Microdosing on court intrigue by being really cagey about what I do in my spare time for no good reason
usamericans when they have to read headlines: how can be I expected to process this
Still surprised when people are like “how come everybody in America seems insane” and then every single news bite is like
like thats why. You live in a blender you can’t turn off. You live inside a 27 million degree fusion reactor wherein hyperindividualism is promoted to the extent that a feeling of intense loneliness is possibly the only trait Americans can agree on. You are supposed to be crazy because there is no logical way to process what is happening.
This sounds like “doomposting” I know, but it’s not what I mean to say. You should value the ability to stay on your feet. If the Founding Fathers had intended to create a machine that makes your emotions uncontrollable I do not believe your life would not be dramatically different. The point is it shouldn’t be surprising that America is made up of what seems to be people grabbing stances they’ll die for out of a bag of random parts. You need to expend a lot of effort to remain coherent.
It's crazy how women who believe that all men are mindless rapists are like. Extreme anti-feminist strawmen who essentially don't exist in real life. And a man who believes that all women are mindless vessels for receiving sex is, like, your dad
Dariacore is such a wacky ass genre because you'll listen to the most fire track you've heard in your entire life, to a point where you are genuinely shocked somebody could make something so close to perfection using pre-existing vocals, only to look at the album cover and it's some shit like this. 10/10 genre would listen again
#now I'm gonna be pedantic and say that the kids in narnia don't have powers #unless you think being british is a superpower #which c.s. lewis low-key did believe so actually your kind of right
"magical girl" is not just a girl with magical powers, it's a specific genre. magical girl characters need to be from a work within that genre or they can be from a work that doesn't fall into the magical girl genre if the particular character plays on the tropes of the magical girl. think about the definition of "superhero" instead. captain america is a superhero bc he comes from the superhero genre. the crimson chin from the fairly oddparents is a superhero bc his design and behavior draw on the superhero genre. but you would never call the kids from narnia superheroes just bc they save the world using their powers
ultimately i'm sure there's trans girls out there who do have a genuinely unhealthy and paranoid absolutist view of the world, i can grant that. but if you're going to call yourself a transfeminist i think you have to respond to those girls with compassion for whatever has traumatised them into those maladaptive worldviews instead of epically dunking on them for Content
Imaginal Disk is definitely my top contender for album of the year. I was semi-familiar with Magdalena Bay prior to its release and this really feels like they've elevated their sound into something genuinely unique genre/production wise. it's such a vivid, mesmerizing piece of art, I love it.
