I was so glad to release our 'Love and Deepspace'-inspired scent line on our favourite Lemurian's birthday, so I figure it can only be fitting for him to be our first product spotlight of the line of fragrances! In creating Rafayel's fragrance, I kept returning to the 'Your Fragrance' memory card. It was a memorable one for me, being an individual who, like Raf, has a bit of a particular sensitivity when it comes to sense of smell, and it was ever in the forefront of my mind during testing for him. He can be seen in the card saying that artificial scents are too harsh for him, and irritate him to too great of an extent, so I knew anything too heavy on the aldehydes or chemical side of perfumery would be completely out of the question. Ultimately, the final combination came quite naturally; for what would a yearning, olfactory-sensitive Lemurian smell like other than home? That provided the idea of a good base of sea salt, seaweed, and driftwood to act as fresh heart notes to keep the fragrance from feeling too heavy, lifted up by the addition of a little amber to provide that subtly refined feeling Rafayel always has hanging around him; all of it topped off with some grapefruit, reflecting the sweetly tart bite of Rafayel's pouty possessiveness.

i'm surprised i haven't found something like this for LADS, so decided to document some interesting things I found while playing. i limited myself to Main Story, Kindled Memories, Moments posts, texts, interactions, (or stuff you can proc while playing) and did not include limited time events or the chibi comics.

you want him to spend $200 on skins of your favorite little virtual people? he’ll do it. you want to go to an overly expensive, poorly organized and managed anime or comic convention? he’s buying the tickets and scheduling a flight. you want to buy a limited-edition, anniversary figure that costs a car note?

sylus. will. do. it.

and he’ll be there to support you. always. he’ll sit in your gaming chair with you perched in his lap, half-lidded eyes much more focused on your rapidly changing expressions than the intense gameplay on screen.

he’ll attend those conventions with you, cosplaying with you as your favorite ship or character. it successfully wards off any snotty-nosed, body-pillow-toting neckbeards too from trying to cop a feel or peek up your skirt or down your top. it just takes one sharp look and they're backing off, stumbling away with muttered, incoherent apologies and more sweat pouring down their hairy backs.

you’re cute, yes, but that's only something he gets to fully appreciate.

hell, sylus will even sit there and help you put your figures together, whether it be just putting pieces in place or supplying materials for your garage kits. one of those figures is still sitting on his desk to this day.

there’s no limit to how many times he’ll swipe his card for you. anything you need, he’s there to give it to you, his beloved.

use him to your heart’s content. that’s what he’s for, after all.

For our second 'Love and Deepspace'-inspired product spotlight, it feels fitting to run through the love interests in order of release, beginning with our favourite artist, doctor, and hunter; and with one down, we know who's next!❄️

Our Zayne-inspired fragrance was designed to reflect Linkon's medical prodigy in both aroma and personality. Immediately, I knew that eucalyptus had to play a part in this concoction to provide that cooling aspect suggestive of Zayne's Evol, while linking into the herbal cleanliness of a hospital environment alongside a touch of juniper berry - without making it feel too chemical. Although, as both juniper berries and eucalyptus are incredibly dominating scents in their own right, I felt it initially leaned too hard into that cool cleanliness - because, while that's most definitely a key part of Zayne's archetype as an individual, it's not all he is.

I'm almost certain the majority of Zayne-favouring LaDS players will be able to reassure me that Zayne's professionalism is only one side of the coin that makes him up: something that became even more apparent in recent event memories (Absolute Zeal, *cough cough*). There's a side to Zayne that yearns for a little something beyond the reliable rigidity of his work-heavy life, and I found the perfect way of retaining his sophistication while providing a touch of warmth was in the inclusion of a touch of bergamot.

In truth, I can also imagine Zayne using a bergamot-scented soap...
