I’m debating that they might have known each other earlier; In his youth, what drove OP to want to be a cop initially was an attempt on Mirza’s life (Mirza was a political refugee and someone had tracked him down to their new home in Hackney) which was foiled by cops, and I’m thinking Sentinel as a rookie was one of them.
