Just a reminder that Black artists need to be supported right now.Ā A lot is going on, but an aspect of it i want to focus on is black characters in media. Often a default, even for you black creators, is to design with white characters in mind. Support black creators and encourage blackness In our media beyond just side characters, character customization, and one off background characters.
Happy belated birthday š¦
Ā Reclaim the BlockĀ are maintaining a live list of organizations in need that are serving the community most impacted by the uprising.
Iāve updated this list again. I highlighted the Minnesota Sanctuary Hotel, which is a homeless shelter. I didnāt realize that George Floyd volunteered at a homeless shelter in Minneapolis. This is a lovely way to honor his spirit. The organization is trying to raise funds to purchase a vacant hotel, close to where George Floydās life tragically ended, and turn it into a shelter. We need more shelter beds in MSP. The situation was bad BEFORE Covid. Now itās critical.
Also: as a note, if you want to add your fundraiser or organization to this list please contact me through replies, instead of just reblogging the list with your stuff attached. Iām trying to focus on Minnesota because thatās where I live and thatās where I can do the most good. Thanks!

HEY IF YOURE IN THE US. CONGRESS IS TRYING TO END ENCRYPTION SO THEY CAN POSSIBLY LIMIT OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH UNDER āFOR THE CHILDRENā ITS BEEN AT THE START OF THE PANDEMIC AND NOW AT THE SENATE, CALL YR REPS AND TELL THEM YOUR AGAINST THE EARN IT BILL. TELL THEM ITS THE END OF FREE SPEECH.
PLEASE PLEASE SIGN THIS AND REBLOG! IF YR NOT IN THE US AND WANNA TRY* AND HELP. REBLOG THIS AND LET OTHER US CITIZENS KNOW. edit; i didnāt realize apparently signing if your not a us citizen invalidates it, so please DONāT sign it if youre not in the us. please reblog this version if you can. also the thing about this bill is it fucks over digital security in general as in you can get hacked easily, or hackers can gain access to things without encryption.
i understand that not everyone can donate rn even if they really wanted to. i myself am currently unemployed and cannot donate much more than i already have atm !! not donating is okay - pls donāt feel guilty if you do not have the means to do so.
if donating is not a possibility right now, ive found this 1 hour video you can watch on youtube where all proceeds from the ad revenue will go to an organization to help the cause (more info in the videoās description). op has compiled songs and art from Black artists to listen to. you can leave it on to play in the background or plug in earphones and go about your business as usual. it canāt get more simple than that.
as a fandom thatās known to mass stream, it would be amazing if you could channel that energy into watching this video !!!!!
black people, please take care of yourselves. please take care of your health. please take care of your mind. please take care of your spirit.
i understand if your soul is not at peace. i understand if you are exhausted. just, please take care of yourselves in these dark, hateful times and surround yourself with people who understand why.
a black woman named zoe amira posted a video on youtube. this video is an hour long and filled with art and music from black creators. it has a ton of ads, and in result will rack up a ton of revenue. 100% of the ad revenue from the video will be dispersed between various blm organizations, including bail-out funds for protesters. it will be split between the following, dependent on necessity
brooklyn bail fund
minnesota freedom fund
atlanta action network
columbus freedom fund
louisville community bail fund
chicago bond
black visions collective
richmond community bail fund
the bail project inc
nw com bail fund
philadelphia bail fund
the korchhinski-parquet family gofundme
george floydās family gofundme

turn off your adblocker and do not skip ads. between each time watch 3-5 other videos (mix it up) before restarting. this will ensure you arenāt marked as spam by youtube. mute the tab if you need to focus elsewhere but donāt mute the video itself. and let. it. play.
youtube will donate to blm for you.
