Akutugawa who grows to resent Dazai rather than hero worshipping him.
And thus becomes protective from afar over Atsushi.
Because he knows better than anyone how Dazai treats his subordinates.
And as much as it pains him to admit it, Akutugawa doesn't want to see Atsushi's light crumble.
He doesn't see Dazai treating Atsushi better than he treated him as a sign he's changed.
He sees it as a trap.
Atsushi is an open book, he's never been one to hide his trauma or past.
Which means anyone who offers him a hand can use that to exploit him.
And Akutugawa doesn't buy that Dazai truly cares for Atsushi, not one bit.
Akutugawa: You may have everyone else here buying your... transformation. But you and I both know you've struggled to do the right thing in the past.
Dazai: I won't deny that but here I am standing on the side of light. Doesn't that tell you something?
Akutugawa: Only that your loyalty is as breakable as your will to live.
Dazai: Oooh ouch below the belt.
Akutugawa: My apologises, if I had known you were in such a good mood, I'd have gone lower.
Dazai: I taught you well.
Akutugawa: Debatable. I can deal with you, but if you dare to hurt the Jinko...
Dazai: serious I would never hurt Atsushi. On that you have my word.
Akutugawa: Unfortunately your word is meaningless. You may have him fooled but you can't fool me. I know what kind of man you are, and those people never change.
Dazai: You'd be surprised... Since when do you care about my subordinate?
Akutugawa: I don't. But no one, not even my most hated nemises deserves to suffer under your... Tutelage.
Dazai: I admit, I was wrong for that. But I wouldn't hurt Atsushi.
Akutugawa: Good, because if you slip up, if I see the Osamu Dazai I know. If I see one mark on him that I've seen in the mirror...
Clenches his fist at the thought Than I will end your life, painfully with my "useless ability." And we both know much you'd hate that.
Dazai: Not my preferred way to go out, but fair enough. But I swear I won't hurt him.
Akutugawa: For your sake , you better not.
Dazai: I know it doesn't mean anything but, I am sorry.
Akutugawa: Your right, it doesn't.

I'm wishing a very Happy Pride Month to all the queer people who:
are disabled
are chronically ill
can't celebrate for health reasons
disability gets in the way of their gender representation
disability got in the way of a relationship
don't have anyone to celebrate with
have homophobic caretakers
Happy Pride Month to all disabled queer people
I saw a post that said “if inside out was filmed in my head” and it was a pic of the rtc cast but I can’t find it anymore so pretend like I’m reblogging it:
Ah yes, the 6 core emotions: Annoying, gay, kinky, insecure, cryptid, and Ukranian
Inwoo: [notices Jongwoo's bracelet]
Inwoo: You two are preposterous.
Moonjo: Usually these words mean nothing, but coming from you is almost laughable.
Inwoo: Shut up. I'm not gonna explain myself again.
Jongwoo: What are you two talking about?
Moonjo: His shameful secret.
Inwoo: It's not-
Moonjo: Inwoo is preparing a gift for someone. Jagi, you remember that writer you met before?
Jongwoo: Who?
Jongwoo: Wait... Yook Dongsik?!
Jongwoo: You kidding? Him? Them? How!?
Inwoo, interrupting them: It's not a gift! Moonjo is stupid and understood it all wrong.
Moonjo: Really? [in his most patronizing tone] Would you mind showing it to us then? So there are no more misunderstandings.
Inwoo: [angrily leads the way to his study]
Inwoo: [pulls a curtain previously covering a wall]
Inwoo: I don't expect you lowlife morons to understand, but this here is my project. A deadly trap, divided in seventy-five stages, each one harder to crack than the one before. It's designed to be torturous. So diabolical that anyone trapped in it would wish me dead and wish to die a thousand times a day.
Inwoo: [shows the wall completely covered from top to bottom with scribbled papers, post-its, images, red strings, textures, drawings, long calculations, mini lists titled "what Dongsik would do here", and more]
Jongwoo: Wow.
Inwoo: Right, it's really impres-
Jongwoo: It's just like the escape rooms Dongsik loves, but in larger scale.
Inwoo: What? No-
Jongwoo: What a nice gift, Inwoo-ssi. I'm sure he's gonna enjoy it.
Inwoo: For the last time, it's NOT a gift. And it's not supposed to be enjoyable. He will hate me even more after this. He may even die before it ends. It's not for his enjoyment, it's for mine!
Moonjo, pointing at something on the wall: Why is there a fire extinguisher in the scenario of stage twenty-eight?
Inwoo: For safety.
Moonjo: Safety?
Inwoo: Yes. And don't look at me like that. It would be stupid to let him die by accident in a fire, with so many more interesting stages after this one.
Jongwoo, squinting his eyes: There is also an antidote available in the poisonous stage...?
Inwoo: In case he chooses wrong and eats the wrong sweet, yes- But there is a charade to get that, it's not for free. What is so difficult to understand here?
Inwoo: [angrily puts curtain back in place]
Inwoo: You two lack VISION. Get out.
In SFH fandom, we have often asked question about this topic; why is Seo Moon Jo a Dentist ? Why teeth ?
This is just my guess, but I think it was intentionally done to pay tribute to the story High Window and to the author Raymond Chandler. Please bear with me …..
From what I’ve seen, Director Lee Chang Hee and Screenwriter Jung Yi Do, both are very intentional in everything they do in storytelling. In the original webtoon, there is no mention of Dentistry and Moon Jo isn’t really there. Yeongsam or 203 is more …. A mix of Yoo Ki Hyuk and Seo Moon Jo( more Ki Hyuk if you ask me) . Seo Moon Jo is a character that was introduced by Screenwriter and was developed by the director for the series. Hence the webtoon and series have lots of similarities, and yet lots of differences. So I wouldn’t be too surprised if they made Seo Moon Jo a Dentist, to pay tribute or to convey a message.
The High Window is a murder mystery that revolves around a missing antique gold coin called The Brasser Dabloon and Dentist and Dentistry techniques to make things play a BIG role in the story. I am so tempted to put some excerpts but that will give away major spoilers about High Window. The fact that not only Moon Jo’s a Dentist but he also makes jewelry through dentistry techniques…. I think that was included as an ode to Chandler’s High Window and also as a vessel to deliver macabre horror in SFH.
Maybe Director and/or screenwriter are big fan of Chandler and they paid tribute to the author by mentioning it at the rooftop scene and through Moon Jo’s profession and passion.
High window is an absolute amazing story and Raymond Chandler is every bit of masterful crime thriller author. I can see why it’s Jung Woo’s favorite
This is a friendship bracelet, right?
...right?
