Alexis wakes up to her phone pinging at her, irregular but insistent. Ted’s long gone into work for that weekend neutering extravaganza that she forbid him from discussing at home, so she’s got to fumble all by herself to get the phone off the bedside stand and unplugged so she can blink her eyes enough to actually read whatever’s on it.
There’s about a dozen WhatsApp notifications and a half a dozen texts; the latest text box is from Patrick and just says “ALEXIS WAKE UP.” She dismisses it; the next one says “ALEXIS WAKE UP.” The other four say the same thing.
“Oh my God, Patrick, chill,” she mutters, and checks WhatsApp. It is, of course, all Patrick, the first one at like, five in the morning. On a Sunday.

I love your amnesia fic, and it’s a trope I usually don’t like, so you surprised me with your ability to make the story compelling. You do a great job of establishing initial chemistry between Patrick and David & maintaining intimacy without making their relationship feel overly familiar to David. The parts with Alexis have been my favorite — outwardly, she’s the same girl David knew, but you mine her character for the little differences. Also, I’m sad about Moira’s actions, but it makes sense.

Looking For You Everywhere by houdini74 (rated T) The rom-com AU that David would definitely make Patrick watch. Or David and Patrick meet for the first time in a bar and then on a train and then in a park before being separated by circumstances.

You didn’t throw it away, did you?” “Um,” David said, running his hands down his chest now, his arms, oh god Patrick’s arms. “I don’t…I think so? Hang on, though, could we just…explore this, for a few minutes, maybe, because it’s actually kind of—” “David.” Patrick came over and gripped him by the shoulders, looking very serious, and David was in awe; that was hot, that was very hot, that I-mean-business-NOW look on his own face. He’d have to try it, practice it in a mirror, once he got it back.

You Could Be The One by bigficenergy (rated M) David has big feelings about Patrick, and he’s listening to a lot of Carly Rae Jepsen about it.
Your Wings Prepare to Fly by ICMezzo (rated E) Wings on a human? Incorrect.David Rose had them anyway, at least sometimes. But given that he loathed them all the time, with every luxuriously moisturized cell in his body, he did whatever it took to keep them hidden away. It hadn’t even been particularly difficult—at least, not until Patrick Brewer started looking.

I think we all noticed just how much David smiled in s5, so I started to get curious about just how drastically that had changed over the seasons. I assumed it had started pretty minimally and grown each year, but the only way to find out for sure was to actually start counting. So I started taking screenshots of every time he smiled–smirks, grins, happy little twists of his lips, big, small, sarcastic, real–I tried to get them all. There are definitely still some missing from this; sometimes they look like smiles in real time but not in the screenshots, sometimes they’re too small or too quick to capture very well, sometimes he’s talking or moving and they’re too blurry. So there are definitely more than what’s here. But this is most of them, and I think it still illustrates the point pretty well:
David just gets happier and happier, year by year.
