Chapter Twenty Eight (18+)

Chapter Twenty Eight (PG)

Chapter Thirty

Chapter Twenty Nine

It’s been a quiet, peaceful few days since you and Jawa Squad helped out the Bad Batch, and you’ve been lucky enough to be able to enjoy them with Crosshair. The war is at a bit of a stalemate currently, and everyone is taking the brief pause in fighting to be able to relax for a few days.

Crosshair had suggested going to Dohbar, but you’d immediately turned down the idea. The excuse you gave him is that you had just come from there and didn’t want to go back so soon, and because you wanted to enjoy your time with him instead of getting dragged into royal duties, which wasn’t a complete lie. You also aren’t sure how to possibly explain the sudden appearance of a child to him, especially one that looks like him and one that he is unknowingly the father of. That’s also when you decided to start making a plan on how to tell him, because you knew it had to be soon. The tides of the war were shifting, and it felt like it was coming to an end sooner than you’d expected.

This morning you wake up to an empty bed beside you, and when you look around you notice a note left on your datapad from Crosshair. You briefly read the message that he’s been called to report back to the Marauder before getting up and starting your day.

A knock on your door interrupts you as you go to begin making breakfast, and you tell them to let themself in. A few moments later, Codo appears with plates full of what you can only imagine, and smell, are breakfast foods.

“Good morning, my child,” he says, setting the plates down on your table, “how would you like some freshly made breakfast from your favorite chef?”

“Oh, Ahni made this?” you joke, earning a huff and eye roll from your former master.

“Well, seeing as this clearly isn’t up to your standards,” he says, beginning to lift the plates up, but you quickly grab them and hold them down, earning a chuckle from him.

“You know I was joking, Codo,” you say, desperately trying to keep him from taking it all away.

“I know, my child. I just want to hear you say that I’m your favorite cook.”

“You’re my favorite former master, father figure, and cook,” you say, and he smiles at you before setting everything back down.

“And you are my favorite former Padawan, surrogate daughter, and Jedi.”

“Actually, that makes me wonder something,” you say, taking a bite before continuing, “you’ve never talked about whether or not you had a Padawan before me. So, did you?”

“I, like you, was not the biggest fan of the idea of taking on a Padawan. In fact, I had told the Council once that I would only take on a Padawan if I felt as though the particular individual would help me improve my own ways with the force and my own training as a Jedi.”

“And did I do that?” you ask, setting your drink down after taking a sip.

“You did that, and so much more, my child,” he says. “I wouldn’t be anywhere close to the Jedi that I am without you, nor anywhere close to the person that I am without you. You have done so much more than you realize to shape me into who I am, and I am more than grateful for everything you’ve done for me and taught me. You are the one person in this galaxy that I would do anything for. Although I’m sure you already know this, I want you to hear me say that you truly are my daughter, and I love you unconditionally. Taking and training you as my Padawan was the best decision I have ever made.” You don’t know how to respond, so you just get up and hug Codo. He chuckles and responds by wrapping his arms around you as well, and you relish in the comfort of each other for a few seconds before your comm starts to go off.

“General Jinn, you’re needed in the hangar immediately,” a voice calls over your comm link.

“Is everything alright?” you ask, not recognizing the voice.

“Ehh, not exactly, sir. Your assistance is required to, uh
 cool things down.”

You look at Codo who seems just as oblivious to the situation as you are, so you shrug and tell him goodbye before leaving your room to head to the hangar.

When the doors of the elevator open, the sight in front of you makes your mouth gape for a second before you set your jaw stiff and plaster a serious look on your face.

“Clone Force 99,” you call as loudly and sternly as you can muster. All fighting stops and the clones look toward you. Your hands are folded over your chest and a warning glare sits in your eyes as the Batch meets your gaze.

“G-General Jinn,” one of the other clones says. He’s currently being held in a headlock by Crosshair, who glances up at you before tightening his hold.

“Let. Him. Go.”

“But Princess, you didn’t hear the things he was saying,” he responds smoothly, unfazed by your attitude.

“Would you believe me if I said, ‘I don’t care?’ Let. Him. Go. Now.” Crosshair rolls his eyes before releasing the clone, who starts to walk away before he gets the bright idea to try and take a swing at the sniper. Of course, Crosshair responds by catching his fist and violently twisting his arm. His hold on the clone didn’t last long, however, as you had made your way over to them. You shove your elbow in between Crosshair’s armor to loosen his grip while grabbing and pulling the clone away from him.

“That is enough! All of you!” you say while you drag the clone away. After you get him a safe distance from Crosshair, you let go of his arm.

“S-sorry General Jinn,” the clone stammers out. You ignore his comment as you watch the rest of them separate from Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker. The Batch all move to stand together in what you assume was supposed to look like a menacing line, only it just makes you roll your eyes.

“General Jinn,” you hear another voice from behind you, this one being from someone you severely despise. It sends a wave of disgust through you, and you tense up at its sound. “Try keeping your men in line. It would help avoid situations like this.”

“Clone Force 99 are not my men, Krell.”

“Well, they certainly seem to have taken a liking towards you. You’re the only Jedi they will work with, let alone take orders from.” You clench your fists as you keep your back to him, not wanting to see his disgusting face.

“I’m well aware of that fact, but my men are the 17th. I do not take any responsibility for the actions of these men,” you respond, waving a hand towards the Batch.

“Well, just so that you understand the situation from before you got here, CT-9904-“

“They have names!” you shout, suddenly spinning around to face the besalisk general behind you. He merely rolls his eyes at your outburst, acting as though it were a mere childish act.

“They are no closer to being real men than you are to being a true royal. You do not have the bloodline, nor the marital connections to be a royal.” You bite back the retort you want to make, about how you’d rather give up your royal status than balance it with being a General and a mother, and how you never wished to be a royal and didn’t choose the royal life for yourself. “But this is why you are one of the weaker generals. You believe these things have purpose and life beyond this war. You think they have value,” Krell says as he shoves passed you. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Wrecker about to take a step forward to confront Krell, but you hold up a hand to stop him.

“I believe that the opposite of those are the reason that you, Krell, are one of the weakest generals. You may have a high win count, but you also have the most casualties of any other general in the GAR. You have no care for anyone who dies, as long as you get the victory.”

“Because I am willing to do what is necessary to win. I wouldn’t say that makes me weak, I would argue the opposite, that it makes me strong.”

“A strong general would find a way to victory with the least amount of casualties possible,” you state. “Look, I don’t have time to argue with insolence.” You turn back to the Batch as they stand waiting. “Get on the ship,” you say as you shove Hunter and Tech aside. They give the other clones and Krell one last glaring look before following you onto the Havoc Marauder. Once inside, you stand in the door of the cockpit and pinch the bridge of your nose in frustration.

“If you would have heard what the regs-“

“Enough!” You spin around to face the men behind you, and their reactions show that they’re startled at your outburst. “You can’t keep acting like that every time one of the ‘regs’ gets on your nerves. It’s bound to happen, and I wish it didn’t, I really do, but fighting them won’t stop it from happening. It’s only going to spur them on more because they know they can get a reaction from you. Besides, I’m almost certain that they aren’t always the ones to start the confrontations.”

“Are you taking their side?” Crosshair asks, offense and slight anger seeping into his tone.

“I’m not taking anyone’s side, Cross,” you clarify, “I’m pointing out that both you and the other clone are responsible for these situations, and that neither group is innocent.”

“We spent our entire lives dealing with them bullying us and making our lives miserable, it’s only fair that we get our revenge.”

“Hate only feeds hate and violence only feeds violence,” you counter. “Revenge does nothing but fuel the tensions.”

“That’s bold coming from someone who is a part of an institution that is currently feeding the ongoing galactic war,” Crosshair sneers.

“I did not choose to have the Jedi be a part of this war,” you say, anger beginning to grow inside of you, “nor do I want this war to keep going. But the best I can do is follow orders and lead troops into battle in hopes of a surrender or treaty.”

“So, you’re just another pawn like the rest of us? You’re not any better than us clones? You’re just a good soldier that follows orders?” Crosshair retorts, and you’re taken aback at his words.

“I’ve never claimed to be better than any of you,” you defend, “in fact, I’ve done quite the opposite. Did I not just now defend your lives and value to Krell? Did I not just state that you’re more than just weapons for our use?”

“And yet here you are, leading us into yet another battle.”

“Because I was ordered to!”

“Like a mindless pawn!”

You stop then, staring at him in disgust and confusion. You don’t understand why he picked this fight with you, but you aren’t going to put up with it any longer. “I will see you guys on the battlefield,” you say, turning to walk off of the ship. Crosshair bites down on his toothpick and storms off further into the ship while the others just look at each other in confusion before Hunter shrugs and Tech walks over to the cockpit. Wrecker watches after you until the ramp closes, and then he goes up to the gunner's nest to sit with Lula.

“I see that not even you can tame those wild creatures,” Krell says as you walk off the ship. Your reaction is instant, and you don’t even think about it, you just act. Your lightsaber fits perfectly in your palm as you ignite it and swing at the Besalisk. He barely pulls out his own saber in time to deflect your attack. Rage fills your eyes, and you can see the hatred in his. “You are but the continuation of fools that you come from,” Krell states. “Your father was a fool and your master an embarrassment to the Jedi.”

His comments only fuel your rage, and you swing harder as you advance on him with attacks. You don’t respond, either, only thinking enough to decide how to try and catch him off guard. The sounds of your sabers clashing echo around the hangar, and you’re surprised that no one is trying to stop the fight.

“You are the greatest shame to the Jedi Order since your father. Not even Skywalker is as pathetic as you.”

“You think your words have some sort of effect on me,” you retort, leaning over your clashing blades to spit the words in his face. “You’re wrong.”

“Oh, but they do,” he says, letting out a grunt as he shoves you back. The force he uses sends you smashing into the side of the Havoc Marauder, which Tech had just begun to fly.

“What was that?” Hunter says, looking out of the viewport. “Something hit the side of the ship.”

“I’m not sure. Perhaps in her anger, y/n threw something against it. Or perhaps one of the other clones did.”

“Uh, guys,” Wrecker says, jumping down from the gunner’s nest, “Krell and y/n are dueling.”

“What?” Crosshair says, shoving Hunter aside to look out the viewport. “Turn the ship around.”

Tech doesn’t reply, but he does as Crosshair says. As he turns, they all see you pushing yourself back up after you fell to the ground. Krell is spinning his blades as he slowly approaches, and once up, you let out a frustrated groan while beginning to run towards him. You jump in the air and kick Krell in the face as you flip over him, landing and immediately spinning your saber around to try and slice one of his arms. You make contact, but it doesn’t have the effect you had wanted. Ideally, you would have cut his arm off, but this is just a surface wound.

“Daawa should have left you on that rotten planet instead of wasting his time training you. You’re barely even fit to be a ruler, let alone a Jedi.”

“You know nothing of my abilities of being a ruler, or my abilities of being a Jedi.”

“Oh, I know more than you think,” he retorts, spinning around and smacking you down with his arm.

“That bastard,” Crosshair says, immediately turning and heading to open the boarding ramp.

“Crosshair, be smart about this,” Hunter warns.

“Be smart about this? He’s trying to kill y/n!”

“If you’re going to shoot him, set your blaster to stun. The last thing y/n needs is for you to save her and then be decommissioned for killing a Jedi.” Crosshair sets his jaw, snorting angrily through his nose before looking outside. He kneels down and takes aim, hitting the Besalisk in his shoulder just as he swings down at you. His lightsaber drops to the ground and you manage to kick it away before righting yourself on your feet. Both you and Krell’s gazes turn to the ship, where Crosshair jumps down before slowly taking a few steps.

“Hurt her, and the next one will go right between your eyes,” he sneers, and even though his helmet is on, you can feel the intensity of his gaze.

“Well, I guess you do mean something to them after all. Too bad he can’t save your life,” Krell says before force choking both you and Crosshair at the same time. You fall to your knees as you try to breathe, but your throat feels as though there is an iron grip on it. You look up as Crosshair struggles, but somehow he manages to raise his rifle up and shoots without aiming. It hits Krell in the side, and another one follows, hitting higher on his chest. Krell’s force choke loosens, and you reach to grab your lightsaber as Crosshair shoots his knees. The Besalisk falls forward, his grip falling away as he catches himself on the ground. Crosshair stands from where he had been kneeling and walks over to you, still keeping his blaster aimed at the other Jedi.

“How badly are you hurt?”

“Not too bad,” you respond.

“Get on the ship, Tech has already commed the Council. They should be here in a minute.”

“But Cross, the Council needs to hear from us both, otherwise they might lock you up before hearing your case. I can make sure that they let you go free as long as you agree to tell them your side of the story.” Crosshair turns to look at you, and after a few seconds he removes his helmet to let you see his gaze.

“My cyar’ika,” he says quietly, “I’m sorry. For arguing with you. It wasn’t right, and I shouldn’t have said what I did.”

“I appreciate it, Cross, but is now really the best time to be apologizing?”

“Is there ever really a best time for anything?” he counters, and you roll your eyes while the side of your lips quirk up in a partial smile. “I love you, ner cyar’ika.” He leans forward and presses his lips to yours, the kiss being tender and sweet. You sigh into it, forgetting where you are and what just happened, and feeling the love swirling in the Force between the two of you. When you pull apart, he rests his forehead against yours and uses his free hand to gently brush your cheek. “Why do you put up with me?”

“Because I love you,” you respond, pulling away to look in his eyes. He opens his mouth to say something else, but your moment is interrupted by a few members of the Council entering the hangar.

“Masters Krell and Jinn,” Ki-Adi-Mundi says, “we received a comm from a clone trooper about a duel happening?”

“Yes,” Krell says, standing and turning to them. Their eyes widen slightly as they all see his wounds, and you go to step forward, but Crosshair holds you back. “Master Jinn here attacked me after exiting the ship behind us.”

“It appears that this clone trooper has attacked you as well,” Luminara states.

“He was only protecting me after Krell began to force-choke us both,” you say, finally moving past Crosshair. He remains directly behind you, though, not letting you out of his reach.

“Krell was going to attempt to kill her, and I was prepared to do anything in my ability to stop him from doing so.”

“That is quite the accusation,” Obi-Wan says, “do you have any proof?”

“I was recording the interaction through my helmet,” Crosshair states, “I can play you the video and audio of him attempting to kill her.”

“What? Impossible! I did no such thing! I was merely defending myself after she attacked me!” Krell says, fury boiling in his eyes. Crosshair steps in front of you again, his grip tightening on his blaster.

“Cross, not in front of them,” you plead quietly, and he merely huffs before settling on glaring at the Besalisk.

“I believe we shall hear both sides and review the footage that Crosshair has,” Mace says, “although I think we should wait, as Clone Force 99 has been assigned to an important mission that they have not left for yet, and time is running thin.”

“I agree,” Obi-Wan says, and Luminara nods.

“Thank you,” you say, and gently grab Crosshair’s arm and lead him back to the ship. Once on board, you head to the bunks, and sit down on Crosshair’s as he paces the room.

“I shouldn’t have let you take any of the blame,” he says, shaking his head. “With the footage I have, there was no proof that you ever attacked first. I could have told them that-”

“Lying wouldn’t have done any good,” you say, shaking your head, “besides, if they caught you lying, then who knows what kind of punishment you might receive.”

“It would have been worth it if it meant keeping you safe.”

“But what if I would have lost you? Would you want to put me through that pain?” Crosshair pauses, turning to look at you before he sighs and walks over. He lays on the bed behind you and wraps his arms around you, pulling you to lay down with him.

“No, I wouldn’t want you to go through that pain,” he says, burying his face in your neck. You smile softly to yourself, a hand going up to finger through his hair. His warm breath fans over your skin, sending small shivers down your spine at the warmth. Something tells you that he’s been very tired recently. His body feels heavier than normal, and he almost instantly falls asleep. You just hope that the flight is long enough for him to get some good rest.

“That plan is ridiculous.”

“It’s the best we got.”

“That’s barely even a plan!”

“We normally don’t have any sort of plan, we just improvise on the spot.”

“He’s right. This is better than nothing.”

“Of all the people I know, you should be the best at making plans, and not
whatever this is.”

“As Wrecker said, we normally just improvise. And as Hunter said, it is better than nothing.”

“How you guys have survived this long is beyond me,” you say, shaking your head. “How do you even expect to get into the Separatist base if you don’t clear these droids?”

“You’re thinking too deep about this, Princess,” Crosshair says, leaving his position leaning against the wall to join the group. “I’ll be stationed here in case any droids need to be compromised. Tech’s little grenade should deactivate the droids, so we won’t need to destroy them. Besides, if we make too much of a ruckus, we’ll be discovered, and that will just make things harder.”

“This is a simple data retrieval mission, it is highly unlikely that something will go wrong,” Tech adds.

“Well now that you said it,” you mumble before sighing, “alright, if you’re sure this is all we need.”

“We are. And in any case, we have back-up plans for if something goes wrong,” Hunter says. You just nod your head and look out the viewport, watching as Tech leaves hyperspace and flies into the planet’s atmosphere. As Tech lands in a covering of trees, you head to the back to make sure you’re ready, not that you carried much, though. You did take a few grenades for yourself, just in case you somehow couldn’t use your lightsaber and were trapped by droids.

You feel a pair of eyes watching you as you prepare yourself, and ignore them until a pair of arms wraps around you.

“What do you think we should do when we get back to Coruscant?” Crosshair asks, his lips lightly touching the skin of your neck.

“I’m not sure, depends on how much you stink,” you tease, and he nips you slightly in response. “In all honesty, I think I should probably have a night alone. The Council might be suspicious, especially after you were
close to me today.”

“Hmm, if you insist,” he says, kissing your cheek before going to his bunk and slipping his armor on.

“You’ve been awfully touchy and kissy lately,” you comment as he grabs his rifle and holds it up to check the sight.

“Is that a bad thing?” he asks as he adjusts some things.

“No,” you reply, “it’s nice, actually. I like when you kiss and touch me.”

“In what ways?” he asks, flashing you a smirk.

“In whatever ways you like,” you tease back, and he huffs before sticking a toothpick in his mouth. He then slips his helmet on as the others come out of the cockpit, gearing up as well.

“Alright, let’s move,” Hunter says after a few minutes, and you all head out together. You walk silently for a while before Hunter gives Crosshair a hand signal to break off. He does so silently, slipping away from your side almost unnoticeably.

Hunter and Wrecker stop at the edge of the trees, and after looking around to make sure the path is clear, you and Tech make your way over to the building. It’s a singular structure in a far off outer rim system, but the Republic had reliable information that valuable data is being stored here, so they sent you out with the Batch to retrieve it. They didn’t want to stir up unwanted attention, so they only sent a small group to handle it. Hopefully that’s all you’ll need, because you didn’t want to imagine facing a full force of droids with only five people. The Batch is capable, but you tend to prefer when the odds are in your favor.

“You almost in?” you ask Tech as he works on bypassing the security.

“I think so. However this is much more complicated and secure than their normal security, so it is taking a bit longer.”

“I hear droids coming.”

“Use one of the grenades to deactivate them,” he says, reaching to give you one. You take it and wait, letting the droids get closer before you throw it. As soon as it lands, an electric field spreads over the droids and they fall still, as if they powered down. “Good, now hurry,” Tech says as the door opens. You quickly follow him inside, and he checks both ways to make sure it’s clear before beginning to make his way around.

“Did you memorize the layout of the building?” you ask quietly, peering around the corner to check for droids.

“Yes, as a matter of fact, I did. It was quite simple, each level is set up exactly as the first, so there is really no room for confusion.” You manage climb a few levels, each being exactly the same as Tech said, before you run into your first problem.

“Huh, I thought that this hallway led somewhere else,” a droid says from somewhere nearby.

“You idiot, they all are the same.”

“I swear this one was different!”

“You need your circuits rewired,” the other says, and they step out in front of you and Tech. You quickly cut them with your saber, trying to keep the noise to a minimum.

“I thought we were trying to be quiet?” Tech asks you, giving you a look.

“Well what the kriff else did you want me to do?”

“Use another deactivation grenade,” he responds in a condescending tone.

“Well I’ll do that next time,” you say, “now get going, nerd bucket.”

“Nerd bucket?” he questions, but you just roll your eyes and shove him forward, trying to get him to move quicker. He huffs before continuing on, climbing the stairs to yet another level. As you climb, an alarm starts to go off.

“Kriffing hells,” you mutter.

“That is most likely in response to the droids that you destroyed with your lightsaber.”

“Any more comments you’d like to make, Captain Obvious?”

“No, not at the moment,” Tech retorts before diverting from the usual path. He heads to a door, and quickly unlocks it. Inside, a group of droids is working and a tactical droid is watching over them.

“Hey, you’re not supposed to be here,” one of the battle droids says before you look at Tech.

“What are you waiting for?” you ask.

“I am waiting for you to start destroying them.”

“Are we not disabling them this time?”

“Just get your lightsaber out and take care of them while I work on the retrieval,” he says before firing his blasters at the tactical droid. You huff before taking out the other droids, clearing the room quickly. “Now, keep a watch at the entrance. Others will likely come here to check on the commotion, and I need to focus on this.”

“Sir, yes sir,” you respond mockingly, turning to stand guard at the door.

“Is everything alright in there? Things are getting a bit more busy out here,” Hunter says over the comms.

“Yeah
we ran into a little situation, but we’re fine.”

“Y/n decided to use her lightsaber to take out a couple droids, and then a security alarm was set off. We also just broke into the room where the data is being stored and had to destroy some more droids, again with her lightsaber.”

“Can you maybe not talk as if you’re blaming this on me?” you shoot back, looking over your shoulder to glare at him briefly.

“Let’s go,” he responds while ignoring your comment, pulling his datastick out and putting it in his pocket. You head out of the room, destroying some droids that had just reached you, before heading to the stairs to go back down.

“I have a better idea than going down the stairs and through all these droids,” you say, and he stops and raises a brow at you.

“Enlighten me, please.”

“Just go out a window,” you say, and he thinks about it for a moment before shrugging.

“There should be one in this room over here,” he says, leading you to an unlocked room. You head over to the window and ignite your saber, cutting through the transparisteel to make an escape. You hear Tech firing his blasters non-stop, and you can only imagine what it’ll be like when you get outside.

“They’re cutting a way out!” you hear one of the droids shout into a comm, “prepare the base! We can’t let them get away with the data!”

“Good job,” Tech says, “now instead of us fighting them all on our way out, they’ll shoot us as we jump down.”

“What is with you today?” you counter, kicking the window out. “You’re being very moody.”

“I had a perfectly good plan that was compromised because you did not follow it.”

“Oh for the love of the Maker,” you say before reaching back and grabbing Tech with the force, flinging him out the window and jumping out after. You drop him to the ground and barely catch yourself in time, but you’re completely surrounded by droids when you land. Almost immediately, blaster fire fills the air, both from the droids and from the Batch.

“Wrecker has placed some bombs on the ground, I’m back on the ship and preparing to fly closer for a quick exit. Everyone, be ready to duck and run when we give the signals,” Hunter says. You don’t acknowledge his words, instead focusing on the enemy that surrounds you.

“Y/n, Tech, draw the droids back over this way, that’s where the bombs are,” Wrecker says, and you find him and begin trying to make your way over to him. Droids around you are shot down, no doubt by Crosshair’s rifle. You keep Tech in your sight, making sure he’s not in any trouble. “Alright, if you guys could get out of there, that would be great! The droids are in the perfect position to be blown to bits.”

“Tech, I’m going to throw you again,” you say, and he turns and fires towards the ground as you lift him up and throw him out of the mass of metal. You then jump forward, landing just outside the circle. Wrecker and Tech are already running towards the ship, and you’re the only one still close to the droids. You don’t care, though. As long as Wrecker’s explosives work, you’ll be fine.

Wrecker shouts a warning to duck as he hits the button, and you do as he says, trying to shield yourself from the debris of droids blown to pieces. A distant and brief stinging pain sears through your leg, freezing your body for a second before it goes numb. You think nothing of it, assuming it’s just a blaster shot or small surface wound from a piece of metal flying past. It’s not until you straighten back up and begin to start running to the ship that you realize what it is.

A shrill scream leaves you as you fall over, barely catching yourself as you lurch forward. You might as well have just let yourself faceplant because your hands sprawl out in the mud beneath you, causing your face to get covered anyway. You roll yourself over and look at your leg, now throbbing in immense pain. You feel the blood drain from your face as you stare at a thick stick of metal protruding from your thigh and the blood that surrounds it. You reach out and grab it, thinking that you could just pull it out yourself, but the pain from even just slightly moving it pulls another scream of pain from you.

“Y/n, where are you? You’re supposed to be back on the ship by now!” Hunter asks over the comms.

“I need someone to come get me,” you say, your voice trembling with pain, “I can’t walk.”

“I’m coming, cyar’ika,” Crosshair responds immediately, and you turn yourself to face towards the ship, hoping he can find you amidst the mud. You see him looking around, trying to find you, and you wave an arm and call out to him. His head instantly snaps to face the direction of your call and you see his body go rigid when his eyes find you, but he only freezes for a fraction of a second before he’s sprinting towards you. “Oh my, cyar’ika what happened to you?” The sentence isn’t a question, it’s a distraught comment from him as he takes in your appearance.

“I can’t pull it out myself, it hurts too much,” you explain.

“I won’t try it either. You’re too muddy and we don’t want it to get infected. I’ll carry you back to the ship and Tech can take care of it.” You nod, and he bends down to gently snake one arm under your legs and the other around your back. You wrap your arms around his neck and bury your face against his armor, trying to hide the winces of pain that you feel with every running step he takes back to the ship. “Tech!” he yells as soon as he gets inside. His brother is immediately at his side, his eyes widening under his goggles as he takes in your appearance.

“Help her clean off in the refresher and I’ll set the course for the ship. Once done, we will meet back in the bunk area and I will remove the protruding object.”

“What about her clothes? I won’t be able to take her pants off with this stuck in her.”

“Cut them off, preferably both above and below the wound. We don’t want anything getting in the way. We can cover her modesty with a towel as I work.”

“I’m not the biggest fan of that,” Crosshair mumbles before you snap at the both of them.

“I’m not the biggest fan of a piece of metal stuck in my leg, so stop karking talking and help me!” Both of them exchange a brief glance before Crosshair carries you to the refresher and Tech goes to the cockpit. Hunter sets his vibroblade on the counter before Crosshair closes the door.

“I’ve never done this before, so I apologize if it hurts-”

“This karking piece of metal hurts!” you yell, glaring at him as though he’s crazy. He opens his mouth to retort but quickly snaps it shut, knowing that you’re only acting this way because of the pain you’re in, and it’s not the time for him to snap back. You let out small hisses of pain as the fabric of your pants slightly moves against the metal, making it move slightly back and forth with his cutting motions. Once the bottom of the pant leg is off, he carefully lifts your leg to cut at the top. He doesn’t go all the way up, leaving a small bit to cover you and to keep the waistband intact so that the other pant leg stays up.

“Okay, I’m going to move you to the sanisteam to clean off the mud and blood.”

“Just hurry up,” you say, knowing that this will likely be the second most painful part of the process. He gives you a quick kiss on the forehead before setting you down and turning on the water. You squeeze your eyes shut and tightly grip his shoulder as he lathers soap over your leg. Water, soap, blood, and mud mix in the tub around you, and you pray to the Maker that this ends soon. Crosshair works quickly and carefully, seeing the utter pain etched on your face.

“Alright, I’m going to take you back out now,” he says, snaking his arms under you once again and carrying you to his bunk. “Tech!”

“Coming!” he responds, running out of the cockpit. He kneels down, examining the situation. “This is a very deep wound, you will likely need to take an extended leave in order for it to heal properly.”

“I don’t care about that right now, just get this karking piece of metal out of my leg!” you yell, gritting your teeth to fight the pain. He nods before reaching out and hesitating, looking at you again.

“This might hurt-“

“Tech!” you yell, looking at him with a harsh stare, “I’m already in pain!”

“Right,” he says before he grabs the top of the metal stick. “I suggest you bite something to fight the pain and urge to scream,” he says.

“For the love of the Maker!” you yell, grabbing Crosshair’s rifle and biting down on the barrel. Crosshair might have found the sight of his blaster in your mouth arousing in another situation, but not while you’re screaming in pain and bleeding.

“Do you want me to count?” Tech asks.

“Just do it already!”

With that, you feel a horrible pain as he yanks it from your leg, causing you to scream as you bite down onto the blaster. Tech quickly begins cleaning your wound, which only makes it feel worse. Tears stream down your face as your jaw tries to clench. You suck in a breath through your teeth, the sound a violent hiss coming from you.

“This should help with the pain and healing,” he says before he jabs a needle into your leg next to the wound. After that, he quickly wraps your leg tightly to help stop the bleeding. When he’s finished, you sit up and let out a deep breath. Taking his blaster back, Crosshair notices small teeth shaped indents where you had bitten down.

“I think we should be getting you back to the Jedi temple,” Hunter says from the doorway.

“I’m fine,” you respond, swinging your legs over to the side of the bed. You put your feet on the ground, but when you put pressure on your leg, you nearly fall over as pain shoots through your body. Crosshair is by your side instantly, holding you up as you hiss in pain.

“Sit, cyar’ika. You’re in no condition to stand, let alone fight,” he says while helping you back down.

“Besides, I successfully retrieved the data we were intended to bring back, so there is no reason to continue fighting,” Tech adds. “Clearing the planet of the Separatist forces was not our objective.”

“Fine,” you say, letting the weight of the wound hit you. You feel tired, adrenaline already draining and leaving you exhausted.

“I would prefer if you remained awake, due to the amount of blood you could have lost,” Tech says, “however, we can route the ship to the nearest medical station if you’d like to rest a little.”

“Just take me wherever you think is best,” you respond before unconsciousness takes over.

When you wake up, you’re in the all too familiar medical center on Coruscant. On one side of the room is the Batch, and on the other side is Jawa Squad.

“Mesh’la,” Sans says when he notices you’re awake, and he stands up, but Crosshair is at your side quicker. He shoots Sans a look before he focuses on you.

“Tech told you to stay awake, Princess,” he jokes, softly kissing your forehead before he kisses your nose. “You did quite the opposite.”

“Thank the Maker that I didn’t lose too much blood, then,” you reply. “How long was I out?”

“The whole trip back, plus two hours,” Hunter says. “Had us all pretty worried.”

“I put Lula by your side in case you woke up and we were asleep,” Wrecker adds.

“Thanks for helping me out, Tech,” you say, “and thank you for saving me, Crosshair.”

“You’re welcome,” Tech replies.

“Anything to ensure your safety, cyar’ika,” Crosshair says, giving you a soft kiss before straightening up. “Unfortunately, we have to report back to Kamino. Holo me when you can,” he says, and you nod before watching the Batch leave.

“So, we heard about your little
interaction with General Krell,” Steele says.

“It was one of the stupidest things you’ve ever done,” Hex states, “but thank you. Standing up to him for one of us is standing up for all of us. It’s too bad you couldn’t have killed him.”

“That woulda gotten her thrown into jail,” Tie counters, “but you did cut his arm up nicely. Well done, y/n.”

“Thanks,” you say, sitting up before being gently pushed back down by Aid.

“Don’t even try me, y/n,” he warns. “You’re not going to be going anywhere for at least a few days. Your leg needs to heal and your body needs to produce more blood. Also, the Council still needs to hear your case, and I highly doubt they won’t take advantage of your state, and will probably decide to take your case while you’re unable to make excuses as to why you can’t.”

“Okay okay, I’ll stay here,” you say, and then you notice Lula at your side. “Kriff, can someone go run and give this to Wrecker for me since I can’t?”

“He’ll be fine. Besides, I think he’d rather you have it for company when we’re not here,” Sans says. “Speaking of which, we actually need to head out. We have some training to do early tomorrow.”

“Alright, thanks for staying with me and waiting for me to wake up,” you say.

“Of course, we’ll always take care of you, mesh’la,” Sans says, taking your hand and kissing the top of it before he leaves with the others. You sigh, staring at the ceiling before closing your eyes. You’re not tired anymore, but there’s nothing to do and no one to talk to. Or so you thought.

“Would you care to explain why I was informed that my former padawan was attempting to kill another Jedi?” Codo says as he walks in, and you pretend to be asleep and not hear him. “I know you’re awake, Sans and the rest of Jawa Squad only just left your room.”

“He was insulting the clones,” you say, opening your eyes and shrugging. “I was defending them.”

“Not by taking his life, you weren’t,” he counters.

“Listen, he’ll never stop unless someone does some damage. We can’t convince him any other way.”

“Do you intend to hurt and kill everyone in the galaxy who does not see the clones as having valuable lives?”

“If I have the time, yes.”

“I’m being serious, y/n.”

“And I am too,” you say. “Why shouldn’t we fight for them?”

“I’m not saying that, but I’m saying that violence is not the answer.”

“For some people, it is,” you counter. “They won’t listen any other way.”

“Then you need to accept that their opinions are different from your own.”

“I shouldn’t have to if they’re harmful. If someone said insulting things about Mon Calamari, I would do the same thing and defend them in all possible ways.”

“I know that you think such negative opinions are wrong, and they are, but sadly it’s the way of the universe. There will unfortunately always be people who think another group is inferior.”

“It’s disgusting. We’re all sentient beings, none of us are inherently worse or better than others. No matter what we look like, where we come from, what we believe, what we speak, or what we do. I wish everyone would just understand that.”

“I know, my child. I wish that they would too.”

“Is the Council going to question me while I’m here?”

“Not today, but probably tomorrow or the day after,” Codo confirms, and you sigh. “I can help you prepare your statement if you’d like.”

“Yeah, that sounds like a good idea,” you say, and he nods. “Can we work on it now?”

“Sure, as long as you’re not tired,” he says, and you smile at him and push yourself up slightly, but a ping immediately goes off when you do.

“Don’t you dare move another inch,” Aid suddenly warns over the comms.

“Did you put a motion sensor on my bed?”

“Yes, because I know you, y/n.”

“You’re insane.”

“I’d argue that you’re the insane one.”

“I just want to sit up a bit more so that me and Codo can work on my statement for the Council.”

“Fine, just don’t stay up for more than an hour at a time, understand?”

“Yes, I understand, Aid.”

“Codo, keep a watch on her for me.”

“Of course, Aid,” he says before the comm ends and you guys get to work.

Warnings: smut, unprotected p in v, fingering f receiving, oral m and f receiving, edging, teasing, brief nipple play

The sounds of many feet sprinting past your door wakes you up in the morning. Delightful squeals are surrounded by the sounds of a few chuckles, as well as two voices warning to be careful. The feet run past your door again, and the squeals and chuckles follow. You roll your eyes, smiling to yourself as you throw the covers off of you and head to your door. As you open it, the boys run by again, Cyar’ika in Tie’s arms as the others chase him.

“What are you guys up to?” you ask, and they stop and smile at you.

“We’re seein’ who can hold onto Cyar’ika the longest before someone taps ‘em. When they do, we ‘ave to give ‘em Cyar’ika and they ‘ave to run and try to not let the others catch ‘em.”

“You’re playing a version of ‘tag’ with my child?” you question, raising an eyebrow at them. Tie nods, and you just shake your head with a small smile. “And how is my little princess doing this morning?” you ask, reaching out to take her. Tie pulls her away, a smirk coming to his face.

“Not so fast, y/n. Ya gotta catch me first,” Tie says before breaking into a sprint.

“I’m not chasing you to be able to hold my own child!” you call after him before turning to the others.

“I don’t think he’ll give her up unless you catch him,” Hex says, and you just sigh before taking off after him. It doesn’t take much for you to catch up, and sure you might have used the force a little bit to slow him down, but soon enough, you tap him and he stops to hand her over.

“Game over,” you say when the others catch up. “We’re not playing ‘tag’ with my daughter anymore.”

“Party pooper,” Sans mumbles, and you shoot him a glare before smirking as you respond.

“For that comment, you get to change her poopy diapers for the entire day,” you say, and he opens his mouth to argue, but you shake your head.

“You’re mean,” he replies, narrowing his eyes and sticking his tongue out at you. Cyar’ika giggles at him before trying to imitate his expression. “You know what, I’m fine with changing poopy diapers if it means I get to spend more time becoming her favorite uncle,” he says, wiggling a finger in her face.

“Psh, as if you’ll ever be her favorite,” Aid retorts, and Sans turns to him to glare.

“You don’t stand a chance either.”

“I have a better chance than you.”

“I think currently, Hex has the best chance,” you cut in, and the others give you offended looks while Hex looks on proudly.

“I am pretty great, aren’t I?” he says, and you just roll your eyes and laugh before leading them off to get breakfast.

“Are you the ones making all that noise in the halls?” Ahni says as the boys follow you into the dining room.

“Us? Make noise? Never,” Steele replies, and Ahni just laughs before setting out plates for them.

“You know, you should never lie to your cook,” she starts, “they could end up poisoning your food.”

“Ah, you would never hurt us,” Sans counters, waving a hand dismissively.

“Hmm, perhaps you’re right, or perhaps my kindness is an illusion of who I really am.”

Steele snorts at that, rolling his eyes while taking a bite of his food. “Yeah. You could never be mean. You’re too sweet and caring.”

“Oh really? Is that a test?” she teases, and Steele shakes his head.

“No, I’d prefer to keep living in a galaxy where I only know nice Ahni.”

Ahni sits down next to Kwol, and she offers a smile to Steele. “Well, hopefully you will get to.”

“I, on the other hand, have definitely witnessed an Ahni that is
” Kwol starts, but pauses when Ahni gives him a warning look. “An Ahni that is not the same that you have always known,” he finishes carefully, and she gives him a side eye before looking down at her own plate to begin eating.

“Don’t worry, Crosshair has seen many sides of y/n,” Sans says, “and he’s doing just fine.”

“Since when are you an expert on my relationship?” you question, and Sans just gives you a look that seems to say “it’s obvious.”

“What are everyone’s plans for today?” Ahni asks, and you open your mouth to begin when a beeping from Sans’s comm interrupts

“It’s the Council,” he states, and answers it.

“Commander Sans, we hate to interrupt your
vacation,” Mace says from the other end, “but we have been informed that Commander Bly and General Secura are in need of assistance on a planet near Dohbar. We were wondering if you would be able to head over and help out.

“Well, General Windu,” Sans begins, “it’s only me, General Jinn, and Jawa squad here. The six of us won’t be much help.”

“Actually, I was hoping to talk to King Barren about that. Is he around and free?”

“Yes, he’s right here with me,” Sans says. Kwol gives you a confused look and you just shrug, and he moves to sit next to Sans.

“Hello, Master Windu. This is King Barren.”

“Hello, King Barren. As I’m sure you heard, we are hoping to have Commander Sans lead reinforcements to help aid Commander Bly and General Secura. We also understand that the rest of the 17th battalion is here on Coruscant. We are asking on the behalf of the Republic Alliance to have soldiers from Dohbar help-”

“Absolutely not,” Kwol interrupts, his tone firm and final. “Dohbar may have a senator in the Galactic Senate, but we are still a neutral system, and will remain so.”

“Please, it would only be for one battle.”

“It will never be only one battle for you,” Kwol counters. “Our assistance in one battle would put Dohbar on the Separatist’s radar, and we will be exposed to attacks on our planet and in our system. Dohbar will not risk its neutrality for your war.”

“And does Queen Monako share your sentiment?”

“Yes,” you respond. “Although I am a general in the GAR, I am a queen to Dohbar first. My people’s safety here is always my priority. I will not send my own army to fight in a battle that we are not, and will not ever, be involved in.”

“I understand, General Jinn,” Mace replies. “I am sorry to have bothered you all. We await your return to Coruscant tomorrow.” The comm ends after that, and the men of Jawa Squad share silent, conflicted looks with each other.

“Are you sure we can’t just take even a small force to help-”

“No, Aid,” you say, cutting him off. “Dohbar will not get involved in this war. I will not set my people on that path.”

“But you’ll allow us to keep fighting on the front lines?” Steele asks, a sour tone coming to his voice.

“It’s different for you guys.”

“Why? Because we’re bred for this? Because we’re just tools for the Republic?” Tie asks, jumping into the argument.

“No, well, in a way, but you’re not tools, not in my eyes. But you are soldiers of the Republic.”

“We didn’t get a choice in the matter,” Steele counters.

“I know, but as a queen and a general, I need to do what’s best for my people, even if I’m not always able to for my troopers,” you try to explain, but it only seems to make them more upset.

“So you’ll fight for them but not us? You’ll refuse the Council’s request for your people but will only try to fight them for us?” Aid says, pitching in.

“That’s not anywhere near true,” you say, trying to suppress the anger that wants to come out. “I fight for you all the time! I’ve straight up refused to let you go into battles that I knew were not going to end well, and make sure you get plenty of rest when you need it!”

“But you still let us run into battle and die for the Republic, but you won’t let your own people do that,” Sans says, keeping his eyes down and not looking at you.

“Hex, you of all people should understand me,” you reply.

“But we don’t, General,” Sans says, standing from his seat. “I don’t think this conversation should continue. Jawas, let’s go. We’ve finished eating, and we should all just calm down.”

“Or we could go help Commander Bly and General Secura ourselves, because y/n refuses to do it herself.”

“You are not understanding me,” you defend, and Sans holds up his hand in a motion for silence.

“I said this conversation is over. Boys, let’s go. General Jinn,” you cringe at his use of your title, but raise your gaze to meet his, “we can talk later.”

“Sans
” you start, but you don’t know what to say. You don’t have to say anything, though, because he understands how fighting with them hurts you deeply. He knows that you can only do so much for them, and that you’re able to do more for your people. He also knows that, if you had the power, you’d protect them and everyone else in the 17th like you protect your people.

As they leave, you feel yourself lose your appetite. You sit and move your food around your plate absentmindedly for a few minutes before deciding to get up and clear your mind. Ahni and Kwol ask if you’d like company, but you say no, and that you were going to spend some time with Cyar’ika.

You carry Cyar’ika out to your garden and sit with her under your favorite tree. You set her down and watch her crawl around, looking curiously at everything around her. You can’t believe how much she’s grown and learned in only a few months. Time seems to be going by too fast, and you wish you could spend more of it with her. But as your earlier conversation mentioned, you are a general, and you have your duties to your troopers. But you’re also a mother, and a queen, and that just adds to all the responsibility you have to balance.

“What am I going to do with everything?” you sigh, reaching out and brushing Cyar’ika’s silver hair from her eyes. She looks up at you with her sparkling eyes and you melt in her gaze. “You better not start using your adorableness on me to get your way, little princess,” you say, giggling as she looks at you blankly. “You and your father are going to get along so well some day. He’ll probably spoil you to the point where it’s a problem.” You huff in amusement at the idea of it and shake your head as you smile. You pick her up and take her into your arms, letting her cuddle up to you. “I hope I’m a good mother for you,” you whisper quietly, staring off into the distance. As if in response, you sense feelings of comfort and assurance coming through the force. You pull back slightly and look down at your daughter, and smile after a few seconds. “My little Jedi princess,” you say, “just like her mother.”

~~~
A knock at your door stirs you from your thoughts, and you pull yourself back to reality. You look down and groan slightly at the documents still pulled up on your datapad, still unread and unsigned. “I’ll do that tomorrow,” you mumble to yourself before heading to your door. You open it, and the boys of Jawa Squad are standing outside of it.
“Hey, y/n,” Steele says, “we’d like to talk to you again.”
“Of course,” you say, moving to the side and motioning them in. They all find a seat in your room, and you sit down with them.
“First of all, I’m sorry for starting the argument earlier,” Steele says, and you nod. “It was very uncalled for and
I didn’t fully understand your words and I just jumped into an argument.”
“None of us fully understood your words, but we took the time to try to after our argument,” Aid continues. “Sans helped us try to understand better as well.”
“We know that there’s only so much you can do for us,” Tie adds, “and we’re thankful for everything that you are able to do.”
“It hit a nerve in all of us when you were so adamant about keeping Dohbar out and neutral, especially when we have to fight in the war, and it’s our brothers out there who needed the help,” Hex says.
“But we understand now that it’s different for Dohbar and us. Dohbar is its own system, and the GAR is under the command of the Republic. As queen of Dohbar, you’re able to make decisions with more finality for your people than you are as general of the 17th, and we know that if you could, you’d never allow us to go anywhere that would be a risk to our lives. But as Tie said earlier, we are bred for this. Our reason for existing is to fight in this war and defend the Republic, as much as we, and you, may hate the reality of it,” Sans finishes. “So, we are all sorry for the argument.”
“I’m sorry for acting as I did as well,” you say. “I should have remained calmer than I did and explained better. I love you all, so much, and you’re right. If I could, I’d do everything to ensure your complete safety. Unfortunately, I can’t, and so I have to settle with being the best general I can to protect you on the battlefield.”
“We love you too, y/n,” Sans says. “And sorry for calling you by your title earlier, I know you don’t like it when we do.”
“It’s alright,” you assure him, “now, we can spend all night apologizing to each other, or, we can all have a big cuddle pile on my bed.”
“Cuddle pile!” Tie and Aid say at the same time, already jumping on and getting situated. You roll your eyes and laugh softly, Hex and Steele both smiling at you before joining the two already there. “Everything alright, Sans?” you ask as he remains standing beside you, staring off into space.
“Yeah
just
I received a report from Bly after his mission
things were pretty bad. But I understand why you couldn’t let Dohbar get involved.”
“How bad was it?” you ask, but Sans shakes his head, offering you a small smile.
“Don’t worry about it, y/n. It’s nothing you should worry about.”
“But it is something I could have helped with,” you sigh, and Sans gently rests his hand on your shoulder and offers you another smile.
“I wouldn’t have wanted you to. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice your people for our war.”
“But-”
“No more arguing about this,” Sans says with a slight chuckle. “Now, there’s a cuddle pile waiting for us to join.” You take a few moments to look at him and study his expression before sighing and going to the bed. You crawl on and the boys immediately surround you, letting you lay in the middle. Hex takes the outside, Steele between the two of you, and then Tie, Sans, and Aid on the other side.
Throughout the night, when Cyar’ika woke up, Aid or Hex would get up to comfort her. When you tried to, they told you to lie back down and relax, that you deserved a night of uninterrupted sleep. You appreciated their intent, but you still woke up every time she would fuss. After a while, they both finally let you help them calm her down, and they watched curiously as you did so. The secret was that you used the force to calm her, something they could not do themselves. Of course, you didn’t tell them this, because they’d probably tell you that you “cheated” somehow.
When you wake the next morning, it’s much later than you had intended to wake up, and you immediately wake the others as well.
“Mmm, leave me alone,” Tie mumbles in his sleep, rolling over to ignore you. You roll your eyes and shake him gently, and he just swats his hand at you.
“Come on,” you say, turning to shake Steele awake, “we don’t have much time to prepare to head back to Coruscant.”
“Can’t we just go back later?” Aid asks, and you decide to disrupt their sleep by sending waves of discomfort through the force.
“Alright, alright,” Sans grumbles, crawling over Aid to get off the bed. “Someone’s in a hurry today.”
“I have a feeling,” you say, narrowing your eyes as you try to focus on it, “something’s going to happen.”
“What’s going to happen is I’m going to sleep in my own bed tonight,” Hex says, “Steele stinks too much.”
“Hey! I do not!” Steele counters, and you just fold your arms and give them all a look.
“Are you guys going to go get ready now?” you ask after they all stop talking and look at you.
“Yes, ma’am,” Tie says mockingly, and you gently pull on his braid as he walks by, earning you a tongue out from him. You giggle and then close the door behind them so you yourself can get ready for the return to Coruscant.
After you dress and wash up, you head over to Cyar’ika’s room and get her up and ready for the day. You spend some time with her and Ahni as the boys finish getting ready, and all too soon you’re saying goodbye again and heading back to the center of the Republic.
“Everything alright, y/n?” Hex asks as he finds you in the bunk area. “You’ve been back here almost the entire flight.”
“I’m trying to meditate to figure out what feels so off to me,” you respond, “although I can assure you it’s nothing to do with you guys-well, not exactly.”
“What do you mean by that?” he asks, sitting across from you and removing his helmet.
“You guys will be involved in this
situation, but nothing bad is going to happen to you. It’s almost like
I’m sensing the Bad Batch.”
“Missing your man?” he jokes, but you shake your head.
“It’s not that, I think they might end up needing help.”
“Need help? The Bad Batch? Now that’s less likely than Fox liking Palpatine. Actually, no, I think it’s more likely, but just slightly.”
“Either way, I want our scanners and transmission to be on wide range, just in case someone ends up needing help.”
“You got it, y/n,” Hex says before standing up and heading back out into the main area. You watch him for a second before closing your eyes and beginning to meditate again, trying to focus on where this feeling is coming from. Something about it keeps taking you back to the Bad Batch, and you’re becoming increasingly convinced that they’ll be in need of help soon.
After a while, you leave the room and head to the cockpit, sitting in the chair next to Tie and watching the stars fly past.
“Something on your mind, y/n?” he asks, and you nod.
“It’s just that feeling
”
“Well, is ya Jedi mind telling you to go anywhere specific? Maybe ya can point me in a direction and we can find somethin’.”
You think for a second, wondering if you should just continue on to Coruscant or if you should deviate from your course and look for whatever the cause of this feeling is. “Yeah, we can try that.”
“Alright, I’ll pull the ship outta hyperspace,” he replies. “Just keep in mind this is a royal transport. We don’t got any guns.”
“Actually,” you say, reaching out and pressing some buttons in a specific pattern, “Dohbarians never go anywhere without weapons, not even into space.”
“You’re pretty strong with firepower for a peaceful system,” Tie chuckles, and you just smirk in response.
“Yeah, well, you don’t keep peace without posing a threat to those who try to challenge it.”
“That’s fair, I guess,” he says, taking control of the ship and pulling it from hyperspace. “Alright, where to?”
You close your eyes, concentrating on the feeling. You take a few moments before holding out your hand and using it to help feel what direction to go. Tie watches until your hand comes to a stop, and then he begins to fly in that direction. After a few minutes, you move your arm, and again, Tie follows it.
“What’s going on?” Aid asks while walking in, leaning against the doorframe. “Why aren’t we in hyperspace? And what are you doing with your arm, y/n?”
“She’s guiding me towards that strange feelin’ she's been havin’,” Tie explains, turning the ship slightly as your arm moves.
“Does she have any more of an idea of what it may be?” Aid asks, sitting down in the seat behind Tie.
“Didn’t say, and I think she’s focusin’,” Tie replies.
Suddenly, you open your eyes and grip the sides of your seat. Something is very wrong about what you had been sensing. You watch as a planet comes into view, and you immediately know that’s the right place.
“Check for transmissions,” you say, and Hex, who you hadn’t noticed join the group, immediately sets to work. At first, all you get is static crackles, but then a few words are able to come through.
“-ech, how’s that -ission coming?”
“It appears to- eached a ship n- by, though I’m -re who it is.”
“This is Commander Hex of the 17th battalion, can you hear me?”
“-arely came thr-. -ate your battalion aga-”
“The 17th battalion. This is Commander Hex.”
“The transmission should be getting better since we’re about to enter the atmosphere,” Tie states, and he prepares the ship for entry.
“How many troopers do you have?” The transmission is nearly clear, save for a bit of static.
“Uh, five, plus General Jinn,” Hex responds.
“Oh. Well, I guess any amount of help is welcome.”
“Were you expecting more?”
“Not exactly. We weren’t expecting any help, but more is always preferred.”
“Alright, focus, Tech,” Hunter jumps in. “Can you track them, or can they track your comm to find our position?”
“Already on it,” Sans says. “Tie, fly two klicks west and then one klick south west.”
“Give me the coordinates, I can get there easier my own way,” Tie counters, and Tech starts rambling them off, repeated to Tie by Hex.
“What’s the situation like down there?” Hex asks, and you watch as his expression remains neutral as he listens. “It’s not too bad, definitely not ideal. Nothing they can’t escape with our help.”
“Good,” you reply, and without warning, Tie jerks the ship and maneuvers it to fly sideways.
“What the karking hells, Tie?” Steele shouts from further back in the ship, having been tossed into the wall.
“Sorry, gotta avoid all these trees,” Tie responds. “Welcome to Kashyyk, boys.”
“Lovely,” Sans says as Tie turns the ship back upright. “Now, where the hells are we going to land?”
“Right here,” Tie responds, and as soon as he speaks, a cannon blast lands right in front of the ship, covering the viewport with dirt and debris.
“Everyone, out!” Steele yells, and everyone runs to the door. You’re the last one out, and as soon as you jump, a blast hits the ship and blows you further away. You roll a few times as you land, and immediately cough up dirt and blood. Your vision is blurry and you’re dizzy for a second before standing and regaining your senses.
“Get down, y/n!” Aid yells, and you duck just in time as another cannon shot flies past where your head had been a second ago.
“They’re just through these trees over here,” Tie says, waving everyone over as he begins to run towards the Bad Batch’s spot. You follow as well, trying not to stumble as you do. Something in your side sends a wave of pain with each step and breath you take, but you ignore it for now to keep running.
“Welcome to the fight!” Wrecker says as you break through the trees to join them.
“Woah, you need to get that taken care of now,” Hunter says as he looks at you. You furrow your brows in confusion before Aid comes into view and pulls you to the side.
“Sit,” he says, and pushes you down, not giving you time to argue. You still don’t know what’s going on, but a scream of pain leaves you as he pulls something from your side. You look down through tear filled eyes and see a piece of bloody wood. “I will never understand how you can ignore things that are literally sticking out of you and focus on the battle,” he mumbles, almost angrily. “Lift up the shirt.” You do as he says, and he applies the bacta, making you hiss through your teeth.
“What’s going on here?” a voice says, and you look up to see Crosshair standing on a branch above you.
“Hello, Snarky,” you say, smiling up at him. He jumps down, and takes his helmet off as he kneels beside you. He offers you a quick kiss on the forehead before he looks at your wound. “Princess-”
“No, don’t even say anything about me sitting out of the fight,” you say, and Aid clears his throat.
“You won’t be doing anymore fighting unless I deem you well enough,” he says as he stands. “Now, I saw you land and hit your head. Were you dizzy or did your vision blur at all? Were your steps unbalanced?”
“No,” you say, and he merely raises a brow at you. “Fine, yes, but-”
“You’re good enough to finish this fight, but when we get back to Coruscant, you’re getting a full exam.”
“Wait, what?” Crosshair says, and you grab Aid’s hand to help you stand.
“It’s alright, Cross,” you say, setting a hand on his arm. “This hopefully won’t take long, and then we’ll be on our way out of here.”
“Fine,” he says, slipping his helmet back on, “but I’m going to keep an eye on you.”
“How about you keep an eye on our targets instead?” Hunter says as he runs over, shooting at the droids breaking into the trees where you all are.
“Sir yes sir,” Crosshair mocks before jumping up and climbing into the tree again. You watch him for a second before joining your men, jumping right into the middle of the battle.
“So, what exactly is the situation?” you ask, and Tech moves to stand beside you as he blasts the droids and you deflect the returning blaster fire.
“We were on a mission to deliver some defensive weaponry to the Wookiees, and as we were about to leave, the Separatist forces decided to attack us. We have not been able to get back to our ship.”
“How long have you been fighting them?”
“Not long, but since we were not prepared for an attack like this, we have not been able to make our leave.”
“Well, hopefully we can help with that,” Sans says, standing at your other side.
“Do you guys have any sort of plan?” Hex asks, and Hunter responds briefly.
“Get out alive.”
“Yeah, well, how you intend to do so would be nice to know,” Steele says.
“Just do your thing and we’ll do ours,” Hunter replies before giving a hand signal to the rest of the Batch. You decide to just focus on the fight in front of you, making sure your men are safe.
After a little while, you barely have made any sort of progress with the droids. You’d noticed Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker popping into view every so often, but never paid much attention to what they were doing. You’d just kept your eyes on the droids in front of you and took out as many as you could.
“Alright, is everything in position?” Crosshair asks the others, and they confirm it. You’re confused as to what he’s referring to, but before you can ask, he tells you to do something. “Princess Cyar’ika, I need you to move slightly to your left.”
“What? Why?”
“I’m going to shoot your lightsaber.”
“What?” you ask, more confusion seeping into your tone.
“Just trust me, okay?”
“Just don’t break it,” you reply, “is this good?”
“Tiny fraction to the right
a bit more forward
perfect. Now lift your saber directly above your head.” You do exactly as he says, and wait. It feels as if each second crawls by as you wait for him to shoot, but when he does, you can’t bear to risk blinking. His skill always mesmerizes you, especially when he does a trick like this. As soon as his shot hits your saber, it’s deflected off and strikes through a droid, only to hit a tiny metal disk you hadn’t noticed before. It bounces off, hits another droid, and strikes a metal disk that Wrecker holds up in the air. Another droid, then a disk Tech tosses up. Droid, a disk Hunter throws forward. Droid, disk on a tree. Droid, disk on another droid. It continues to bounce all around, and then the real surprise happens.
You hadn’t noticed the pile of explosives Wrecker had set near the entrance of the trees, where the droids are coming from. Thankfully, no one is standing near it as the blaster shot bounces off a final disk and strikes the pile. You duck down instinctively, and so do your men. When you look back up, trees are falling down onto the droids. With their way now blocked, you can find the Batch’s ship and head back to Coruscant.
“A warning woulda been nice,” Tie says while walking over. Everyone gathers near where you stand, and the Batch just exchange glances with each other before Hunter speaks.
“Sorry, we just didn’t know how to explain plan D-43 in time for it to work,” he says while shrugging.
“The explosion is what he was referring to,” Aid counters, a slightly annoyed look on his face.
“I agree,” you add, looking toward Hunter. “You should know that others don’t always like not knowing what’s going on, especially if something could be a danger to their lives.”
“But no one was hurt,” Tech states, and you shoot him a look.
“That doesn’t matter. What matters is that they could have been, and you know that I never would have forgiven you if something serious, or even fatal, happened to one of them.”
“She’s right, we shoulda given them a warning,” Wrecker agrees. “Especially me, I was the one who put the explosives down. It was my responsibility to ensure everyone knew, and I didn’t do that. I’m sorry, y/n. And Commander Sans, Captain Hex, Major Steele, Medic Aid, and Sergeant Tie. I promise that next time I will ensure your safety and that you’re aware of the danger.” Your men exchange their own glances with each other before turning to Wrecker and nodding, offering him small smiles.
“Thank you, Wrecker,” Hex says.
“Commando Wrecker, if we want to get formal,” he jokes back, letting out a chuckle while setting his helmet half on his head.
“Alright, we need to get going, we’re already late as it is,” Hunter states.
“So are we, because we decided to help you,” Steele says.
“And our transport was blown to bits,” Tie points out. “Sorry ‘bout that, y/n.”
“It’s fine, I can just use Kwol’s transport since he barely does any off-planet work,” you reply. “You guys got room for six more on your ship?”
“Plenty, as long as two of us share a bunk,” Crosshair says, smirking as he puts a toothpick in his mouth.
“Perfect, I can cuddle with Wrecker then,” you tease while stealing his toothpick and putting it in between your own teeth, earning a scoff from the sniper before he puts his arm around your waist and pulls you into him.
“Not on my watch, you won’t,” he says, playfully biting your ear. “Mine.”
“I’m pretty sure everyone knows she’s yours already,” Hunter says, rolling his eyes as he walks by.
“Someone jealous?”
“Of you? Never. I can find a partner easily.”
“Oh really? Then how about we make a bet?”
“What kind of bet?”
“I’ll explain on the ship,” Crosshair replies, and Hunter nods before leading everyone on.
“Mind if I take a gander at your controls, here?” Tie asks as he stands in the cockpit.
“I do not mind, but just don’t touch anything. We don’t need a repeat of what happened last time someone didn’t know what they were doing,” Tech replies.
“Ah, don’t worry. I would never touch anythin’ I didn’t understand when it comes to ships.”
“That is comforting to know. Perhaps if I need to step away for a second, you could take control for me.”
“I would be honored, sir,” Tie says, throwing up a playful salute. Tech eyes him for a second before nodding and turning back to the controls, beginning to take off.
“So, what’s this bet you’re on about?” Hunter asks as he sits on his bunk.
“If you can get a partner as easily as you seem to think you can,” Crosshair starts, taking a moment to work in a nice shine on a part of his rifle, “then how about we put a time limit on it?”
“I’m listening,” Hunter says, taking his bandana off and throwing it into a pile of dirty clothes and bandanas.
“I think that’s the first time I’ve ever seen him without one of those on,” Steele whispers to Hex.
“After a while, I began to wonder if he was born with it,” Sans adds.
“I wonder how long he kept it on for,” Hex replies.
“We’ll go to the Uscru Entertainment District, and I’ll give you two hours to find a partner and bring them back to the Vos Gesal Hotel. If you don’t make it on time, you owe me a box of toothpicks. If you do, I’ll buy you a new bandana. Hells, I’ll even add in another if you manage to get two partners to come back with you.”
“Deal,” Hunter says, and the boys each stand to meet each other in the center of the room and shake hands, sealing the bet.
“You’re pathetic,” you tell Crosshair when he sits down again. He’s sitting on the floor between your knees as you sit on his bunk. He looks up at you with a smirk on his face.
“Why?”
“Because, you make a bet and ask for toothpicks?”
“Princess,” he says, setting his rifle down again and standing up. You watch as he continues to smirk, and he leans over you. You feel your cheeks warm as he gets closer, his form looming over yours. “I already have everything I could possibly want right here.”
“Save it for when everyone is not around,” Steele says, and the others chuckle along with him, including Crosshair.
“Asshole,” you mutter, and a hint of playful warning flashes in his eyes.
“Careful what you say, because I can be real mean if I want to be,” he warns, the smirk coming back to his lips before he places a small kiss on your forehead and sits back down where he had been.
The rest of the trip back to Coruscant is uneventful. You end up falling asleep on Crosshair’s bunk while he finishes up cleaning and shining his rifle. Hex, Sans, and Hunter have a conversation while Steele chats with Wrecker. Aid joins Tie and Tech in the cockpit, but ends up falling asleep as the two pilots talk about pilot stuff.
The feeling of something small repeatedly hitting and bouncing off of you pulls you from your sleep. You roll over and instantly get poked by something in the cheek. “What the-” you begin, and look down to see a toothpick on the bunk. “Really? You couldn’t have woken me up like a normal person would?”
“No,” Crosshair chuckles, “because I’m not normal.”
“You’re certainly right about that,” you mumble before standing and stretching. “Alright, Jawa Squad, I’ll see you soon. I’m going to skip out on dinner with you guys tonight and head back to the Temple to take a shower.”
“Good, I could smell ya from the cockpit,” Tie says, and you stick your tongue out at him, making him chuckle.
“I need one as well, I think I’ll join you to conserve water,” Crosshair says, but you shake your head and stop him.
“You have to go to that hotel and wait for Hunter to return with his partners,” you say.
“Not yet, we all need to freshen up before any of us go anywhere,” Hunter says. “Crosshair has plenty of time to go with you.”
“Another time,” you say, earning a slightly pouty look from your snarky sniper. “Don’t act like that, there can only be one child-” you stop yourself from continuing, eyes going wide for a second before you compose yourself.
“What?” he asks, clearly confused.
“Nothing, never mind. I was just going to make a joke and then realized I couldn’t
at least not yet.”
“Oh
kay
” he says, slightly suspicious. Tech gives you a thumbs up as if to say “nice save” as he walks behind Crosshair. “Will you at least come and keep me company while I wait for Hunter tonight? I’ll just be sitting in the lobby, and it’ll be pretty boring without someone there with me.”
“Sure,” you say, “just let me know when you’re heading over.”
“We’ll pick you up at the Temple and then I’ll drop you two off at the hotel before heading out,” Hunter offers, and you thank him before saying goodbye to everyone else and heading back to the Temple.
You quickly get ready, slightly annoyed that you can’t enjoy a nice long shower like you wanted, and dress in some comfortable but nice clothes. You look in the mirror and think for a second before deciding to put on a cute dress. Almost as soon as you’re done getting ready, you get a ping from Crosshair letting you know that they’re about to reach the Temple.
When you reach the hangar, they’re both by a speeder waiting. Crosshair is leaning against it with a toothpick in his mouth, and Hunter is standing at the front. As if on cue, when you step out of the elevator, Crosshair’s eyes find you. They slowly roam down your body then back up, and a sly grin comes to his lips. He flicks his toothpick away and unfolds his arms, walking the last few steps to greet you.
“I see we both had the idea to try and tempt each other tonight,” he says, and you feign innocence.
“What ever do you mean?” you ask, and he huffs in amusement before slipping his hand onto your waist and leading you to the speeder. He takes your hand and helps you on, and Hunter just rolls his eyes at the gesture before getting into the front.
“No funny business back there,” he says before starting the speeder and taking off. Of course, now that he’s told you not to, you decide to tease Crosshair as innocently as you can. You plop your legs on top of his and sit back against the other side, putting a bit of distance between the two of you. Crosshair eyes you briefly while his hand finds its way to your leg. He slowly trails it up till he reaches your knee, and unexpectedly, he slips his hand around and begins tickling you.
“Crosshair!” you say, gasping as you try to pull your leg from him. He just chuckles, holding onto you so that you can’t pull away and escape.
“Maybe you shouldn’t put your feet in my lap if you don’t want to be tickled,” he teases, and you just glare at him while continuing to try and struggle out of his grasp.
“You better stop shaking this speeder around or I’ll let you fall out,” Hunter warns, and both you and Crosshair stop messing around and sit normally, though he keeps giving you certain looks that only you understand the meaning of.
“Alright, I’ve got a tracker set on the speeder, so when you arrive, the timer will start automatically,” Crosshair tells Hunter when you reach the hotel. “It can only stop and reveal the run time with a code that I have memorized, so you can’t tamper with it or try to cheat at all. And just for good measure, we’ll be sitting in the lobby waiting as well, keeping track of time after I’m notified by my wristcomm that you’ve arrived.”
“You really went all out for this,” you comment, and the two men look at you before exchanging a glance.
“Bets are sacred to us. Not just the Bad Batch, but all of us clones. We will do everything possible to ensure a fair game.”
“Okay then
” you say, remembering how serious the men of the 17th always were with bets. “Well, I’m going to head inside and sit, it’s a bit cold out here.”
“I’ll be there in a minute, doll,” Crosshair says as you walk away, and his voice lingers on the last word for a second. You almost pause in your steps when he says the word, but you merely stumble slightly before composing yourself again and walking inside.
Wow, you think to yourself, this is a nice place. No wonder why Crosshair told Hunter to bring the partner here. Wait-how does he know about this place? The question sends a wave of jealousy through you. Has he brought someone here before? If he has, was it while you two were together? Would he dare do something like that to you? You, General Jinn, Jedi Master, Queen Monako of Dohbar-
“May I assist you with checking into a room, ma’am?” a man says from behind the front desk. You pull yourself from your thoughts and look at him, and he jumps slightly when you do. “My apologies, miss, I do not mean to intrude.”
“What?” you ask, and then you realize you’re glaring at him. “Oh, I’m sorry,” you say, a wave of embarrassment washing over you. “I’m not mad at you, I was just in my head when you spoke.”
“Ah, I see,” he says, relaxing a bit. “Now, may I help you get checked in?”
“I don’t have a-”
“Room 9904,” Crosshair says, walking up behind you, “reserved for a Mr. Crosshair and Ms. Jinn.”
“And is this man with you?” the man asks, and you nod.
“Yes, but I wasn’t aware he’d gotten us a room.”
“Of course I did,” Crosshair chuckles, “you didn’t think we’d spend the night in the lobby, did you?”
“I
” you begin, but then you shut your mouth and shake your head, hiding the small smile that slips onto your lips.
“Here is your keycard,” the man says, “have a lovely stay.”
“Thank you,” you and Crosshair say at the same time. He holds out his arm for you and you loop yours into his, and he leads you to the elevators.
“Room 9904?” you say, and he nods with a slight smirk. “I shouldn’t be surprised.”
“No, you shouldn’t,” he replies. “Besides, I never would have invited you if I truly meant to sit in the lobby the entire night. I know you have many other things you’d much rather do than that.”
“Yeah,” you say, “I could name a few things
”
“Hmm,” Crosshair hums, and he guides you out of the elevator once it reaches the floor. Only a few doors down is your room, and he slips his arm from yours to open the door.
“This is really nice,” you say, a hint of sourness coming to your tone. “How did you know about this place?”
“I’ve been here before,” he says, and he notices your instant mood change. “Princess? Is everything alright?”
“Yeah,” you say, a bit too quickly and harshly. “Just perfect.”
“Cyar’ika, I know when you’re lying to me.”
“Why have you been here before?” you ask, turning to face him. “I thought I was the only one you’ve ever been with. Are you sneaking off with someone behind my back and bringing them here?”
“What?” he says, shock covering his expression. “What in the hells are you talking about? Where did you even come up with that?”
“Answer my questions,” you say through clenched teeth. “Or else I’m going to walk out of here and take a taxi back to the Temple.”
Crosshair just looks at you for a second as if you’re crazy before he sighs and sits on the edge of the bed. “I haven’t been here with anyone other than my brothers,” he starts, “and an off-world political figure. Some king or duke or something. We were on a mission to protect him, body-guard sort of thing. He stayed here, and so we did as well. That’s how I knew about this place.” His expression changes then, to one of hurt and offense. “Do you really think I’d cheat on you?”
You bite your tongue, looking down and feeling guilty. Of course you don’t, but ever since you found out you were having Cyar’ika, and even more since then, you’ve felt insecure and worried about stuff like this. “No,” you start, keeping your gaze down as you walk over to sit next to him. When you do, he gently takes your hand into his and rubs his thumb over the top. “I just
I guess I’m a bit insecure about it. Ever since I was away for so long
I’d be worried that, I don’t know, you’d get too
built up.”
“Princess Cyar’ika,” he says, using his free hand to gently turn you to face him, “I will never, ever, even think about another person for as long as I live. You are the only one I want to be with. You are the only one who can even tempt me in any sort of way. All I want is you.”
You stare into his eyes then, and you can see how serious he is. He truly does love you more than words can express, and you love him just the same. Instead of responding, you reach up to his face and pull him closer to you. You close your eyes as your lips meet, and you let the desperation of your kiss consume you.
⚠⚠⚠
In seconds, the kisses go from desperate and passionate to hungry and hot. You feel the mood shift come from Crosshair as he deepens the kisses. His hands find your sides and immediately slip down to push your dress up and off of you. Your hands find the buttons of his shirt, and you only try for a few seconds to unbutton them before just deciding to pull it open.
“Ruining my shirt?” Crosshair asks, slightly breathless by the quick pace of everything.
“As if you wouldn't have ripped this dress to shreds if you had to,” you retort, earning a hum from him as you scoot back on the bed and he crawls to hover above you. His body radiates heat as he leans down and kisses you again, his hand slipping down and hooking a finger inside your panties, tearing them off without a thought about it. You can feel his smirk against your lips after he does so, but you don’t have any time to even consider a snarky comment before his fingers are inside you. You gasp as he doesn’t give you any time to adjust, instead just pumping his fingers furiously in and out of you. Lewd, wet sounds fill the room and your hands squeeze his shoulders, needing something solid to ground you.
“Kark, Cross,” you moan, his fingers curling to hit that one special spot, “Maker, this feels so good.”
“I know,” he replies, his teeth finding a spot on your neck and nipping at it. “It’ll feel better once my cock is inside you.”
“Gods, don’t make me wait long,” you whine, already feeling your sweet release coming.
“What if I do?” he says, suddenly pulling his fingers from inside you, earning a desperate moan from you. He shushes you with his slick covered fingers, smirking before moving to put his head between your legs. His tongue first cleans off his fingers before he moves his hands to hold your legs apart. He licks his lips in anticipation before leaning in and licking a long, slow, stripe from your entrance to your clit. He lets out a deep moan as he does so, and his eyelids droop slightly as he tastes you. “Oh, doll, you can’t keep doing this to me,” he groans before dragging his tongue along you for another taste.
“Cross
” you moan as he swirls his tongue on your clit, slipping his fingers back inside you at the same time.
“Shh, quiet, my princess,” he says, “I know what you need.” You just let your head fall back against the pillows then, a hand going to tweak at your own nipples. Crosshair notices, and the sight sends a wave of arousal to his already painful erection. He pulls his mouth away from your cunt to nip at your legs, needing to bite something but not wanting to hurt you. Your spare hand goes down and pushes his face back to your cunt, and you lift your head to look down at him.
“Keep going,” you say, almost in a desperate begging tone. He just looks at you before chuckling and slipping his fingers from you and licking them clean while maintaining eye contact.
“You are in a demanding mood,” he says, crawling up to hover above you again. Your hands reach down and fidget with his pants, and he huffs before moving to slip them off. Your eyes go down and you hungrily take him in, legs spreading slightly in anticipation for him. “Oh, you think I’m going to fuck you now?” he says before chuckling. “Oh, no, doll, you have me all wrong.”
“Crosshair, please,” you moan, bucking your hips up so that your cunt rubs against his erection. His jaws clenches for a second as he feels your heat, but one of his hands goes to keep your body still on the bed.
“You better be patient and wait for me to fuck you how I want,” he says, leaning down to speak into your ear. “I told you earlier, I can be real mean when I want.”
Your eyes widen slightly as your face heats, and you try to force yourself to be assertive. “You wouldn’t dare use me for your own enjoyment.”
“Wouldn’t I?” he asks, moving his head back up so that he can gaze into your eyes again. His expression softens for a second, and his tone gets serious but comforting. “Do I have your permission to edge you and tease you for as long as I want?”
You take a second, reveling in the amazingness of this man. It shouldn’t surprise you that he’s so considerate, even when he’s raging to destroy you. “Yes,” you say, before adding, “just
if I tell you to, then stop.”
“Say toothpick, and I’ll know the limit,” he says, and you nod in understanding. His look changes again, back to the hungry, handsomely devilish grin that he had before. “I love you,” he whispers in your ear before nipping at the tip. In the next second, he’s entering you and immediately setting a devastating pace. You’re caught off guard, but surprisingly, you enjoy it. His haste to get his own pleasure makes you feel as though it’s you that he wants, not his release. And perhaps you are, because his mouth and free hand refuse to leave your body.
“Gods, Cross,” you say, bucking your hips up and matching his pace. “So
good
”
“Fuck
” he mutters, his hand moving to push your leg up and move it to rest on his back. He switches hands, moving your other leg to cross over the other. “S’warm
so wet
”
“Only for you,” you moan, and he groans deeply in response, snapping his hips harder into you. His teeth find your collarbone and take hold, tongue darting out to soothe any irritation he may have caused. You can feel his hips beginning to stutter, and drag your nails down his back. He tenses under your touch, and you feel his grip on you tighten in response.
“Y/n,” he says breathlessly, “you’re gonna
gods you’re gonna make me lose it already.”
“Then lose it,” you respond, reaching up and pulling his face back to yours. He kisses you sloppily, tongues dancing around each other as he fucks you hard. His teeth find your lower lip and he gently bites down. You can hear and feel his heavy breathing, and his mouth moves to bite your shoulder as his body tenses completely. You hear his deep, long groans as he cums, and you let your eyes roll back at the feeling inside you. Your own release had been close, but if anything he said earlier was an indicator of his plans, then he wasn’t going to let you cum any time soon.
“Maker, you’re wonderful,” he says, kissing from your shoulder to your neck. “Should fuck you all the time.”
“I’d gladly let you,” you say, and he chuckles before planting a kiss on your lips. You feel him slowly slip out of you, and then he lays down on the bed at your side. You start to turn to cuddle him, but he stops you.
“I’m not done with you yet, doll,” he says, a smirk coming to his lips. “I think I want to taste a bit more of you. Why don’t you go ahead and take a seat?”
“What?” you ask before realizing what he means. You and him had never done this before, and you’re instantly nervous about it. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, if you’re comfortable with it. I would very much enjoy trying this,” he responds, and you nod. You crawl over him and let him guide you to where he wants you. Slowly, he guides your body down until his tongue meets your cunt. You let out a soft moan as he begins to drag it from clit to entrance and back again. He also softly encourages you to rock your hips against his face, wanting you to fuck yourself on it. You swallow before letting your body take control, doing whatever you can to get the feelings you crave.
“Oh my
fuck,” you say, one hand going out to the wall to hold you up as you lean forward, the other going down to where his head is. He hums in satisfaction, and one hand lightly slaps your ass. Heat rushes to your cheeks at the action, and he watches you intently as he does it again, conjuring the same reaction from you. You feel his smirk again as he tries squeezing this time, and you instinctively buck your hips forward as he does. His tongue slips into your entrance when you do, and his eyes roll closed as his grip tightens. The sight sends a wave of arousal down to your core, and you feel yourself clench as well.
As you rock yourself against his face, you feel one of his hands slip away. You distantly question it in your mind, but you don’t need to ask to get your answer. You can feel him bucking his own hips, and you know he’s touching himself to this. You get an idea then, and stop your movements.
“Is everything alright?” Crosshair asks when you stop, and you just smirk at him and nod.
“Lay back down, don’t worry about me,” you say, and he gives you a questioning look before you gently push his head back against the pillow. You then move to switch the way you’re facing, and reposition yourself above him. At the same time, you position yourself in place to take his cock into your mouth.
You feel him gasp and groan as you lick a stripe up to his tip, and then slowly take it into your mouth. His ministrations slow on you, and so you speed up on him. His hips buck up to meet your lips, and you have to pull back to avoid choking on him.
“Sorry,” he manages to stutter out, but you silence him by hollowing out your cheeks and rocking back against his face. His tongue immediately darts out to start consuming your arousal again, and his hands grip tightly on your legs. You moan against him as he sticks his fingers back inside you, and you feel his pulse against your tongue.
After a while, you distantly realize that he’s not even moving his mouth against you anymore. He’s holding his tongue out for you, but his groans are from the feeling of his cock pulsing in your mouth. You swear it’s somehow getting harder, and it’s definitely swelling. You quicken your pace, using both your mouth and your hand to help him reach his climax, and after a few seconds, you feel it fill your mouth. His groans are in sync, and you feel the vibrations of them against your cunt. You rock back, trying to feel the most of it, and he grips your body and holds you close as he begins devouring you again.
“Gods,” he mumbles when he pulls away briefly to catch his breath, “need
more
”
“Take all you want,” you reply, continuing to rock against him.
“Not
enough
never
enough
”
“Then don’t stop
”
“Maker, I never want to,” he says, his tongue swirling around your clit and his lips sucking hard. You moan loudly, your legs beginning to tremble with your approaching release. Crosshair doesn’t relent, and his ministrations push you right to the edge
and then he stops.
“Crosshair!” you whine loudly, but he lifts you off his face and pants below you.
“Not finished with you yet,” he says, and you can hear the smirk in his tone.
“Kriffing hells,” you mutter, and he gently guides your body from above his face to kneeling beside him.
“Would you be a doll and get on your knees and elbows for me?” he asks, and you give him a quick kiss before doing as he wishes. “Perfect,” he mutters, hand rubbing over your ass that is sticking up in the air. “Gods, I could fuck you for days without stopping.”
“You sure you got that much in you?” you tease, and a light slap is your response.
“You’re the one who has a lot in you,” he says before thrusting himself into you. You suck in a breath of air before relaxing, and his movements are slow to start. You have the idea to slip your hand under your body and massage your clit, wanting to have your own release, but apparently Crosshair doesn’t like that idea. He grabs your arm and pulls it to your back, holding it there as he quickens his pace.
“Am I not enough for you?” he taunts, slamming his hips into you. “Am I not pleasing you enough?”
“No
” you moan, and a swift smack to your ass makes you let out a small yelp of surprise.
“So, I need to fuck you harder?”
“No, that’s not what I meant,” you whine, stupidly trying to slip your other hand underneath your body. He grabs that one as well, and holds it against your back with the other.
“Tsk tsk tsk,” he says, “I thought you agreed to play my game tonight?”
“I
did
fuck,” you moan, feeling his cock hit the right spot inside you.
“But you’re breaking the rules,” he replies, shifting to angle his hips better. The change makes everything more pleasurable, and you feel your eyes roll back as your mouth hangs open, a string of moans constantly rolling from you. “If you want something, you have to use your words.”
“Gods above,” you gasp, “fuck me, Crosshair.”
You feel another slap to your ass before Crosshair’s warmth covers your back. You feel him leaning over you, and his lips graze your ear before he speaks. “What do you think I’m doing?”
“I
oh, Crosshair
”
“Words, Princess.”
“Fuck
I want to cum
”
“Hmph,” he huffs, “all you had to do was ask.” You feel him pull himself up off of you, and then he pulls himself out of you. You open your mouth to protest, but before you can, he’s flipping you over and pulling your legs up to rest against his shoulders as he leans over you. You feel him push back in as one of his hands slips down to your clit. The sudden position change and new sensation shock your body in the best way possible. Waves of arousal wash over you, and before you even realize it, you’re clenching around him and having the hardest hitting orgasm you’ve ever experienced.
Your moans fill the room, and Crosshair watches in amazement as your face contorts into a look of utter euphoria and pleasure. He soon feels himself falling over the edge again, and his hips stutter and he holds himself deep inside you as he releases one last time for the night. He starts his thrusts up again, making sure the both of you ride out your full orgasms before he pulls out and lays down next to you. His arms wrap around you and pull you to his chest. Both of you are breathing heavily, covered in sweat and cum. You can feel the bed completely ruined, but you don’t have the energy to fix it, or to even care.
⚠⚠⚠
“I love you,” he says after a while, and you smile as you look up at him.
“I love you too, Crosshair.” A beeping sound comes from his datapad then, and he sighs while giving you a kiss before he stands and starts to dress. “Where are you going?”
“I had the tracker programmed to tell me when Hunter is on his way back,” he says, “I’m going down to the lobby to greet him.”
“Don’t take too long,” you say, stifling a yawn as he chuckles.
“Don’t worry, my Princess Cyar’ika,” he says, “I’ll be back before you know it.”
Crosshair only sits in the chair for a couple minutes before the front doors of the hotel open. He sees Hunter walking in with a Chiss woman and a Duros woman.
“I see you’ve taken a fancy to blue tonight,” Crosshair says, quirking an eyebrow at his brother.
“These fine young women were kind enough to accompany here,” Hunter replies, each of his arms around one of their waists. “Now if you’ll excuse us.” He nods to the front desk man as he heads toward the elevator, no doubt having already checked in and gotten his room ready. Crosshair doesn’t care, though. Hunter was .0743 of a second late. Crosshair won the bet.
As someone who has many family members that are veterans, and a sister that is going into the Army. that is definitely why I love clones more then any other Jedi or character in Star Wars. The troops will always have my deepest respect. A lot of the people yell about how military personnel are awful because of what they do, but most troops don't do a lot of those things because they want to, but because they are told to do it. Like Crosshair says "Good soldiers follow order." Deep respect for them and @superiorsniper for using their platform to talk about this. Thank you.
Some days I log on and write my silly little jokes and snarky comebacks as a fictional soldier, and it's all fun and light. Other days I watch Hacksaw Ridge or receive my brother's first selfie in his dress whites, and the realization crashes down on me again that all of these stories are based on real people and events, many of them as or more devastating than the stories they've inspired. I do not share this to shame anyone who simply enjoys fandom, but instead just to suggest that it would be a missed opportunity to develop empathy for fictional characters and never connect that empathy to anyone in real life. Just like in this pretend universe, we're still sending people to fight wars they didn't start, egotistical power-hungry men are still starting them, and the first casualties are always the innocent.
ok i consider myself a patient person but i swear if crosshair isn’t in the next episode we’re gonna have a problem
Of course I do I'm from the Deep South and was (dead seriously) raised on a farm in a small town. where I would ride a house to go get a Dairy Queen ice cream.
The Spy and Her Hunter | Part4
The Spy And Her Hunter | Part4
Description: After six months apart from a certain bad batcher, he comes to your rescue when your mission to steal data from the Empire goes wrong. Unfortunately, you’re not exactly happy to see each other.
Warnings: 18+, Future smut, Language, Angst!
Table of Contents: Part One, Part two, Part Three
Ord Mantell
 it’s been awhile. It’s still an impatient city. And you’re still an impatient woman.
Hunter had barely spoken a word to you since you’d landed.
“Wait here,” was all he’d said before jogging down the steps with Echo, Omega and Wrecker following close behind. You considered leaving as they disappeared out of sight. You could find much less
 complicated transport somewhere else.
“I assume you are still proficient with a hydrospanner?” Tech’s voice asks behind you and you grit your teeth, biting back a sigh. You twist around finding him walking towards you, though he seems more focused on the data pad in his hand.
Lifting an eyebrow, you watch him for a moment before turning back to the door. “Hunter left you to make sure I didn’t steal the ship, didn’t he?”
“The odds of success would be stacked against you as you would have to break through three layers of encryption to take over the flight controls,” Tech informs you then adds, “Hunter’s exact words were, ‘don’t let her run off.’” You shake your head and lean against the doorway. “They will return soon. In the meantime, I have several calibrations and minor repairs to make. You may join me if you wish.”
 A shadow moves out of the corner of your eye and you shift as Tech moves past you, out the door. Out of everyone, you hadn’t thought he would be the one offering you an out. It would be easy to follow after him in silence, crawl under the ship and let your hands set to work checking the hydraulics and electrical systems. You were still proficient when it came to handling a spanner. Neither of you would have to say anything beyond your individual projects.
But that thought gnawing at the back of your mind would never go away. It would still be there. Better to get it out now, to ask.
“Hunter
” you take a breath as Tech reaches the ground. He glances back at you, your mouth held open as your brain tries to process what it wants to say. How are you even supposed to ask this without sounding like a complete asshole? So you phrase it in a way where it’s not clear, where you’re giving the answer in the question. That way you might avoid hearing what you don’t want to hear. “He’s good, right? I-I mean he seems okay—”
“I am not sure what you’re asking, Y/N,” Tech says quickly. He twists around and cuts his eyes up at you, sunlight glinting off his goggles. He shakes his head and sighs. “He normally keeps things to himself. This was no different. But emotionally
 your leaving created a wound that refuses to heal. Even when we all understand why you left—you lied to him.” He turns to the side, his gaze leaving yours and you feel it like a punch to the gut. “And the second Rex told us you were in trouble, it was all Hunter could do to get to you. So, instead of trying to quell whatever guilt you are feeling, perhaps you should consider facing it before you hurt my brother again.”
Your mouth has long since gone dry. It’s a harsh breath before you swallow and clear your throat, ignoring the way your eyes are beginning to sting with tears.
“I never wanted to hurt him,” you breathe out finally. “Or any of you.”
Tech nods, biting his tongue before he glances back up at you. “I believe that. What you lost was unimaginable. Losing you though
 things have changed.” Looking down, Tech kicks the bottom step lightly with the toe of his boot. “I assume you know that already however.”
“I do,” you answer, crossing your arms over your chest as Tech faces you again. “But I can’t stay and try to fix it. Not yet at least.”
“You make it sound as though you intended to come back all along.”
You let out a soft laugh, a sad smile on your face as you look down at him. “Tech, do you think about what your life might look like in five years? Ten?”
“Clone life expectancy is short,” he tells you nonchalantly and you try to hide the wince that runs through you at that little reminder.
“Hmm,” you nod before clicking your tongue. You glance up at the top of the hanger, the last of the day’s light glinting off the metal rim. “Hunter is the only family I have left. This mission – it’s almost over. And when it’s done, when I’m done
 I will beg him to take me back, to forgive me, to trust me again. But not one blasted second before. I can’t stop. I won’t. Not even for him.”
The knife in your chest twists as Tech stares up at you. There’s pity in that look. An empathetic sadness. Adjusting his goggles with one hand, he slowly starts to turn away, gaze falling back to his data pad.
“I have repairs to get to,” he says, leaving you at the top of the steps, shadows descending as the Ord Mantell sun goes down for the night.
A/N:
Short chapter because I needed a transition to get to our next part.
You know it’s bad when Tech is the one chastising you for emotional mistakes. Also I realized today that I have always written OCs who get their hearts broken by the guy. I've never written an OC breaking the guy's heart and I'm kinda loving it? Poor Hunter. I know. I'm evil.
Oh gosh I don't think anything can mentally prepare me
Chapter Fifteen , Streigler Struggle
“Were you the one who barricaded the alley?” Rick asked once Matten Streigler showed up.
“Somebody did, I guess when the city got overrun.” Glenn replied.
“Whoever did it was thinking, not many freaks would get through,” Matten cut in.
“Back at the tank, why’d you stick your necks out for me?” Rick asked.
“Matt just thought we should because we could.” Glenn said, “Me? Call it foolish naïve hope? Just hoping one day, someone will do the same for me. Guess we’re even bigger dumbasses than you.”
After Glenn, Matten merely bypassed the ladder altogether and jumped straight down, “SHIT MAN! WATCH IT!” Glenn snapped.
“We’re back!” Glenn spoke into his walkie talkie, “Got another guest, plus four geeks in the alley!”
The trio stopped at the end of the stairwell as three walkers took notice of them. Suddenly, a door swung open and two men wearing riot gear brandishing baseball bats ran out and beat two of the walkers while a third who wore white full body armor with fresh teal accents shot at the third walker with a gun model Rick did not recognize.
As soon as the walkers were down, everyone ran across the alleyway into the building.
Rick barely had enough time to react when a blonde woman grabbed him and shove him into a crate.
“Son of a bitch!” Andrea growled as she took her gun out and aimed it at Rick, “I’m gonna kill you.” She hissed.
Rick merely put his hands up to show he didn’t want any trouble.
“Hey, Andrea, chill gal.” Matten tried. “Yeah, ease up.” Jacqui threw in.
“Ease up?” Andrea gaped, “you’re kidding me, we’re dead because of this stupid asshole.”
Then the man in full body armor approached Andrea as he removed his helmet, “Put. The gun. DOWN.”
“Or pull the trigger?” Matten shrugged.
Andrea soon relented, “we’re dead, all of us. Because of you.” She spoke.
“I don’t understand.” Rick said and Morales grabbed his arm.
“Look we came into the city to scavenge supplies.” He said, “you know what the key to scavenging is? Surviving. You know what the key to surviving is? Sneaking in and out. TIPTOEING.”
“Yeah, not shooting up the streets like some trigger-happy commando going berserk on a battalion of clankers.” Matten cut in, also pissed, “Every freak for miles around heard you poppin off shots.”
“You just rang the dinner bell” Andrea spoke
“Got the picture now?” Morales asked.
Before all of them was the shop windows, all full of walkers trying to get in. One even picked up a rock and was smashing it against the glass.
The group retreated further into the building as the glass began to break.
Well. Lord help us now. Rick thought.
☣<<<Interlude>>> ☣
“It’s late they should’ve been back by now.” Amy snapped.
“They should’ve been back two days ago.” Crosshair growled.
“Worrying won’t make it better.” Dale spoke and both Crosshair and Amy huffed.
Crosshair then went to sit next to Lovi, like a few seats away from her still.
“What are you doing?” Lovi snapped.
Crosshair didn’t even look at her, “You know what I’m doing.” He spoke.
“Yeah, so stop.” Lovi hissed as she glared at him.
“I won’t” Crosshair said as he shook his head. Lovi looked at him, anger visible on her face, “I won’t.” he repeated, looking Lovi in the eye this time. Lovi stood up and left, leaving Crosshair alone on the log.
The buzz of static caught Shane’s attention as well as everyone else’s. Dale climbed up to the top of the RV and reached for the receiver.
Whatever words were exchanged were no longer what concerned Crosshair, it was the strange knot in his stomach telling him something wasn’t right.
Shane and Amy arguing caught Crosshair’s attention. Apparently Shane was being an ass again and Amy was having none of it. He wanted to leave her sister there. Leaving brothers behind was wrong, Crosshair knew that personally so he felt compelled to help the poor girl.
“She’s trapped she’s gone.” Shane said to Amy, “so we just have to deal with that. There’s nothing we can do.”
Crosshair was on his feet in an instant, walking towards Shane and Amy, well aware of the eyes on the back of his head.
“She’s her sister, you son of a bitch.” Crosshair growled at Shane.
Shane and Amy looked at Crosshair, the former in anger at his defiance, the latter somewhat thankful to him for agreeing with her.
“’s there something ya wanna say ta me man?” Shane taunted the sniper.
“You start down that path of not even trying” Crosshair began, “you wouldn’t even bat an eye to someone begging for help? You’ll start leaving people for dead, in your group, and out of it.”
With that Crosshair walked past the former cop and ushered Amy towards the forest.
“Thanks,” Amy whispered to Crosshair.
“don’t mention it and look out, I think Lori’s gonna scoop you up soon.” Crosshair joked as he nudged Amy’s arm and sure enough
“Amy!” Lori’s voice came from behind them.
“Oh my god
” Amy ran her hands down her face.
“Good luck.” Crosshair called softly as he branched away.
“Congratulations, you’re officially an asshole too.” Amy quipped and Crosshair laughed, “too late, I already was” the sniper threw back
He could already hear the two women arguing as he walked away towards Lovi’s car. Maybe he could do something and bring everyone home
☣<<<Interlude>>> ☣
“Listen I know it sounds crazy, but I need you to do this.” Crosshair whispered to Amy in the back of the RV.
“You’re gonna get yourself killed.” Dale pressed while Amy put a hand to her head, “Cross, he’s right, this is too dangerous.” Amy spoke.
“It’ll only be my life on the line.” Crosshair assured.
“That’s hardly reassuring, son.” Dale looked at him.
“Cross, please, this is stupid.” Amy pleaded.
“You were the one who wanted to get your sister.” Crosshair snapped.
“yes. My sister. Why are you going?” Amy asked, “aside from Dale, everyone here was cruel to you. Even that lady you came here with. Why are you risking your life for them?”
“Because I know what it’s like to be left behind.” Crosshair said, looking at the map strewn on the table, “That’s not something anyone should go through
”
Silence fell across the trio until Amy leaned over and hugged Crosshair.
Immediately the clone’s eyes went wide. How does one handle this again?? Looking up at Dale with pleading eyes that must’ve looked hilarious on him because the elderly man chuckled pretty hard.
Crosshair huffed and tried hugging Amy back, although he was unsure of where to put his hands. He settled for resting them around her shoulders.
“Thank you.” Amy said as she pulled away, “Too bad you’re not in charge and Shane is. You seem to know what you’re doing better.”
Crosshair chuckled, “I’ll keep that in mind for the election.”
The trio chuckled again when suddenly, a distant siren reached their ears.
The sounds of shuffling on the RV roof told them that the current lookout had heard it too.
The trio rushed out of the RV, Dale and Crosshair both running for the ladder as the siren drew closer.
“Talk to me Dale!” Shane called out.
“Can’t tell yet.” The elderly man replied.
“Is it them? Are they back?!” Amy asked.
“I’ll be damned
” Dale grumbled, “What is it?” Crosshair asked, “Stolen car I’ll bet.” Dale replied just loud enough so everyone could hear.
A sleek red car pulled into the camp, it’s alarm screaming bloody murder. Crosshair trained his rifle on it just in case. When he saw Glenn in the driver’s seat he then trained his aim on the passenger seat. Wait
 holy damn. That’s a reg.
Said reg stepped out of the car. He had hair the length of Hunter’s with blonde frosted tips set in small braids tied back in a ponytail.
“Holy crap, turn that damn thing off!” Dale shouted
“I don’t know how!!” Glenn shouted back.
Almost immediately the car alarm was mingled with several people yelling as Glenn popped the hood of the car and told Amy her sister was fine and Shane turned off the car alarm.
Once the alarm was off everyone turned to the newcomer.
“Who the hell are you?” Shane asked
“Who the hell are you??” the reg parroted reaching behind his back.
“HEY, HEY! HANDS IN THE AIR!” Shane shouted.
“That’s Matten Streigler, we ran into him two days ago
” Glenn introduced, “Matt can you PLEASE calm down?”
The reg chuckled and shook his head, “Not when this asshole thinks he can boss me round.” The reg whipped out a dc-17 and aimed it right at Shane.
“DROP THE BLASTER, REG!” Crosshair snapped and everyone looked at him.
“Oh,” Matten said as he looked at Crosshair, “You one of those defective clones aren’t ya??”
“I’m defective enough to kill you, scug, drop the karking blaster!” Crosshair growled
“Excuse me, do you two know each other?” Lori asked as Matten kept his blaster trained on Shane.
“Not personally Ma’am” Matten leered
“Kriffin reg,” Crosshair growled as he switched his blaster to stun.
“What’s that defect?” Matten spat at Crosshair when suddenly, a firewood wielding Amy came up and brought a log down on the back of Matten’s head, dropping the reg like a sack of potatoes.
The camp stood dumbstruck, staring at Amy who shrugged before growling at an unconscious Matten Streigler, “His name is Crosshair, asshole.”
Crosshair shared a look with Dale before smirking and jumping down from the RV.
Amy immediately went to turn her crossfire back on Glenn, “Andrea’s okay? Why isn’t she with you?” Amy spoke.
“It’s okay,” Glenn announced “everyone’s okay, well
 Merle not so much.”
Crosshair snapped up at that.
Goddammit.
“You crazy driving this wailin’ bastard around” Shane scolded, “You trying to draw every walker for miles?!”
“I think we’re okay” Dale said
“You call bein’ stupid okay?” Shane snapped
“Well the alarm was echoing all over these hills, hard to pin point the source.” Dale corrected.
Shane stood up and glared at the man, “I’m not arguing, I’m just saying.” Dale said to the cop before looking to Glenn, “It wouldn’t hurt you to think things through more carefully next time would it?”
“Sorry,” Glenn apologized. “I got a cool car
”
Shane was in the process of tying up Matten when a large truck soon came up.
His enhanced eyesight enabled Crosshair to recognize Morales in the passenger seat while a man he didn’t recognize sat in the driver’s seat, but what stopped him mid-breath, was the man, the REG between the passenger’s and driver’s seats.
No way
He’s
Alive
Andrea was the first to exit the truck. She ran straight to her sister, who ran to her and pulled Amy into a hug. The reunion was hearty, bringing a smile to even Crosshair’s face. Jacqui showed up next followed by T-Dog. Then came Morales, whose children ran right into his arms.
Crosshair could hear Morales talking about how they’d escaped being trapped. Then someone who appeared to be some law enforcement officer stepped out of the truck.
Crosshair noticed how Shane and the new guy seemed to freeze when they saw each other.
“DAD!”
Crosshair turned to see Carl and Lori running towards the man and then he understood. This was Carl’s father and Lori’s husband. This- oh. Shane’s in for it now.
Then
 the white clone armor with teal accents. It looked like the armor was stolen from a purge trooper and was given a new paint job. The teal paint barely masked the faded and chipped magenta patterns.
The trooper’s helmet moved with his head, panning the camp.
Crosshair was sure Shane was watching the man, as well as analyzing Crosshair’s reaction to him where his reaction to Matten was hostile, his reaction to this trooper was docile.
The trooper’s scanning stopped when his sights landed on Crosshair. Crosshair tensed when the trooper advanced on him suddenly.
“Hey, hey, hey-” Shane tried to intervene when he realized the way the trooper was advancing was nowhere near a happy reunion but the trooper just shoved him away.
Crosshair braced himself for an attack as he began to step backwards, “Howzer wait, I can explain-” Crosshair didn’t get to finish.
Captain Howzer hauled off and socked Crosshair across the jaw, making the latter stumble and fall.
Crosshair swore he heard Lori or Amy scream at Howzer, but when he looked up, he saw Lovi.
“If you touch him one more fucking time I will kill you” she growled.
Howzer ripped his helmet off and to Crosshair’s horror, his right eye was burned blind. It’s almost looked like Wrecker’s scar. “Do you even realize who you’re defending?!” He shouted to the camp.
“Yes, we realize who we’re defending and you just hauled off and punched one of our own so you watch it.” Dale snapped as he stood next to Lovi who glared at Howzer like some post-apocalyptic warrior goddess in Crosshair’s eyes.
“Do you really?” Howzer challenged
“Do we realize that we’re defending a man who’d imprisoned many people? Yes we do.” Dale challenged back “That he tried to kill his own family? Yes we do. Do we have reason to believe him?-” “No we don’t” Shane cut in, “YES. WE. DO.” Dale ignored the cop’s butt in, “He’s one of us ‘Howzer’, you watch it or we’ll drop you like your friend.”
“Matten’s not my friend.” Howzer spat, “and neither is he.” He spoke, gesturing to Crosshair. Crosshair looked away as Howzer turned and left for the tree line.
“you alright?”
Crosshair looked up to see the new guy holding out a hand to him.
“uhm
 yeah
” Crosshair said as he took his hand.
Crosshair huffed. If only it were that easy.
