Yay diversity - keep it up Pixar!
âFor the first time, Pixar has two original films that will be released this year. The Good Dinosaur will follow Inside Out in November, and with it, a brand new short.
âSanjayâs Super Teamâ will be the first Pixar film starring a character of color. Director Sanjay Patel drew on his childhood experiences to create the 7 minute short, which chronicles a Hindu prayer ritual with his father.
Itâs also the first time religion is the subject in a Pixar film. The short concerns Sanjay daydreaming about the Hindu gods as ancient superheroes, not unlike Marvelâs The AvengersâŚ
Patel is the third Asian American director at Pixar, joining Ronnie del Carmen, co director of Inside Out, and Pete Sohn, director of The Good Dinosaur. He was candid in describing the difficulties of embracing his Indian heritage as a boy and even into adulthoodâŚâ

I donât usually do discourse on this blog but that last reblog hit the nail on the head. Reader interaction is at an all time low for fic authors and whilst Iâm eternally grateful for any and all kudos and comments that I do receive, I feel as if in the past couple of years thereâs been this weird migration of comments - theyâve left ao3 and theyâre on tiktok instead. So, rather than people leaving comments on my fics, they leave their comments on the videos of people reccing my fics. I see tiktoks about my fics and theyâll have double, triple the number of comments that the fic itself has. Itâs so lovely that people are talking about my writing, but itâs just a very strange phenomenon and a very odd feeling when you have a fic that you assume wasnât overly well received because it has hardly any comments on ao3, but then you see a tiktok full of comments with people saying that itâs their favourite fic.
And Iâm going to say something potentially controversial here but not ONCE have I seen a tiktok creator, whose content relies solely on other peopleâs fics, say anything along the lines of âleave the author a comment if you enjoy the rec.â Literally never ever seen this. And I think thatâs a real shame.
passages that make you whisper "oh my god"

For those interested in Remusâs POV of Rourke, Iâve posted a few thousand words.

this is godric's hollow by @moonyship 1/?, 5.4k Harry has only ever wanted to kill dragons. In Godric's Hollow, its basically a right of passage. A way to prove yourself. And as soon to be Chief, he desperately needs to prove himself before the dragons destroy everything he loves. The only issue is that he can't bring himself to do it.
we go where no one goes by @thundersarts 1?, 3.2k They treat Regulus as a ghost story. Something to share around a fireplace to scare kids, to make them not hate dragons because they're good as long as you are good. Regulus isn't a person to them. He's a curse. A sacrifice. Not to Sirius, though. Never to Sirius. After years of Regulus Black being missing, James goes out alone on a mission far from Berk. What he doesn't account for is to encounter the very same ghost that has been haunting his best friend's life.
postmarked by @kelpforestfire 1/?, 2.2k If the movie Klaus (2019) was made with the marauders, featuring a spoiled rich kid Sirius, disillusioned broke former idealist teacher Remus, snarky Peter, and love torn James. A Santa Klaus origin story.
legitimately my first feminist awakening as a ten year old child was realizing that girls were expected to respect âboy stuffâ but boys were never expected to respect âgirl stuffâ
you know a fic is good when it has this
hi! I don't think these skittles habits mean nd or not normal, but they might qualify as picky eating
generally speaking when it comes to mental and physical health, if you're asked "do you struggle with this" and your answer is "no, Because I Have A System," then your answer is actually yes
