“What you see in other people is a reflection of yourself. A person of goodness sees goodness in others and a person of evil sees evil in others.”
— Shaykh Omar Suleiman
How can you look up to the stars every night and not believe in who created them?
Your impact on other people is bigger than you think. Someone still giggles when they think of that funny thing you said. Someone still smiles when they think of the compliment you gave them. Someone silently admires you. The advice you give has made a difference for people. The support and love you've offered others has made someone's day. Your input and opinions have made someone think twice. You're not insignificant and forgotten. Your existence makes a positive difference, whether you see it or not.

the moment I feel ignored or unimportant is the moment I emotionally check out
When you become aware of how you talk to yourself, you may be shocked. We beat ourselves up for making a mistake, we lash out when we think we're not smart enough, we often say things that make us feel unworthy and unimportant, and most of all we think thoughts that give us the feeling that we don't matter.
Spend some time today noticing how you speak to yourself and begin replacing these self deprecating thoughts with thoughts of love for yourself, respect for the human being that you are, thoughts of encouragement, patience, and kindness for yourself. And most of all say to yourself often when life feels overwhelming, "This too shall pass, my life and I matter.”
I think twice about who really deserves my energy these days

Be a reflection of what you'd like to receive. If you want love, give love. If you want truth, be truthful. If you want respect, give respect. What you give out will return to you.
I find it so fascinating that the names for some colours in Urdu are actually just descriptive words. Some examples: - aasmani - sky blue - aasman means sky and ‘i’ is added to make it an adjective just like ‘ly’ or ‘y’ is added to a noun in English - badaami - light brown - badaam means almond (they’re talking about the inside of an almond though) - bangani - purple - bangan means eggplant - gulabi - pink - gulab means rose (this is the ‘official’ word for pink in Urdu)
“It was always that way for me. After I opened myself to someone, I needed a few minutes to close down again, to restore my sense of privacy.”
— Dia Reeves

“disappointed, but not surprised” has been my biggest mood this year.
