

The Master sighed defeatedly, knowing that his old friend was right and that he should apologise. He questioned if he should do that now. You did sound incredibly upset, but he didn’t want this situation to grow and get worse. So The Master made his way to your room, after stealing some of your favourite snacks from the kitchen before he left.

Upon arriving at the door to your bedroom, The Master knocked on your door softly. He didn’t want to startle you and cause you to be even more upset with him. However, you didn’t respond. The Master was going to knock again, but The TARDIS opened your door for him. The Master thanked the ship and slowly creaked the door open until he heard you growl at him.

“I thought I told you to leave me alone.”

“What’s wrong, Y/n?” The Master blocked the light from The TARDIS hallway with his body, but refused to fully enter your room without your permission. The Master’s back straightened out of regret when he thought he heard you crying, but he tried to remain composed because he didn’t have all of the details yet.

“You don’t really care, so you might as well leave.” The Master heard your voice cracking, confirming his fears that you were in fact crying.

“Y/n, I’m sorry about earlier and for all my teasing before -” You cut The Master off before he could finish his apology.

“I have the worst migraine I’ve ever had in my life.” The Master responded with a soft, “oh,” having been on the receiving end of many headaches throughout his regenerations.

“How bad is it?”

“I can feel my heartbeat radiating through my skull.”

“Can I touch you?”

“What?” Even in your pain filled state you noticed how awkwardly he worded that question. The Master grimised, too, upset that his emotions were making him flustered.

“Can I massage your head? It might help your headache.” You agreed and heard the Time Lord enter your room and close your door behind him. You heard him place some things down then rummaged around your desk a bit, then you felt his hand brush against your arm, notifying you of his presence. You sat up briefly, allowing him to sit behind you on your bed. You let The Master reposition you until your head was resting on his thighs.

“Is this okay?” The Master’s voice was softer than you heard before, he almost sounded like O. You nodded. The Master brought one of his hands up to cradle the back of your head and the other caressed your forehead. He eventually moved both of his hands to your temples causing some relief to flow through your skull.

The Master continued to massage your temples, digging slightly rougher into the flesh. Whatever he did, it calmed the pain, but you could easily see him using this technique, albeit more forcefully, on an enemy he was about to execute with his bare hands. You heard him chuckle, causing you eyes to pop open.

“You heard that thought, didn’t you?”

“Given that it’s telepathy, I technically didn’t hear it.” The Master bluntly stated. You rolled your eyes at the technicality, but asked in your head if he killed people like that. He nodded sadly.

You thought, ‘Have you ever thought of killing me like that?’

The Master shook his head and projected his thoughts into your head, ‘I haven’t thought about killing you at all. In fact, I've planned schemes around trying to protect you.” You smiled at him, but winced when your headache spiked. The Master winced sympathetically seeing you in pain.

“I can calm you, telepathically, if you want.”

“You aren’t going to hypnotise me or look through my memories or thoughts, are you?”

“No. I wouldn’t do that to you. Also, that would probably make your head hurt more, so that wouldn’t be beneficial. It will basically be the same thing as listening to theta waves.” You nodded your head, understanding. “But it’s actually nothing like that.” You slumped your shoulders and glared at him because of his correction.

You let The Master reposition you again. Now you were lying between his legs with your head on his chest, while he rested back against your headboard. One of his hands partially cradled your face while he massaged your temple, his other hand petted your head and sometimes went down to caress your back. The Master notified you when he was about to start calming you telepathically; he wanted to give you another opportunity to stop this if you were uncomfortable with him doing this.

You let The Master do as he recommended. You felt a deep calm rush through your whole body and a numbing feeling radiating through your head. All of this, combined with the steady beating of The Master’s hearts lulled you into a serene mood. You were virtually on the brink of sleep and your headache was steadily dissipating.

“My little human.” Because you were on the brink of sleep you almost didn’t hear The Master say this, but a small smile etched onto your face when you did. The little nickname The Master had given you was filled with love this time, not a mean tease.

“My old Timelord.” You mumbled and then snuggled further into The Master’s chest. The Master smiled down at you then placed a kiss on your forehead, just before you fell into a deep sleep, completely free of your headache.

First Proper Date

Whittaker!Doctor x Reader

Summary - The Doctor takes The Reader on your first proper date since beginning to date, and this time nothing is going to interrupt the two of you.

Based On This Request -

image

Warnings - some suggestive stuff, so 18 + please, references to canon typical violence, some references to 13’s Era trauma but could take place at any point in time in the plot, me making up random planets

Word Count - 810

A/n - Gender Neutral Reader. Requested by a lovely anon. I hope that you enjoy it! Also, I’ll link The Master version of this ask here, in case you would like to read that one as well.

------------------------------------------------------------

It took so long for you and The Doctor to begin dating. You loved the back-and-forth flirting and then immediate bashfulness that occurred between the two of you, but the constant embarrassment and miscommunication getting between you and Gallifreyan were infuriating. Not to mention all of The Doctor’s enemies and past making your relationship strained or unable to move forward. Finally, however, everything suddenly seemed calm, and you and The Doctor could just be yourselves without the threat of your relationship being stolen away.

The Doctor wanted everything to be a surprise. She wanted your first real date night with each other since becoming a couple to be sweet and romantic; she wanted to fully express how much she loved and cared for you. The Doctor planned to take you to the planet Amares, the first place you had travelled to with The Doctor. She would rent out a beautiful hotel suite and cook you a delicious picnic dinner for the two of you to eat on the balcony of the room, overlooking the scenic planet. Then later, the two of you could explore the planet, go sightseeing, relax, or do anything the two of you wished,

However, The Doctor wasn’t the best cook. She was trying to practice the meal she would cook for you, but it ended up in smoke. You had run out of your room assuming that something had gone wrong with the console only to find The Doctor trying desperately to put out a fire on the kitchen stove. After helping your goofy, well-meaning partner clean up the disaster she made, you pried the reason for all of this commotion out of The Doctor.

And despite how much The Doctor wished to do everything for you on the date, you eventually convinced The Doctor to allow you to cook for the event.

------------------------------------------------------------

The day of your date finally arrived. The food was properly, and safely, cooked. Both you and The Doctor were dressed in fancy clothes. And you had packed up all the necessities for the small trip. Since both of you were quite hungry, you set up the picnic and ate the delicious meal as soon as you arrived in the room.

After being fully fed, The Doctor pulled you up from where you were sitting. You assumed that she wanted to look at the scenery of the beautiful planet, but she ended up placing her other hand on the small of your back and began swaying with you back and forth.

“I’m not exactly the best dancer, Doctor.” You warned.

“Neither am I.” The Doctor responded in a carefree manner.

“Really?”

“Really. I have had so long to learn but never have. Maybe we could learn together?”

“I would love that, Doctor!”

In your excitement you stumbled, accidentally hitting one of The Doctor’s feet and losing your balance. The Doctor quickly grabbed you around your waist to stabilise you, but she didn’t plan far enough ahead to counteract your weight. She fell backwards onto her back, bringing you with her. Luckily, the two of you landed on some blankets and pillows.

“Sorry.” You mumbled into The Doctor’s shoulder.

“No! This is brilliant!” The Doctor was smiling so wide, her nose was scrunched, and she was giggling harder than you had ever seen her giggle before.

“How is this brilliant? I fell on top of you, Doctor!”

“Exactly, on top of me.” You felt your face heat up upon realizing the implication. You wanted to move forward with The Doctor in that way, but neither of you had discussed adding a sexual dynamic to your relationship before today.

“I can move if you want.”

“I don’t want you to move, Y/n. I love seeing you like this.” The Doctor smiled happily and brushed her hand against your face. She loved having you so close, but then she remembered to make sure you were okay with all of this, too.

“But if you want to move you can. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable by moving too quickly!” She quickly became frantic. The last thing she wanted was to cause you to become uncomfortable because of her absentmindedness.

“How about we move to a more comfortable place, Doctor? Like the couch or the bed or we could even go back to The TARDIS.”

“We should definitely move to the bed. As long as you -” You cut The Doctor off with a kiss.

“I am very comfortable, Doctor. I want to move forward with you.”

You smiled down at your perfect partner and she smiled back at you. The Doctor then flipped you over. She then picked you up from the floor and carried you to the bed where the two of you spent the majority of the day learning the best ways to express your love for each other in a new way.

Day 12- Forever

Dhawan!Master X Reader

Prompt: Fangs

Notes: All throughout I couldn’t help but think of the quote from Dracula- “Do you believe in destiny? That even the powers of time can be altered for a single purpose?” As I thought it was quite fitting. It also fits the Master so well!
