Imagine how cunty it’d be if when In-ho and Gi-hun saw each other face to face again it was Gi-hun sitting on the Front Man’s chair (that one chair In-ho always sat on), In-ho thought Gi-hun was still down there in the dormitory with the rest of the Players when he walked into his office, still wearing the Front Man’s mask, and suddenly Gi-hun turned the lights on, still seated on In-ho’s chair and said, “Hello In-ho.”
OR
Imagine this being how In-ho and Jun-ho reunited. Jun-ho sitting on the Front Man’s chair and catching In-ho off guard by saying something like, “Hello, hyung.”

Apparently the Squid Game director made the cast test out the pentathlon game to figure out the right time limit, and now all I can picture is a cursed behind-the-scenes AU where Inho is like:
“Circle guards, we’re playtesting. Mask up. Game time.”
So now you’ve got a bunch of poor exhausted guards, who thought today was just gonna be corpse disposal and trauma, suddenly lined up for Red Light, Green Light like it’s gym class. And then Inho shows up—fully masked, trench coat flapping in the wind like some kind of dystopian PE teacher—and joins the game.
He’s doing everything with them, completely dead serious. They’re crawling through the honeycomb challenge and Inho’s right there, carving his shape with surgeon-level precision, muttering “Inconsistent sugar texture. We need a 12.3% longer boil.” like it’s a bomb diffusal exercise.
me thinking about how Jun-ho doesn't know In-ho ordered the captain to save and rescue him after he shot him off the cliff, how Jun-ho doesn't know that In-ho never actually tried to kill him, how Jun-ho has no idea that hurting him haunts In-ho as much as In-ho's betrayal hurts Jun-ho, how Jun-ho never knows that In-ho tries keeping Jun-ho away from the island for Jun-ho's own safety, how Jun-ho believes In-ho — his own brother whom he looked up to his entire life, his own hero — hates him. and if one of them dies, Jun-ho will never know any of these.
also how In-ho has no idea Jun-ho keeps the Front Man's identity a secret from Gi-hun and his own fellow police officers to protect him, how In-ho must think Jun-ho hates him now.
me thinking about how much I want the Hwang brothers to reunite and be happy again, how I want them both to live and be brothers again
canon divergence where Jun-ho sneaked into the island and broke into In-ho’s personal quarters like he did in season 1 (where he broke into the Front Man’s room), not knowing the Front Man was his own brother. then he saw a photo on the Front Man’s desk, and at first he paid it no mind, until he did a double take and realized and the photo the Front Man had framed — in a sentimental, loving manner — on his desk was Jun-ho’s own photo smiling at the camera. and it’s the photo In-ho took.
Jun-ho: “what the actual fuck?”
“if I can’t have you then no one can” trope but instead of two characters who are (or were) outright lovers, it’s two characters who are each other’s archenemies and the feelings are mutual in the sense that they both have these extremely unhealthy obsession which they hold towards each other, and so they become possessive and jealous if the other ever touches someone else, be it lover or another enemy that isn’t them. be it by fucking someone else or fighting someone else that isn’t them.
“if I can’t have you then no one can” trope where you and I are enemies, but you are mine and mine alone and I am yours and yours alone. I am the only one who can touch you and you are the only one who can touch me. I’m the only one who can hurt you and you’re the only one who can hurt me. you have me. and if I can’t have you then I’ll burn the world to the ground so that no one else can have you either.
yes, this is about Hwang In-ho and Seong Gi-hun
