“suddenly it wasn’t only a personal thing to me. i could picture hundreds and hundreds of boys living on the wrong sides of cities, boys with black eyes who jumped at their own shadows. hundreds of boys who maybe watched sunsets and looked at stars and ached for something better. i could see boys going down under street lights because they were mean and tough and hated the world, and it was too late to tell them that there was still good in it, and they wouldn’t believe you if you did. it was too vast a problem to be just a personal thing. there should be some help, someone should tell them before it was too late. someone should tell their side of the story, and maybe people would understand then and wouldn’t be so quick to judge a boy by the amount of hair oil he wore. it was important to me.”

Can you do an outsiders y/n where the gang's (separate) partner has face piercing e.g lip or eyebrow
Summary: The Gang with Reader with a face piercing. Warnings: none Author's Note: piercing my helix by myself at home with conservative parents, do you think they'd notice or do i have till next summer. PONYBOY CURTIS thinks your septum is sick, he loves how it ties your whole look together and how you always pick one that represents you perfectly. He'll pick out his favorite jewelry for you to wear on specific days and he likes picking out an outfit to match. He would probably not get a piercing like you, he's a little afraid of needles and doesn't think that they would look as cool as they look on you as him. JOHNNY CADE was genuinely intimidated by people with face piercings, he thinks that it's pretty brave to stick a needle through a part of your face. He loves your eyebrow piercing, he thinks its super cute and it makes your eyes stand out more, which he thinks are beautiful. He always likes to pick up little jewelry that you might like when it reminds him of you. For your birthday he got you (along with other thoughtful gifts) a pretty little floral eyebrow piercing bar with your favorite flower on it. SODAPOP CURTIS has always wanted a piercing but was turned down by Darry. Plus he's a little hesitant to piercing himself because he too is scared of needles and 'messing up his perfect face'. He kind of lives through you and admires your jewelry. He likes to pick out jewelry that would match your outfit and his outfit for you to wear. STEVE RANDLE thinks your lip piercing is so sexy and he tells you that all the time. He likes getting you jewelry that you can experiment with, something that's unusual and not some basic lip ring. You can tell he put effort into each detail because he explains his thought process behind it all. He thinks your piercings are part of your personality and would be really sad if your took them out without a distinct reason. TWO BIT MATHEWS has always wanted to be heavily pierced, (secretly, his mom would freak), but he has such a bad fear of needles. If you are actively piercing your face, he will be there, but he wont watch. He's suprised at how little you said it hurt, but that wont stop him from being super afraid of needles still. He likes seeing what you choose as your jewelry, all he does is find you a bunch that you might like. DARRY CURTIS is, suprise suprise, more conservative. He isn't exactly turned off by the piercing, but it certainly is new to him. He thinks the piercing is cute and suits you, so much so that he starts to realise that he can't imagine you without it. He doesn't involve himself much in your personal attire, but if you ask him to buy a piece of jewelry for you, he most likely will. DALLAS WINSTON thinks the piercing makes you look hot. He doesn't try to show it and he's constantly (gently) touching it, just to see how it works. He's starting to convince himself that he needs a piercing or something but he's scared it wont look as good on him as it does on you. He likes it when you wear jewelry that matches his dog tag or rings he thinks its a subtle act of affection, which he is best at.
