The way most autism literature describes "literal interpretation" is often not at all similar to how I experience it. Teenage me even thought I couldn't be autistic because I've always been able to learn metaphors easily.
In fact, I love wordplay of all kinds. Teenage me was fascinated to learn all the types of figurative language there are in poetry and literature.
But paperwork and questionnaires are hard, because there's so much they don't state clearly. Or they don't leave room for enough nuance.
"List all the jobs you've had, with start and end dates." What if I don't remember the exact day or month? Is the year enough?
"Have you been suffering from blurred vision?" Well, if I take off my glasses the whole world is blurred, but I'm fairly sure that's not what the intake form at the optometrist is asking.
Or the infamous (and infuriatingly stereotypical) "Would you rather go to a library or a party?" What sort of party? Where? Who's there? I work at a library. Am I currently at the library for work or pleasure? Does it have a good collection?
It's not common figures of speech that confound me. It's ambiguity, in situations that aren't supposed to be ambiguous.
Poster for a Screenwriting course :)
(I'll update this with the Logline in a bit, just gotta sleep first -_- )
Been playing around with lighting :P
crappy last minute drawing of my dino-riding-bushranger sona thing

@kiki-whentheyart
This is 5 days too late, but I felt like re-drawing my half-thrown together Halloween costume because I really needed an excuse to draw something spoopy.
Can you tell I love old timey ghost stories?
Never in my life have I found a post that actually makes me feel okay with being aro and not loving people the conventional way.
(This is a Really Long One, so full comic is under the cut)
I've had this little idea in my head for a while now, so I decided to sit down and plot it out.
Disclaimer: This isn't meant to be some sort of One-Worksheet-Fits-All situation. This is meant to be a visual representation of some type of story planning you could be doing in order to develop a plot!
Lay down groundwork! (Backstory integral to the beginning of your story.) Build hinges. (Events that hinge on other events and fall down like dominoes) Suspend structures. (Withhold just enough information to make the reader curious, and keep them guessing.)
And hey, is this helps... maybe sit down and write a story! :)
Quick sketch of a dnd character I’ll probably never get to play 🫠
Trying out some digital painting techniques, so here's a Mermaid AU ver. of John and Kaider bc sometimes we just need to make something unabashedly cute for ourselves
