unpopular opinion (or not?) but I think the reason Jun-ho didn’t tell Gi-hun that the Front Man was his brother wasn’t because Jun-ho wanted Gi-hun to trust him and agree to work with him.
Jun-ho purposefully kept his brother’s name and face a secret from Gi-hun because he knew Gi-hun wanted to kill his brother, and he’d be making it easier for Gi-hun to achieve that if he told Gi-hun who the Front Man was and what he looked like. and despite what In-ho did, Jun-ho still loves and cares about him. and that’s the real reason he kept the Front Man’s identity a secret from Gi-hun AND from his fellow police officers.
Jun-ho, while wanting and trying to stop In-ho, doesn’t want In-ho dead. he’s still protecting his brother. in this essay I will —
Malá Morská Víla (1976) dir. Karel Kachyña
Emily Dickinson, from a letter to Catherine May Scott wr. c. August 1848
Lee Byung-hun as Hwang In-ho | Mads Mikkelsen as Doctor Hannibal Lecter | The Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel
what if in season 3 we got a scene, parallel to the cliff scene in season 1, where Jun-ho held out his hand for In-ho to take and In-ho actually took it? 🥹
AU where Jun-ho finds his brother’s island and just starts living there so he can be close to In-ho and keep an eye on In-ho at the same time, despite the many attempts In-ho made to try to get him out. (Jun-ho’s too stubborn and just keeps coming back.)
also Jun-ho has his own YouTube channel where he does food ASMR from the arena where the games are played. turns out the guards like him (they call him the Nicer Hwang) and enable his behavior / YouTube channel too.
In-ho is losing his mind.
