LawLu fic idea: Locker

Heavily inspired by the legends and myths of Davy Jones and how he's noted as the Devil of the Sea and the Reaper

Considering what happened to the Heart Pirates recently with Blackbeard and his crew, I thought of a fic idea where Law does the exact opposite to what other Devil Fruit users would do if they're thrown into the water

He stops rejecting the sea and lets himself drown, welcoming death not as an act of defiance but of acceptance to death itself

That awakens the Op-Op fruit into something else as its embraced by the sea. Something otherworldly, and that allows Law to accomplish what he sets out to do and that's to protect his crew from Blackbeard, no matter what. Even if that means welcoming death

Even if that means becoming Death himself

And now the very sea itself has become Law's domain, his ROOM -- the Locker of Oceanic Abyss which is his to rule, control and operate as he wishes

But with that, it also means his presence disappears which is picked up by a horrified Luffy via haki.

The Straw Hats may not have been there at Marineford but they're about to witness a breakdown that can very much rival that when Luffy suddenly falls to his knees screaming in shocked grief at losing someone who could've been his everything

A realization that came too little too late

The last panel features Law holding his finger up to his left cheek. He is looking at Luffy with a raised eyebrow.

The second page of the comic. The first panel is Luffy tilting his head with a confused expression, frowning. Question marks surround him.
In the next panel light surrounds him. He has an excited, determined expression. He bangs his fist into a flat hand. His text box reads "OH! I get it!"
The next panel is back to Law. Luffy has stretched his neck across the table to kiss him in the exact place Law pointed to on his cheek. Law's expression is confused, flustered and slightly outraged. A large blush forms on his face.
In the last panel the composition is the same as the first panel, where it shows them both at the table. Sanji has come back with Luffy's food. Luffy looks as excited as ever as he puts his hands in fists above his head. Stars are in his eyes and drool pools at the bottom of his mouth. Sanji's text box reads "Your seconds, captain". Luffy's text box is big, covering Sanji's a little bit, it reads "YIPPEE!". Across the table Law is looking down with his hand to his forehead. He looks distressed and is still blushing. question marks surround him. His thought bubble reads "The fuck..."

Give up trying to give him table manners Law, god knows Sanji's tried

lulaw / lawlu in the flavor of luffy having an obvious yet undefined crush on law while law just accepts it as something he's sure will fade and doesn't pay it any mind --- because why would he waste any energy taking a 19 y/o's crush seriously??

then 5 years later, law has to deal with luffy, king of the pirates, full blown adult feelings like: aaaAAHHH???!!!YOU WERE SERIOUS??!!!
