a moment of peace, after the end
My Cinnamon roll Izuku Midoriya aesthetic
The Remnants having gaps in their memories yes, so do the survivors.
Infact the only one with intact memories is Komaru (and Sho but given the game they have gaps).
She is the only one who retains her memories of the past years.
And she's also had to witness both games as they were televised.
She's always overthinking her words and afraid she's going to accidentally trigger someone.
During her time in captivity, Komaru wrote a diary of both her daily life and everything she saw.
She's never been both greatful and disgusted before.
On countless occasions she's considered burning it because the information is too personal. It's not something she should even have nevermind witnessed, but she can't...
Komaru has had the Warriors of Hope, because they remember as well, promise that they won't bring up the games or anything that happened during the last few years.
When you see the Remnants, pretend its the first time you're meeting them.
They promise before hugging her because they can see their big sis is so afraid, and Komaru hugs them back.
They've all grown up, somewhere along the line she grew up too.
She refuses to forget what she saw.
Nor will she ever voice it.
Her big brother almost died... Multiple times, Komaru would fight every monobot on earth single-handedly if it meant keeping Makoto safe.
She can't protect him forever, she hasn't been able to protect him for a long time.
But this is all she can do.
Komaru bared witness to the worst event humanity has ever known, and she can't look away.
A day will come when they ask her, and she'll have to respond. She can't lie hide it from them forever.
But whenever she sees the smiles of the Remnants, when Toko and Makoto are at ease, she wishes she could.
I just had the most fire AU idea 🔥🔥🔥
Imagine this: Makoto came out of the Killing Game of the 78th Class a lot more messed up than he did in canon, and so instead of putting the 77th class into the Neo World Program to rehabilitate them, he intentionally puts them into a virtual killing game bc he resents them for helping Junko end the world (even tho they were brainwashed or wtv but Makoto don’t care) He wants them to experience the kind of despair that he and the other survivors had to during their killing game.
Anyways Mastermind Makoto AU mfs come get ur daily rations 🗣️🗣️🗣️
The thing is that Hope and Despair are two sides of the same coin.
But in regards to Makoto he's not doing this for some thrill, but because he's hurt.
He's broken.
He knows the Remnants are wanted dead but he's decided no that's to kind.
So I'm going to intentionally steal from the government, get put on the wanted list myself just so I can cause them pain.
He's got nothing left to lose and even any enjoyment he gets from this will not change what happened to him.
But he doesn't care.
Makoto is dangling hope infront of them and making them think their safe only to take it away.
And give it back in droves.
Only to take it away when they need it the most.
Hope is a motivator.
It's what people need to survive.
So not only could Makoto be worse than Junko.
He has the capability to be so much worse.
Hajime: terrified Why... Why are you doing this to us?
Makoto: empty look in his eye knowing everything they've done Why not?
No offense to you Gozu. I'm sure you do your utmost in your assigned area. But the Future Foundation as a whole looks like it suffers from the same messed-up culture that permeated Hope's Peak. People being put into high positions of power on the flimsy basis that they're former Ultimates. Ando for example being put in charge of food procurement in a post-Apocalyptic world. Just being a talented confectioner doesn't qualify her for such a vital role.
I do understand your concerns, however, Ruruka has proven to be a capable baker no matter what one may think of her. And thus, she has since been useful to the Foundation.
And of course, during such limited times, those who were originally alumni or took part in Hope's Peak come to together to stop Ultimate Despair from spreading across the land. For the future of not only ourselves, but the civilians as well.
Indeed. Though lately we have been falling apart at the seams.
I can only offer my condolences and do my part...
Thank you, Gozu. Your reassurance is appreciated and we are rather grateful.
Yeah.....
*sigh....* Excuse me...I'm gonna go to the bathroom...
I think I may just pace around, move my feet and stuff...
*Hina and Hiro leave the room...*
*sigh* .........'Makoto....'
This audio from Star vs the Forces of evil worked way too well in reference to how the Neo World Program works! It could have fit any character but I always associate Star with Sonia so I decided to use her!
Fun fact, within a day of posting this on tiktok it became my second highest viewed video ever and highest viewed animation I’ve done which is wild! (It’s currently at 163.0k views!!)
I'm thinking about that one post that went "Amnesia but you're haunted by your scars" post, talking about how wiping someone's memory in fiction doesn't completely erase the trauma they went through, and I just immediately look to DR2's cast and go "... Yeah."
I think Makoto was well meaning in wanting to wipe their memories of being remnants and putting them in an island paradise, but like. That's not therapy. That's not healing. That's only covering the scars on their hearts with an ill-fitted bandaid.
Even without the KG for that game, I think the Remnants would have like, sensations of fear they can't explain, sensations of trauma they can't address.
I don't think it's cruel to want to erase someone's painful memories... but I don't think that's a solution, either.
yuma in the last defents
