a hundred different kisses: send me a number and a ship
Emily was laying on her bed on top of the covers reading over a case file. She looked up when JJ came out of the bathroom freshly showered. Her hair was wet and down around her shoulders and to Emily she had never looked so soft. She was wearing an old college t-shirt of Emily's and gray sweatpants. Emily stared at them.
"What?" JJ asked, noticing the stare.
Emily put the file down and got up to walk over to her girlfriend. She stood close and looked down at the sweatpants then up at JJ. She raised a brow and hooked her finger into the waistband and tugged JJ closer. "I think those are mine," she said.
"I know," JJ replied, seemingly flushing.
"You're wearing my clothes."
"They're comfortable," JJ defended.
Emily was close enough to smell JJ's shampoo and body wash, and it overtook her. The truth was, it was hot seeing JJ in her clothes. It was...domestic. Not something Emily had ever thought she wanted. She pulled JJ impossibly closer by the waistband of the sweatpants. She stared into JJ's ocean eyes and then kissed her. JJ's arms went around Emily's neck as she kissed back. It was slow, steady, and burned with their connection. A connection they'd had from the first time they met. Emily deepend the kiss, thankful that she could. She started to push the sweatpants down and JJ stepped out of them.
"You don't like me in your clothes?" JJ asked softly between their kisses.
"Oh, I do," Emily said, pushing JJ towards the bed. "I just think they'd look better on my floor." JJ smiled warmly, and Emily was struck with not only desire, but comfort and a sense of deep love for the woman in her arms. JJ's smile always did that to her. She pulled from JJ slightly and reached under the shirt to pull it over JJ's head, leaving her in her sports bra and underwear. "You're so beautiful," Emily murmured.
JJ flushed again, but pushed Emily down on the bed. "I like when you tell me that." She joined Emily on the bed and they lay on their sides facing each other.
Emily knew she didn't tell JJ what she was thinking enough, and she felt badly about it, but old habits were hard to break. Even with an amazing girlfriend. She swallowed and brushed JJ's wet hair back. It was time. "I...uh, I love you, Jage."
JJ beamed. She leaned in and softly kissed Emily's lips. "I love you too, Em." She watched Emily's face closely and Emily felt herself slipping mentally. Going back to that place where she didn't share. But then JJ put a hand to her cheek and just smiled at her, and Emily came back.
"We really just said that?" Emily asked.
"Yeah, we did," JJ said. She brushed her lips to Emily's. "And I'm so glad you said it, Em." She kissed her again. "Thank you."
Emily wrapped her arm around JJ and pressed their bodies flush. "I've felt it for so long," she admitted.
"Me too," JJ said. They stared into each other's eyes, not speaking anymore, bit through their gaze. Emily kissed JJ's forehead, then her cheek, her jaw, her throat. JJ sighed.
"I need you," Emily finally whispered.
"You have me," JJ replied. "You've always had me."
I’ve got you

The Morning Show - 3x09: Update Your Priors
Something that I really like about the Barbie movie is that while there's this dialogue about how Barbieland is the real world in reverse, it's clear that the Kens don't have it as bad in Barbieland as women do in the real world. Yes, it's an unequal society which leaves Ken unsatisfied, but he doesn't face the sexual violence and danger that Barbie does in the real world. And I like it because there are so many movies or books where matriarchy is described as terrible and oppressive and just as bad as patriarchy, as if women in power would treat men the same way men have treated women for millennia. And the Barbie movie subtly interrogates that - like yes, the Kens not having power in society does block their self-realization, and it would be better for them if society was truly egalitarian, but in the meantime, they get to sit around on the beach all day and go to fun parties. Barbie under matriarchy does not wield the same oppressive power as real men in the real patriarchal world, showing that the problem with our world isn't just that men hold more political and economic power, but how they wield that power to terrorize women.
I’m not going to be disappointed by Jemily not being canon cos honestly how can it be at this point but I am going to be disappointed if we don’t get any important, poignant moments of them together. Whether you ship it romantically or not, they were so damn important to each other at one point that they would drop everything and anything, cross continents and oceans to be at the other’s side. JJ was Emily’s only constant during Paris. JJ hallucinated Emily during her torture - not her husband, not her child, not any of the people she saw daily at that point, but Emily. Not to minimise any of their friendships with other team members but they were undoubtedly each others person. If we don’t even get a single breadcrumb in this revival - after barely anything in the last three seasons - it’s disingenuous to the characters.
she’s a 10 but she killed her brother for you for your friends don’t you understand what you’ve done
