Mad respect for season 1 Jay who swung upside down on a wrecking ball and saved his parents, for the deeply mistrusting season 4 jay who snapped at master of invisibility for trying to sit with them and who suggested they split up their team to not be ganged up on by the other masters (a strategist and deeply mistrusting person :D) For season 5 jay whos first order as leader was to steal the scroll of airjjtsu and for season 6 Jay who dared tease Nadakahn for his accent while being held hostage on his ship, knowing that his friends have just been captured by this all powerful being and finally for the petty bastard Jay in season 7 who insisted on throwing around Krux’ s pottery because he kidnapped his parents??? 🥂

hedgehog hero trio
Jay: "Is it okay if we hug him every time he feels like that? Like, we've all been on the self-loathing train here and some of us still haven't gotten off, so we get it."
Kai: "Yes... the feeling of guilt and contempt is not pretty by any means, I agree with Jay. Master, would you like us to hug you or at least be close to you when we feel you need it?"
You know, the interesting part of Jay's character is the amount of talents and hobbies that the guy shows to have throughout the show and that because he is so focused on his pessimism, he does not realize that he has them and only ends up sinking in his own insecurity and self-sabotage. Like, canonically Jay is good at carpentry (since he supposedly builds bird houses), inventing, cooking, writing poetry, dancing, skating, painting, and depending or not on whether or not he already knew how to do this before s12, he also knows how to play the electric guitar. And there's no need to mention fighting and the fact that he managed to make a tv show.
Jay's biggest problem is that his faith investement skills are shit. So he himself doesn't take all of these things into account and seeks to lie even when he easily has the largest skill catalog on the team and has the energy to be good at so different things.
