⍟ Planetary/luminary dignities are the idea that certain planets flourish more in specific signs and certain planets have a more challenging time in others. These are the 4 types of dignities…

Domicile (ruler): When a planet is in its rulership. When a planet is in this dignity it indicates energy being in the height of its wellbeing. For example, jupiter in domicile (sagittarius or pisces) can indicate someone having a lot of luck in life when they need it most since jupiter is the planet of luck.

Exalt: When a planet is exalted it indicates strength in the area of life involved. The function of a planet will be elevated when in its exalted sign.

Detriment: When a planet is in detriment it indicates that it will operate with the least strength and need the most work or that the planet will find unconventional ways to express itself in your life.

Fall: When a planet is in fall it indicates more struggle in the area of life involved, but can help someone gain a lot of wisdom through tough experiences. Even though it’s challenging though, it doesn’t mean it’s negative as challenges can be worked through bringing a more positive energy to the planet. It will just be harder.
