the massive, poorly constructed environmental risk that spat all over the Standing Rock Sioux people's treaty rights? that dug up their sacred burial sites? the one where the oil corporation who owned it bought out a private company to do a sham of an "environmental analysis" and never consulted the tribe and STILL didn't actually get approval? the one that's literally operating illegally and without proper permits right fucking now?
yeah, that.
you remember that.
surprising absolutely no one, the army corps of engineers this week (September 8, 2023) released an EIS (environmental impact statement) draft for public comment that takes into account absolutely 0 of the tribe's concerns, and in fact did not consult with them once in the process!
what's the good news?
All you have to do is add your name, email, and zip code, and it pulls up a form with a pre-written message you can just click and submit, listing the most pressing concerns. You can also personalize it if you want, but you don't have to. This will take you two minutes. Please.
you can also donate directly to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe here.

I really like this one. Another Alphonse Mucha one.
I’m thinking CLAMP probably looked at some of Mucha’s stuff when creating Clow Cards for Card Captor Sakura. But I could be wrong.

Woodkid - Iron (Iron EP 2011)
Deep in the ocean, dead and cast away Where innocence’s burn in flames A million mile from home, I’m walking ahead I’m frozen to the bones, I am…
A soldier on my own, I don’t know the way I’m riding up the heights of shame I’m waiting for the call, the hand on the chest I’m ready for the fight, and fate
The sound of iron shocks is stuck in my head, The thunder of the drums dictates The rhythm of the falls, the number of dead The rising of the horns, ahead
From the dawn of time to the end of days I will have to run, away I want to feel the pain and the bitter taste Of the blood on my lips, again
This deadly burst of snow is burning my hands, I’m frozen to the bones, I am A million mile from home, I’m walking away I can’t remind your eyes, your face

if you're feeling powerless right now—and god knows I am—here's a reminder you can donate to the National Network of Abortion Funds, the Trans Law Center, Gaza Soup Kitchen, the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, and hundreds of other charities that will work to mitigate the damage that has been and will continue to be inflicted
life continues. we still have the capacity to do good, important work. that matters

A.U.C. 334: about this date, For a sexual misdemeanour which she denied, The vestal virgin Postumia was tried; Livy records it among affairs of state.
They let her off: it seems she was perfectly pure; The charge arose because some thought her talk Too witty for a young girl, her eyes, her walk Too lively, her clothes too smart to be demure.
The Pontifex Maximus, summing up the case, Warned her in future to abstain from jokes, To wear less modish and more pious frocks. She left the court reprieved, but in disgrace.

it sounds like a joke but literally so many of you would've been supportive of the vietnam invasion by america and would've accused draft dodgers and draft card burners of being divisive
