Reading the tags on my latest drawing legit makes me want to happy cry. Like. It makes me so proud that someone else loves the way I drew Soma’s nose. Because that’s my nose. It makes me so proud that someone else loves the way I have him dressed, because that’s how my brothers and cousins dress.
You guys are great. It means the world to me to see y’all gush and say such kind and loving things about what I’m putting out there. Even if it’s just a tiny little corner of this fandom that sees it.
I can’t write the Mexican/Chicano Soma Cruz fanfics that I want (for now), so I’ll draw him instead.
He’s fun to draw anyway, and I thought it’d be nice to put him in some looser, more casual clothing.
Akechi in an Atreus Cosplay
Because Persona 5 and God of War: Ragnarök are all I can think about.
I could have fleshed out the design more, but the hour was late, and I just wanted to get this out of my brain.
I think the color yellow suits him surprisingly well.
Akechi, wearing Norse clothing, with a reindeer.
I have been itching to draw this sort of thing for at least a month for reasons. ( 1. 2. 3. )
Ganymede
I drew this back in June, but for some reason never posted it. Ganymede has always been an interesting mythological figure to me, and with the Percy Jackson series on my mind, I wanted to take a crack at what he might look like in a modern setting.
No color and a little messier this time, but I really love the way Soma looks wearing a tilmàtli, and wanted to give him one with more patterns along the edges.
I know it’s not many people that have reblogged my thing of Soma, but all the positive comments and responses so far legitimately made me cry. Thank y’all so much. Especially my other Latines.
I want more art of Soma when he’s older. I want more art of Soma being Mexican. I want more Mexican vampires in general. But I am lacking in mental fortitude and talent, so here’s all three of those things blended together, rendered with all my love and the last of my dwindling creative energy, for y’all’s viewing pleasure.
Chatting With Betty and Her Chicks
I have a lot of ideas buzzing around my head regarding Goro Akechi and Peer Gynt...
Diana Belmont, “Nobody”, and Lacrima Țepeș
Three characters for a Castlevania based D&D campaign my friends and I are planning, and I’m particularly excited about Nobody, whose backstory I will gladly get more into for anyone who’s curious. But for now, just know he bears a strong resemblance to Soma for a reason.
Didn’t really care about composition while doing this, so it feels pretty lopsided. I just kind of wanted to get their busts down. But I’ll try better next time. 😅
I felt like drawing Soma, and I felt like drawing a black dog. So here is Soma with a black dog.
After a bad bout of art block I managed to paint this lovely lady. I have no clue who she is or what she does, but I think I’ll call her Violetta. Maybe Vivi for short. :)
“I still desperately cling to the headcanon that Soma Cruz is Mexican, so I made this.”
I wish my first contribution to this fandom was some of my own art and not a recolor, but alas. All I have hidden in my folders apart from this are half-hearted doodles I won’t be posting anytime soon. 😓
But that aside, I’m pretty happy with this! And before anyone @s me. I know Soma is Japanese, that the exchange student thing was added to the English localization to make him more relatable to an American audience. But…I dunno, y’all. I still find my little rationalizations for it. He could easily have one Mexican parent and one Japanese. And the thought of him being Mexican like me just helped to further endear him to me, and I’m sure I’m not alone in that.
Where’s your heart now?
Goro as he appears in a fic I’ll probably never write. Basically him going on his own Fool’s Journey and having to navigate his way through Labyrinths rather than Palaces. There’s no way for me to get into all the other cool stuff involved, especially the Norse mythological jazz, in a concise way. So I’ll have to share those ideas another day.
I just felt like drawing Loki again.
Hopefully this isn’t too badly compressed, but I worked hard on it.
Decided to draw/paint my own version of Link for a project, and I’m legitimately shocked I managed to do as much of the background as I did.
Apologies for not posting in forever! I forgot this blog existed. 😅
I’m moving my personal side blog here now, mostly because I wanted to follow and reply to people from a blog that wasn’t an abandoned RP blog. But hopefully I’ll be throwing more here soon.
Just a quick, small doodle of Robert. I really like how the color came out.
OCs I Love But Haven’t Done Shit With ✨
I keep telling myself I’ll do the thing…and then I don’t because I’m trash.
Artwynn
“So, he’s King Arthur, but…only half of him? How does that work?”
“I dunno. All I know is it’s Merlin’s doing, and the boy can’t stay like this forever.”
Hawkeye / A Gift For Corny
I got nitpicky as per usual, but I’m finally finished and really happy with how it came out. Happy birthday, babe!
