I want you to know how glad I am that you are running this blog, especially after what has happened. This is my message of support. I hope you get many more and I hope that you are safe.
Thank you, but I’m not safe. Myself and almost everyone I know have been hiding in their houses, even calling in sick to work, afraid to go anywhere because people are getting harassed and attacked all over. The KKK is literally marching in the streets proclaiming their “victory”. The scant resources or protections that have been keeping me and my closest people alive for the last few years have been “promised” to be removed, and without medical care or a safety net, we will die. Regulations that are supposed to keep our drinking water clean and our working environments safe are being removed, even more than they already have. Discrimination that keeps people from having homes, educations, and jobs is going to be legalized.
I realize there’s a lot of “we made it through [___], we’ll make it through this!” going around, but I’m not “we”. I’m a multiply disabled, chronically ill qpoc with a mountain of student debt, who is living in poverty with a physically disabled partner who only has access to medical care through the ACA and is waiting on an SSDI hearing. There’s already no heat in my house or car, and we live hand-to-mouth when it comes to food. And that’s not even the only direct threat, it’s just the most immediate one.
And I see a lot of people invoking history, but how long ago is history? Because after “reforms” to disability supports to the British system in 2011, literally thousands died within a week of having been deemed “fit for work”. TENS of thousands died under Reagan, and if it’s not clear, I was alive through his entire term and remember it well. This is likely to be worse than that.
I’ve had friends and family over, and we all have found there’s not much to say or do but stare at the walls in despair, and derive small comfort from each others’ presence. We’ll do the best we can, but we all kind of know we’re not the ones who “make it through this.” I’m usually a fairly positive person but I’ve…kinda got nothing here.
Its finally here, this is a gift from me to you. I hope you enjoy and i hope it helps in your Journey. :)

Great prayer.
❝ ‘Henry VII’s devout and rather awesome mother’, was the description the historian Neville Williams offered of Margaret Beaufort in his 1973 biography of the King. Both adjectives in this statement are true, but neither do full justice to the woman who forms the subject of this book. William’s assessment does, however, accurately summarize the way in which Margaret has often been portrayed: a religious fanatic who was obsessively ambitious on her son’s behalf and dominated his court, an image compounded by the effigy upon her tomb as well as the surviving portraits, which show her wearing widow’s weeds and a barbed wimple, on her knees in prayer. This is an image often conjured up when the name Margaret Beaufort is mentioned. Yet it is two-dimensional as the paintings themselves, frequently used as a convenient short-hand when relating the tales of the period. Margaret’s own story and her true character as a living, breathing woman are a far cry from such flat representations.Nicola Tallis, Uncrowned Queen: The Fateful Life of Margaret Beaufort, Tudor Matriarch.
