CW FOR SAD THEMES THAT INVOLVE SOCIETYS VIEW OF NEURODIVERGENTCY, UNREQUITED LOVE AND BEING USED BY SOMEONE YOU THOUHT LOVED YOU "A Human's Touch" by TWRP has to be one of the best made songs in a HOT MINUTE SORRY, this song holds so much MEANING AND SO MANY IDEAS AND IMPLICATIONS THAT ITS JUST BRILLIANT???? So now I'm making a small analysis (I hope it's small if not so sorry gang)
"Am I a Toy to you, my Love?: "Just a Thing to play and then throw away~"
Clearly shows a Humans fear, a fear of being used, to be seen as nothing but a Plaything, or a obsession over someone who sees them as not human.
"I never asked for this. I always did my best."
The Person trying so hard to be loved completely to not be seen as less to know that they are loved and ARE TRYING.
"Without your love, I am a broken mess"
They don't feel like themselve, they NEED the other, they need them to feel normal, need their approval need their love need their thoughts so it doesn't feel like that they are doing something wrong and are broke when without them. This is a huge factor for this love being ANY sort of Love. Not just romantic but also platonic or parental love. The need of a child seeking their parents love, or even a neurodivergent look into the world, needing to fit in with others, being seen as different, as "robots" , "toys" or a "broke mess"
"Oh now I'm never enough and it's almost to much." The feeling over overwhelmingness, the hopelessness and despair the person feels without a guidance. "for me to work, I need a Humans touch."
A symbol or implication for needing someone else to survive, to feel complete and to FEEL, to not feel empty.
-----------
(MAIN LYRICS) 2× "I'm just a Toy for you. My love~" "Just a Thing to play and then throw away" "I need a humans touch, but you don't need me. I need a humans touch, but I'm obsolete." The Person realises that they are nothing more but a broken piece and aren't getting the love they need. They realise just how much they are used and how much they aren't needed by their Form of Love.
They realise how much of a mess and emptiness their heart holds and how much they truly depends on others than themselves
-----------
"We were going strong, I never did you wrong." Indication of how they think about the past, to see any faults of their own that made their obsession leave, blaiming themselves for not being better.
"Until the new me came along" See this is a bit hard to understand, clearly at first glance its a way to show how we replace items with new and better items, perhaps this is a way to represent how the person got replaced by someone who in their view was better than them?
"We were such a good team" Pretty self explanatory, it's a Indication of the past and how much of a match or team the two (or more) were
"Now I'm alone on the boulevard of broken screens" Getting thrown into the trash. Not being enough and now being left with others who were also used or not enough, or viewing yourself to be less now that the love isn't there or never was there. Being fully broken and a mess, also this line can interpret the feeling Neurodivergent People feel when society views us as nothing near humanity, just something that has a human from like a Barbie Doll or Children's Toy
(Que to main lyrics starting again!)
