funny thing about “pure obsessional” or mental-only compulsive OCD is that you could be having the most devastating mental health crisis of your life and spiraling into the brainworm dimension but to everyone around you, you’re just politely browsing for medicated chapstick
No matter what pair of words you try to use to illustrate a difference in pronunciation, there is unfortunately some commonly spoken dialect of English which is specifically designed to defeat you. There are English dialects where "dog" and "cat" have the same vowel sound in the middle. You can't win.
Please hit me up if you know where I can find more of these surreal ~2014 (?) 4chan memes of female NEETs that I find incredibly compelling
discussion about right wing radicalisation focuses near-exclusively on men becoming white nationalists but i wonder how it might manifest elsewhere. like, imagine a heavily online subculture of mostly women and they're dedicated to rooting out degeneracy, maintaining a rigid social order, refusing to acknowledge scientific consensus, being violently paranoid of a dehumanised other, adhering to exclusively eurocentric standards of beauty and politically dedicated to exterminating a minority group (possibly one that was already historically targeted for genocide). that'd be fuckin crazy lol
russian speaking guy who is like "okay libs this is basic grammar: there are three genders"
nobody tears through library books quite as fast as a 12 yr old girl with no friends
I know this is debate lord type shit but I do get legitimately mad when people defend openly unscientific ways of approaching social phenomena like you are doing pure ideology while calling yourself sensible and you don’t even know that your definition of sensible is itself ideological. not like me though I’m openly biased and ideological I love picking sides and dying on hills
usamericans when they have to read headlines: how can be I expected to process this
Still surprised when people are like “how come everybody in America seems insane” and then every single news bite is like
like thats why. You live in a blender you can’t turn off. You live inside a 27 million degree fusion reactor wherein hyperindividualism is promoted to the extent that a feeling of intense loneliness is possibly the only trait Americans can agree on. You are supposed to be crazy because there is no logical way to process what is happening.
This sounds like “doomposting” I know, but it’s not what I mean to say. You should value the ability to stay on your feet. If the Founding Fathers had intended to create a machine that makes your emotions uncontrollable I do not believe your life would not be dramatically different. The point is it shouldn’t be surprising that America is made up of what seems to be people grabbing stances they’ll die for out of a bag of random parts. You need to expend a lot of effort to remain coherent.
part 2 was also pretty bad :( I don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with exploring a more at-face-value right wing reading of Nietzsche, and it's pretty silly to insist that that reading isn't supported by his work. But it's still an odd choice to not acknowledge any leftist/deluezian analysis, since imo there's a lot of interesting stuff there! anyway shout out to Liv Agar's podcast ep about contrapoint's equally disappointing Nietzsche takes that made me interested in his work to begin with
philosophytube really pissed off the deluezeheads this time huh
Liv Hewson for Russh magazine
whether its sensationalizing syntax, devaluing dialects, writing-off writing, ignoring indigenous voices, or trying to prove hyperdiffusion, my dream is to simply blow them up!
