The New DRAFT U.N. Resolution, Set To Be Voted On Today, Calls For:

The new DRAFT U.N. Resolution, set to be voted on today, calls for:

• ... “urgent and extended humanitarian pauses” in the fighting throughout Gaza and the opening of corridors inside the enclave “for a sufficient number of days to enable full, rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian access.” • U.N. Secretary General António Guterres to appoint a senior coordinator “with responsibility for facilitating, coordinating, monitoring, and verifying in Gaza, as appropriate, the humanitarian nature” of all assistance, and demands that “the parties to the conflict cooperate with the coordinator to fulfill their mandate without delay or obstruction.” • ... “immediate and unconditional” release of the hostages. It also demands that “all parties to the conflict comply with their obligations under international law ... including with regard to the conduct of hostilities and the protection of civilians and civilian objects.” • It reiterates the council’s “unwavering commitment” to a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians and “stresses the importance of unifying the Gaza Strip with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority.” (12/22/23 | Source: WaPo)

Although the resolution's language was toned down, this is a sign of progress. While such measures are long overdue and should have been honored from the start, we must do everything possible to meet the urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza and relieve unfathomable suffering.

DON'T STOP POSTING. KEEP UP THE PUBLIC PRESSURE. DEFEND HUMAN RIGHTS.

Stay tuned for today's vote.

... Man, IDW doesn’t pull their punches.

Thank you for answering, I appreciate it

Bit of a morbid question, but what moments in series do you find the most sad or heartbreaking? For me it was Starscream's beating after Megatron came, Megatron almost getting killed by Whirl; and his origin as a watchmaker, when Blurr wasn't answering Swerve's calls, and Megs final goodbye to the Lost Light crew for his trial.

Bit Of A Morbid Question, But What Moments In Series Do You Find The Most Sad Or Heartbreaking? For Me

Ravage's death BEST CATBOY DIDN'T DESERVE THIS

Oh. Ohhhhhhhh

Bit Of A Morbid Question, But What Moments In Series Do You Find The Most Sad Or Heartbreaking? For Me

I felt so fucking bad for Mirage throughout IDW it was honestly a wonder he didn't turn Decepticon after what Ironhide (and technically, Sunstreaker) did to him pretty much on no fault of his own.

Thoughts and info on TTB!Optimus Prime as I’m putting together the plot in a master copy;

- Omar Parvez (Optimus Prime/Orion Pax) actually trained under Sedgewick Princeton, Police Commisioner of London, known fondly as ’Ol’ Sentinel’ (due to their decorated service and high number of arrests) and was something of an apprentice to him. The reason Omar was assigned to patrol the Dead End and its surrounding precinct was because two previous Chief Superintendents had resigned from the post due to their inability to turn it around, as well as the stress that took on them, and Sedgewick positioned it as a trial by fire for Omar to prove he had what it took to work directly in Scotland Yard as Deputy Commissioner.

Omar took up the challenge, but quickly realized after the first two weeks of struggling to adapt standard policing tactics to the area that what he learned in the academy wasn’t going to work here, which is when he decided to try and and solve the issue holistically/win the trust of the locals instead of fighting them; He gets Ronan Chase/Ratchet to establish a free clinic, funds a small public library which doubles as a secondary education centre due to school closures in the area (He lives/sleeps in a second floor office here, because trying to do good means actual sacrifices to time and money, and he’s ok with that), oversees the creation of community gardens to support local food banks struggling with food shortage, builds genuine rapport with locals and studies extensively about the housing crisis/liaisons with activists involved with the cause to finds solutions for the issue for the people of his jurisdiction. (A long time ago, he promised a kid—-a young Morgan Trayton/Megatron— on the other side of the fence that he wanted to be a cop to make the world a better place for everyone, and he hasn’t forgotten that kid or that promise)

Now, crime slowly but steadily goes down as kids have safe places to be, people are fed and housing initiatives are put into place, but what he’s doing is seen as out of his scope of duty (You sure you a cop?) and more importantly to the higher ups, he isn’t making the arrest quotas which means private cells aren’t being filled and less bodies are available for prison labour, which Sedgewick isn’t happy about.

“Boy, you know I like you, but the system works for a reason and you work for the system.”

They get into their first argument as mentor-apprentice when Sedgewick lets it slip that while he’s proud of the fact that Omar had managed to ‘tame’ the Dead End to some extent, the whole idea was to drive out/cage the undesirables and THEN develop the place, not fix it first and let undesirables leech off the goods when there’s big buyers out there looking for the first time to invest in property within this shithole.

You turned it around! That’s great! Now get with the rest of the program!

The cracks solidify when Omar shoots back that he was assigned to this district—not a system—-and he’s going to serve this district and its people, all of them regardless of class, until someone can prove wrongdoing on his behalf in any form, and if that means giving up on that promotion to Scotland Yard next to his mentor, so be it.

Sedgewick can’t find any, Ronan/the local activists serve him a whole helping of loopholes to cover the initiatives they’d put into place, and this is the reason why Optimus Prime and Sentinel Prime don’t get along in this universe, and  why Sentinel is all too happy to throw Optimus under the bus when he gains the ire of the Senate and fires him the moment a chance presents itself.

Martial Arts Energy Breakdown

Every living being has two types of energy within them. The first is what is known as Ki. The physical energy. Ki is the remnants of the energy created in the Big Bang, and with special training, Ki can be burned to create micro scale big bangs, which vastly increases the power one is able to exert. Ki is primarily used for physical enhancement and direct energy attacks, though certain techniques can grant ki specialized properties, such as Ripple breathing granting one’s Ki the properties of sunlight. Ki can be shared with others.

The second form of energy is known as Reiryoku, the Energy of the Soul. Reiryoku is a reflection of one’s inner self, which on the one hand gives it a much wider variety of potential powers, but once an ability is developed, tends to be limited to that ability. A Martial Art known as Nen allows one to control the development of their spiritual abilities along certain lines, whereas less controlled methods can lead to the spontaneous manifestation of fully formed abilities, such as Stands.

Beings who have eaten of a special fruit, as well as their descendants, have the ability to combine Ki and Reiryoku into a new form of Energy called Chakra, which combines the properties of both together.

When did Orion/Oppy get suckered in by Sentinel? Surely Oppy would see through the trash man. Or did Sentinel have blackmail?

Sentinel is a respectable chief cop and actually hides his nasty side quite well, he does have decorum after all and has a public image to upkeep! Sentinel met OP at the police academy while he was scouting for talent, and OP was at the top of their class, so he was immediately a choice candidate for Sentinel to take under his wing.

I’m debating that they might have known each other earlier; In his youth, what drove OP to want to be a cop initially was an attempt on Mirza’s life (Mirza was a political refugee and someone had tracked him down to their new home in Hackney) which was foiled by cops, and I’m thinking Sentinel as a rookie was one of them. Might have even let tiny OP wear his hat and talked to OP to calm OP down while the older cops were arresting suspects and taking statements.

It would give even more reason for OP to trust Sentinel when they meet each other again years later and part of Sentinel might also be flattered that OP ‘followed in his footsteps’, enough so that he takes OP under his wing, because clearly this is providence that they met!

It would also give a reason as to why it takes a while for OP to see through Trash Man, but he sees it a lot earlier than Coptimus does, and it’s not Megatron giving him lofty ideas or Sentinel’s idea of peace through order (even if that order is unfair) that drives his desire for a better world—-it’s the good and bad he learns from both of them and his own experiences working in the Dead End.

He’s his own person at the end of the day,

What is something objectively good that you don't like or hate?

My issue is that if I hate something, even if it's good up until that point, I don't continue engaging in it. If I dislike a game, I don't typically continue playing it.

If I dislike something, I typically do not dwell on it either, so I don't remember it.
