*whispers* (I’m whispering because it’s very important that we keep this very low key)
hey, you know that ancient grimoire you’ve been searching for but can’t get shipped to your country, is probably on Anna’s Archives. Yeah… you could download it for free… pretty much any text you can think of regardless of how old it is, it’s probably on there… give it a little searchy search and you’ll probably find the entire book for free… just saying.
Having a hard copy is always nice. But when I’m trying to figure out if a grimoire is worth dumping money on… it’s always nice to have a little free trial,…
just saying ….

Ottessa Moshfegh | My Year of Rest and Relaxation
4.28-5.3
This week has been great honestly. I started back on my cut and focusing more on my weightlifting and cardio (peep the cute gym fit). I’ve been fairly productive study wise, just didn’t take pictures.
My boyfriend came up to visit me this weekend and we went hiking on Saturday and went to the gym. Side note: Emily Henry is probably my favorite romcom author and I’m getting a little sad that I’ve read all her books already lol.
I aspire to be the kind of person who'll stare at your soul from across the road and then disappear when a bus goes by.

✮⋆˙ Lent began on the 3rd and I'm giving up desserts and Instagram. I still open the app reflexively and I'm starting to realize yes maybe it really is that damn phone
✮⋆˙ Anticipating my after-exam dinner (burgers and fries because I've been craving)

lots of biochem going on this term – if i'm not working through a paper for my seminar class, i've got gels to annotate or protocols to study.
SDS-PAGE from a protein purification i did in last week's lab – not 100% pure, but i'm happy with the yield. personally i would have used more resin (that flowthrough is just begging to be repurified) but it wasn't my call.

After I came home from rowing, I couldn't move a muscle. We hadn't the time for a break out on the water and had foolishly chosen a more difficult to handle boat while also not having someone to steer it. It was exhausting to do both. I kept turning around since it was busy out on the canals and I had to steer us with the sculls myself. Nevertheless, I adore being out with the boat. The sky and sun are bright, the wind refreshing and on the shores sit happy people: reading, playing with their dogs, having a barbecue or a drink. I too treated myself but to a pizza and quiet night with a book. Despite that, I carried the exhaustion into the new day and find it difficult to focus on my Czech essays. Somehow I have the ludicrous expectation to make it perfect, all-encompassing, when a good reflection is simply dependent on a specific question and a well-conceived argument.

💛 Axy's study time: 0h
💙 Iris's study time: 4h
[Axy's sleep time was like 17h lol but in their defense they were sick and terribly sleep deprived]
Made some IT notes. I'm not drastically lagging behind on that subject anymore :)
