How can you say bertholdt wasnt important to reiner? bertholdt was the only person who never hurt reiner and cared for him uncoditionally seriously?!

Well, if that’s the case then why isn’t Isayama bothering to put some light into it or develop it on screen insead of developing it in background overshadowed by Reiner’s relationship with Eren and Annie or even Marcel? We can see in the flashbacks that Reiner always admired Marcel because he was their group’s leader, he was strong. Because of Marcel, Reiner started feeling guilt and remorse, because of Annie he regained himself and promised her that he will become the leader and get them all home, so we got to know it was Annie who he first promised to return home alive and not Bertholdt like everyone thought. He tried to understand her. He also related a lot to Eren during their trainee times and always watched over him, he treated him like his younger brother. As for Bertholdt? He didn’t really treat him as nicely as Eren, he really couldn’t have cared less, he said it himself that he was unreliable and despite knowing Eren killed Bertholdt he understood him and apologized to Eren for everything that happened to him. He played no role in Reiner’s character arc. And we also learn that Bertholdt had no role inside the walls and didn’t do anything the entire years spent there, it was just Annie and Reiner.  We also learn that it was Reiner who wanted to continue the mission so in the end Bertholdt really was nothing more but a vessel of the Colossal Titan and a person to asure Reiner would stay alive. Falco and Gabi play bigger part in Reiner’s life now and if there’s someone who will cause Reiner to strengthen up it will be one of them.

“Nah, don’t be,” Reiner replies, leaning his head back. Bertholdt wordlessly reaches over and helps work at the stubborn knot that’s no doubt built up in his shoulder. “It was a real shitshow.”  Eventually, Reiner goes quiet and sullen again, staring out at the rain-soaked turf and empty seats. He’d shrugged off Bertholdt’s hand in favor of resting his weight on his best friend’s side, his cheek squishing childishly on a broad shoulder.

AOT cooked so fucking hard when it came to platonic m/f. Isayama consistently gave some of the most fire character dynamics to m/f friendship and I love that. Take Reiner and Ymir for example:

Reiner and Bertholdt about to start the battle of their lives but still swearing to save Historia, not even just for military reasons, but for the sake of Ymir???

Reiner literally about to die but using his last breath just to make sure Ymir's love letter is delivered to Historia. Name a better wingman.

Ymir coming back in the finale to serve cunt one final time and save Reiner. I love this friendship so much.

Okay Ik I’ve said this before but I think the influx of Bertholdt/Reibert hate from that one guy who made like 20 accounts had the opposite effect. I’ve been seeing soooo much more Bertholdt and Reibert stuff on my dash as of recent and I’m so happy about it, ty number1Bertholdt_hater!!

Eren - He use to enjoy playing baseball with his older brother, but these days he prefers soccer. But he might still pitch a few rounds every now and then. ⚾️

Mikasa - Is highly skilled in gymnastics, and can throw a punch is boxing. One day she might even become a professional on tv if she wants. 🤸‍♀️

Armin - Not the fittest in the bunch so he rolls around it with speed reading. His friends tell him that it’s not a real sport but he sticks to it anyway. 📖

Jean - He is the captain of the high school soccer team so that means he’s the best out of his friends. He practices at home and over at the park too. ⚽️

Marco - There’s a few that he’s good at but if he were to choose his favourite, it’d be tennis. He even won an award for best player in middle school. 🎾

Connie - Despite looking scrawny, he’s got some strong legs for athletics; mainly running. He doesn’t mind a good run every so often either. 🏃‍♂️

Sasha - Of course it’s archery. She has the best aim, good instincts and all the years of hunting with her family pay off. Now all she needs is a good target. 🏹

Historia - During the winter, she loves to figure skate. She learned to do neat tricks real fast. She brought Ymir along one time and she sucked at it. ⛸

Ymir - There’s not many sports she genuinely likes, so stretching exercises is the closest one. Historia encourages her to do so and that’s all that matters. 🙆‍♀️

Annie - She’s also good at gymnastics but her strengths lie in martial arts. She can compete within a judo contest and wipe the floor with anyone. 🥋

Reiner - Boxing is a major strength with him too. Other times he claims arm wrestling to be a sport, maybe just as an excuse to bond with his friends. 💪

Bertholdt - Use to compete in volleyball, until he kept getting smacked in the face on accident. Now he just settles in baseball and loves it. 🏐
