Hello loves
I thought maybe this is a moment in time where we would like some wish fulfillment. So here is the first of about three hours of me reading my bring back Black fic, because it's a story full filling my own wishes to have canon-ish wolfstar go differently. I have it all recorded and am just editing the other two parts, I should have them up soon.
The world feels really hard right now for a lot of people. I'm going to miss the community and weird moments of joy TikTok brought into my life. I hope us Americans leaving that platform means we'll look for connections on other platforms. I hope so. We really need each other.
Anyway - here's some healing wolfstar angst fluff smut because this is how i've coped for 20 years. You get it.
I thought of texting you “good morning, I can’t sleep” and then I remembered that you are on a journey which I am not a part of and that’s okay but good morning I can’t sleep
sometimes i think about gay people who lived centuries ago who thought they were all alone who imagined a world where they could live openly as themselves who met in secret spoke in code defied everything and everyone just to exist and i’m like..i gotta sit down. whew i gotta sit down
One more joke hate: You may claim to be a woman but biologically you are a featherless biped and thus a man.
Finally a good argument for why I'm actually a man
When someone you love offers a bid for connection, you say yes every time. When someone sends you an article, a video, a funny post, it’s a bid for connection. They are trying to connect with you. When someone shares details about their day, their life, their thoughts, or their feelings with you, that is a bid for connection. They want to connect with you on a deeper level. They are trying to pull you into their world. If you love them, you say yes every time. Yes, even if the article they send is not particularly interesting to you. Yes, even if it means listening to them ramble about a game you don’t care about and think is stupid. Yes yes yes. And let’s hope they always say yes to your bids, too.

Hi i just wanted to tell u how much i love reading ur work !! I started with let’s play pretend and immediately apon finishing i stalked u for more and u were about halfway thru language lessons. I waited like a month to read and after finishing i still was not satiated of ur writing and went and read extra credit. N e ways i think ive read like 5 of ur fics now and i genuinely adore your writing so much. I read i put a spell on you the other night and it had me giggling in bed until i finished. Kindly requesting another little halloween themed B side for spooky season. Just wanted to let u know how much i appreciate ur writing and all ur characterizations of the marauders they literally never fail
Thank you so much that’s really sweet!
So my friend texted me on October 1 and said, “happy Alex season” while another friend sent me their annual text of “it’s decorative gourd season, motherfuckers,” so we could each enjoy our reread of the greatest essay in the history of mankind.
Why? Because spooky season is when I COME THE FUCK ALIVE. It’s all Halloween all the time up in my mind but in October I can really let it out.
That said, this witch’s high holiday is a big deal in my life and I don’t have a single free night between now and Samhain. It’s all parties and shows and fuckery. So the odds of me pulling off a spooky season b-side are probably low. But I won’t rule it out!
Here are a couple other things to scratch that itch:
I published a (year late) second chapter for My Moony which includes a lot of Halloween stuff, including Remus in fishnets.
A podfic now exists for I Put a Spell on You thanks to @burningaurora with incredible cover art by @meteoralinart
Things that Go Boo by @theresthesnitch is a haunted house oneshot.
The Proctor House by @eyra is set in 19th century New England
Hallowed by @hihimissamericanbi is a Salem witch trials WIP
Anyone else, please feel free to drop your fave spooky season fics in the comments!!

I don’t usually do discourse on this blog but that last reblog hit the nail on the head. Reader interaction is at an all time low for fic authors and whilst I’m eternally grateful for any and all kudos and comments that I do receive, I feel as if in the past couple of years there’s been this weird migration of comments - they’ve left ao3 and they’re on tiktok instead. So, rather than people leaving comments on my fics, they leave their comments on the videos of people reccing my fics. I see tiktoks about my fics and they’ll have double, triple the number of comments that the fic itself has. It’s so lovely that people are talking about my writing, but it’s just a very strange phenomenon and a very odd feeling when you have a fic that you assume wasn’t overly well received because it has hardly any comments on ao3, but then you see a tiktok full of comments with people saying that it’s their favourite fic.
And I’m going to say something potentially controversial here but not ONCE have I seen a tiktok creator, whose content relies solely on other people’s fics, say anything along the lines of “leave the author a comment if you enjoy the rec.” Literally never ever seen this. And I think that’s a real shame.
hey ao3 can you like give the extra $38k you made from this month’s funds drive to charity
