Spoilers for Justice League Unlimited
Do you ever memorize for a presentation and you get it perfectly but when the presentation actually happens your memory decides to throw its self out the window
Hiccup: *pretending to joke* So when are you going to go out with me?
Astrid: I don't know. When are you going to ask me to?
*later*
Fishlegs: And you just ran away?!
Hiccup: I didn't expect her to flirt back!
Tim? Jealous? Absolutely not, how could you even think that?
You know as soon as Dick finds about this he will convince the entire family to gift Bernard with their merchandise just to mess with Tim, is what a good brother would do š
I'm going to die soon, but I'll die without regrets. Or that's what I'd like to say.
Jazz, for some reason or the other, becomes a wielder of a red lantern ring. After going on her rampage and getting her revenge, she realizes that the feeling of rage won't go away. Instead of letting the anger destroy her, she decided to do something else with it.
That's how we end up with a stand-off between Hal Jordan and the most powerful Red Lantern he's ever seen. Because...
"What... what did you just say?"
The young woman smiled gently at him. He would've been fooled by it if not for the burning rage carefully hidden... No, she wasn't hiding anything behind those turquoise eyes. It was taking everything she had to hold it back.
"I said that I would like to join The Justice League." Her voice was soft and velvety. Comforting in a way that sends chills up his spine.
"But you're a Red Lantern."
There was a beat of silence, she cocked her head to the side while looking at the blood-red ring on her finger.
"I don't know what that means, but I'm guessing it's got something to do with this ring?"
Hal didn't respond but she took it as confirmation. There was silence between them once more before Jasmine sighed and continued.
"I feel angry, more than angry. This rage that I've been holding inside for so long has reached its limits and is finally bubbling over. Everything that I loved is gone so killed what took it away from me. But... but I'm still SO FUCKING ANGRY!"
She was screaming now. Tears of rage and sadness rolled down her cheeks as violent red energy radiated from her being. Hal flew back. He didn't want to fight her but was ready to do so if it came to it.
Just as easily as she lost it she pulled herself together, wiping her tears away, returning to her previously calm demeanor. It freaked Hal out.
"I... I know that blind rage without direction leads to meaningless destruction. I don't want to hurt anybody. No... I don't want to hurt the wrong people. I'm asking you to guide me, to guide my rage in the right direction... Please."
Annie Cresta really was that girl. She had the living legend and sex symbol of Panem Finnick Odair, whom everyone in the nation wanted so hopelessly in love with her that he could not function at all and had to be sedated numerous times when she was taken by the Capitol.
Angst idea for billy batfam: for whatever reason billy is given a punishment from Bruce: no magic until told otherwise. No spells. No heroing. No magic
The problem is that Bruce doesn't understand magic and doesn't understand that billy isn't like zatanna or constantine, he can't just not do magic. 6 gods, the living Lightning and the magic of eternity all bottle up inside a malnourished little kid? It'll burn him alive
but... he's learned better than say no to a pissed off adult
The gods make the executive decision: billy can't stay here. Not anymore.
Ooooh this is good. Thank you for the ask!
Oh, the āno heroingā punishment alone is bad. Because that infringes on his responsibilities within the Magic community. He has work to do damnit!
But no magic? That is basically a death sentence. No joke, asking someone who is so intrinsically tied to magic to NOT use it, is not going to end well.
And the worst thing is, Bruce thinks this is for the best. He still doesnāt get magic after so many years because he doesnāt want to. All magic brings is chaos and a headache. He toned his hate down for Billy, but itās still there. Heās worried that magic will ruin his new sonās life, so he decides to separate them, like you would your kid from a toxic friend.
But itās eating Billy up inside. Now, he has voices in his head yelling at him to use his powers. He has magic practically boiling within his very core, hitting along every inch of his inner muscles. He feels like heās burning up. Like heās eaten so much that he canāt eat anymore.
Still, he doesnāt say anything. He knows better. After so many foster and group homes that promise theyāll be better than the last, this one feels different somehow. He has hope. Itās not a lot, but itās there. If he says or does anything to ruin that, itāll only be his fault.
But his patrons think otherwise.
They acknowledge that these vigilantes have good intentions, for humans. But ultimately, Billyās wellbeing matters the most. And if he continues to not use his magic, he wonāt survive to the next year. Itās like asking him to not take medicine. To not sleep. To not eat or drink.
At some point, the Batmanās intentions donāt matter. Billy needs to go to the Rock immediately. Zeus apologizes profusely before piloting his body and teleporting all the way to the Subway to Eternity.
He canāt stay, they tell him. And, despite wanting a family more than anything, Billy knows theyāre right.
*cue Captain Marvel avoiding being in a room alone with Batman and any of his batgirls or robins.*
