Having a bit of a weird day, so here are some self-indulgent Solavellan headcanons:

Lavellan looks for fancy and exotic paints from all over Thedas during her travels, and brings them to Solas as a gift. He acts nonchalantly grateful, but he secretly paints her portrait with every new one she brings. and then she finds the mountain of portraits in the rotunda after he’s gone and falls into a depressive episode I mean what

Whenever they are on a mission near a forest, Solas and Lavellan run off during their resting time. They find a quiet peaceful corner with soft grass, under the shade of the trees. They fall asleep in each other’s arms, and explore the Fade together. Solas knows each destination by heart, but he holds her hand and lets her excitedly lead them anyway.

Tea-lover Lavellan cannot possibly accept that Solas hates EVERY tea. She insistently brings him new teas to try together, and eventually it becomes a thing. At some point, he actually started enjoying it. He does not tell her though, so that they continue trying new teas together.

Solas loves it when Lavellan listens to him talk, yes. But he equally loves watching her talk in return. About her clan, her childhood, her interests, her fears, her day, anything really. He gets to memorize how her eyes shine with excitement, how her brows furrow with annoyance. Each new subconscious quirk of hers he discovers feels like a gift.

We already know this thanks to flycam, but he cannot not hold her hand. Ever. During any moment that does not require certain professionalism, her hand is in his. Their companions tease them for it, but he cannot find it in him to care.

When she goes on long missions without him, Lavellan sends Solas letters describing her adventures in detail. She always makes sure to include words of affection, at first hesitant, but eventually heavy with longing. They are some of the very few things he keeps with him after he leaves.

thinking about how mythal is visualized with and connected to the moon, but elgar’nan describes himself as the lord of day and night and can literally control the sun and moon to cause an eclipse. her role in the evanuris as a peacekeeper, immortalizing her as mother and wife forever. how flemeth described herself as nothing “but a shadow, lingering in the sun.” how when the mythal fragment trapped in the fade describes solas’s regrets, it’s recollections “cultivated like a tree twisting to catch the sun.” elgar’nan being the main person described whenever talking about mythal’s first death. how she reveals herself primarily to women who are hurt and abused by men over and over throughout history, reliving betrayal after betrayal for centuries…

Maria lifted one arm, trembling, weak, as if the very air weighed her down. Her skin looked like it would bruise at a glance, like if he touched her, he might hurt her without meaning to. Her hand reached toward him, fingers outstretched. Something twisted inside Shadow. Not quite pain. Not quite rage. Resentment of knowing her sickness was why he existed. That he was crafted to save her.

And until now, no one had ever looked at him like he was anything more than that. No one had offered him warmth.

His voice, when it came, was hoarse. Unused.

“I was made… for you.”

If Solas is back in the regret prison at end game and Rook isn’t, does that mean he can still access Rook’s dreams? Does he ever stop using the blood magic? He’d be spending ETERNITY there so I’ve got to believe he would cave and enter their dreams on multiple occasions just to interact with someone? Otherwise it’s just him and the Blight stuck in there, right? Is Rook months later suddenly finding themself standing across that ravine from him getting stared down by a lonely old god?
