he’ll attend those conventions with you, cosplaying with you as your favorite ship or character. it successfully wards off any snotty-nosed, body-pillow-toting neckbeards too from trying to cop a feel or peek up your skirt or down your top. it just takes one sharp look and they're backing off, stumbling away with muttered, incoherent apologies and more sweat pouring down their hairy backs.

you’re cute, yes, but that's only something he gets to fully appreciate.

hell, sylus will even sit there and help you put your figures together, whether it be just putting pieces in place or supplying materials for your garage kits. one of those figures is still sitting on his desk to this day.

there’s no limit to how many times he’ll swipe his card for you. anything you need, he’s there to give it to you, his beloved.

Some of y’all don’t get Sylus.

He puts on the tough exterior because it’s expected of him, and it’s necessary. The big crime boss and leader of the N109 zone (who is an excellent employer, by the way) is supposed to have this untouchable air about him. He’s supposed to be tough and cocky and unreachable. He’s supposed to be cold and nonchalant. That is the façade he puts on, but we know otherwise.

Sylus is a loverboy.

He has this hard exterior around him, at first with mc as well. His words are different from his actions. He is loving and kind and supportive. He is gentle. He is generous. He is not afraid to show his affection, and is willing to announce it to the world.

Sylus craves the affection and attention. He needs it like air. He needs the attention in bantering, and the little jokes just between him and his lover, he needs it. His words may deny it, but the way he leans into touches, how his eyes soften, how he carries himself in a totally different way and becomes SKYE a fucking fruit vendor because mc is worried.

He does not want to control or particularly manipulate his lover. He does not lie, and instead avoids because he can’t find it within himself to willingly lie to mc. He waited for her, and remembers everything. He left hints to try to help her remember him and find him.

He doesn’t turn to violence unless there is no other option. He adopted two young men that he saw were trying to assassinate him, and he simply asked them to prove themselves. He built a little bird for a reason that hasn’t been fully communicated yet, but most likely for easy surveillance. He loves Mephisto, and treats him with dignity and respect, like a living being.

He is a good man.

He is so much more then the N109 zone crime boss, and I wish more of y’all could see that.

I see some discussion / sad headcanons about whether or not the LaDS guys are actually in love with present-day MC or if they are only with her because of who she reminds them of, if they would leave present-day MC if given the choice, etc, and everyone is making themselves so sad.

I can only really talk about Sylus, but here's my take - in my head, I think he absolutely recognizes that present MC is not the same person as past MC. I think this frustrated and upset him in the beginning, when he clearly expected that he and MC would be able to quickly pick up where they left off, and he complains there must be something wrong with MC if she's unable to resonate with him. I think at this point he definitely wishes he could have his ruthless sorceress back.

I think as a little time goes on, and hinted at in Captivating Moment, he's putting together his own pieces and he's got to know MC a little more. He can see she's still bold and feisty, which he likes, but she doesn't have such a bitter heart that's consumed by revenge, and she's also kind, and playful. I think that's new for him, and I think he likes it, a lot. She's happy here, so much more happy, and I think that makes him happy. I think in Nightplumes, in my head at least, this is where he’s really realizing he can let his guard down and be more playful with this MC. I just love his reaction when she puts the snow down his neck, like she’s done something that’s surprised him, and he’s surprised by his reaction to it. I think if Sylus was somehow given the choice to stay here, or go back and be with his sorceress again, I think he'd choose to stay here.

That's my thoughts anyway.
