I couldn't help myself, but I'm a sucker for kindness and meraki has to be one of the nicest fan artists I've ever met. I used to send messages to fan artists and a wee lil' lass and never got a reply or ever dreamed of getting one. she not only replied to me twice but drew amazing art with them and humoured my silly "lejion legion" idea.
I had to draw Meraki with her skaia pencil since her crow strider au is simply lovely!! and I also tried to draw the characters as best as I can in hero mode, since meraki has such a lovely way to recreate canon in her style (I'm so sorry if I'm going on and on about it..it just is. haha).
I guess I got inspired to do my own oc from it too, even if it is a touch silly. I always noticed that karkat had parallels to both calliope and john that never went anywhere so I decided to run with it and make him a sister to go further with the similarities. her name is keyket, I would elaborate more on her but I'm too embarrassed to at the moment. I guess one day when I get the courage I will.

▶ I made a minimalist Homestuck calendar for the year 2022 (this year!) sadly it seems I am 11 days too late but hopefully it won't go completely to waste. I could re-release it some other time for a different year if people still want it. you can track people's zodiac on it and everything. I thought it was a cute idea but I didn't think it would be so time-consuming. However, my general health had deteriorated this past couple of years, leading to the loss of my speed and productivity.

▶ I actually read and finished Homestuck. it was an interesting experience. It was much more enjoyable than I imagined it would be, very creative, wild, and surprisingly educational. I realized just how big of an impact this comic had on Internet's history as a whole.
■ I do admit that I have come to greatly dislike the author as a person, and it seems like they are going down a path that is unhealthy for them and the people surrounding them. On the other hand, I have great respect for all the people that contributed to this series and I'll support it in order to support the hard-working team working under the author and the dedicated fans.

It appears I have disappeared of the face of the internet again...which is probably a bad idea for a digital artist...
I’ll try to be more proactive from now on, I guess. I won’t make any promises as it is very difficult from to commit to a schedule or to be active for myself and not just work or college. I’ll give it a go anyways as it’s probably bad for me to be so defeatist about this. At least I’ll try and I made a baby step on the internet world and myself.

So, India is dying.
Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.

A second COVID wave has taken out the healthcare system. There are no more hospital beds. There's an oxygen shortage. There's a critical vaccine shortage. The Central Government has thrown its hands up and is passing the baton to the State Governments to do what they can.
There are over 16 million covid cases. A record 330,000 new cases reported yesterday - comparable to the US at its peak. 187,000 dead as of today.
There is no plan.
Mass cremations are taking place. The cremation grounds are running day and night and they are short on wood. People are watching their loved ones die while waiting for a hospital bed, and then they're unable to give them the proper burial rights.
Hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being confined, two to a bed. They're the lucky ones.
We are on the verge of people dying in the streets.
This is the second-most populous country in the world. The largest democracy. A country that encapsulates over 15,000 years of recorded human history and has endured everything from famine to invasion to colonisation.
We might be at the end. This might be the thing that does us in.
People are dying.

More good news? Variants are popping up. A double mutation strain has shown up. It is resistant to current vaccines. This will not go away. This is the devastation they warned of when the anti-maskers were out protesting the minor inconvenience of covering their face in public.
My country is on the verge of an emergency state. Our government has failed us. This is as dire a situation as it ever could be.
Look. I don't do much with my life. I write fics, some of you have read them and that's pretty much it. I spend my days with my head in the clouds because that's where I like to be.
But two days ago, my grandmother tested positive, had to be taken to hospital and the ambulance caught fire.
She barely made it to the urgent care she needs.
So, here I am, using whatever meager platform I have to cobble this request together. Because I have to do something.

i still haven't read homestuck, but I’ll admit that the fact Andrew hussie drew with just ms paint fascinated me... i used to draw many cringy things with paint when i was young but i never truly got how to draw with it. it inspired me to give it a go. someday I’ll get around to read homestuck... it’s not my usual cup of tea and I’m still a little scared of the fandom even though I’m pretty sure things have long since calmed down...

I just played liEat for the first time, and i must admit that this mini series is a very relaxing and charming series. i was very stressed recently and this series brought much needed calm into the soul, and this is coming from someone that doesn’t like high fantasy despite liking fiction. give it a try if you have the time.
i might try buying and playing the rest of miwashiba’s work when i can. i just need to find a job and catch up on yttd...

in all seriousness, he was a really good character and while I’m heartbroken that he didn’t ...you know. it’s still understandable he wouldn’t last emotionally because of his personality.
speaking of joe. was he the child shown in Kanna's flashback? if so, that leaves some VERY INTERESTING IMPLICATIONS. makes me wonder if all the participants in the death game are either all children belonging to the organization or that they all are some form of lab rats or clones. however, it could be the other way around and they are normal people that had the organizations infiltrate their lives instead. but hey, that’s just me
