So we've given Kai and Pixal a chaotic YouTube channel, Jay a gaming YouTube channel, how about we give Zane a cooking channel? He does mostly cooking tutorials, each one ending with one of the others taste-testing (Zane has a seemingly random rotation system so that everyone has the same amount of appearances, but it's a surprise who gets to taste-test). Skylor, being the only other super competent chef (Kai can cook basic meals, but everyone else ranges from 'kinda edible' to 'burns water'), is a common 'guest star'. Some of Zane's most popular videos are of him debunking viral cooking hacks and demonstrating how to properly make what the 'hack' was supposed to do.

Zane: “Remember to always have a functioning fire extinguisher in the kitchen.” Kai: “Zane, you are the fire extinguisher.”

“Lloyd try this!” “Is it sweet?” “No, it’s a savo-” “Then no.” .... “Jay try this!”

People requested Zane do a video or two about cooking on a budget and he brought Kai on. People were very confused until the actually watched the video and remembered that Kai ran a household since he was a child. Those some of his recipes and tips are regional. Rice was practically free for him since he was surrounded by rice farms.

Kai and Zane make a video yelling at people about the importance of stock and broth.

Lloyd will show up in any videos related to sweets. Even when he isn’t invited. Zane has his viewers play “spot Lloyd stealing the sweets” First person to spot all of Lloyd’s crimes gets their comment pinned. The number one rule to the game is “It’s never just once.” 

Cole’s videos usually turn onto a “How do I fix this mistake/ save the meal?” tutorial.

Zane also does a few prank videos.

He also will use their elements for cooking skits.

Zane, holding an empty pot: “Nya can you get me some water?” Nya blasts him from off camera soaking him and filling the pot. Zane, spitting out water: “Thanks.”

“Kai can I just some fire?” Jump cut to a burnt kitchen.

And a few humorous blogs

“So Lloyd isn’t allowed to have gingerbreadmen anymore.” pans over to Lloyd staging a whole torture dungeon scene while he eats the cookies and gives them voices to scream in pain with.

“Jay has found out how to have a bowl of popcorn to himself.” Jay has a bowl of unpopped corn kernels, picks one up, uses his element to pop it and then eats it.

Part two is Kai and Lloyd figuring out that they can do this too. Cole and Nya are upset.

Zane has an entire rant about mayonnaise. “It is an ingredient, not a topping! It’s not gross, it’s misused! You don’t eat raw flour and then say you don’t want it in your cake do you? No!? NO! Mayonnaise is a miracle and should be appreciated. Stop eating it raw and saying it tastes bad! You don’t eat straight grease, but you still love it in your bacon don’t you?”

Zane got very upset when someone tried to have his thanksgiving video taken down for the word “spatchcock”

Zane has only swore once in his videos. It was a response to an body dysmorphic girl asking him for help with her diet. Zane said “Fuck your diet.” and then went into a long rant about how unhealthy the diet industry is. Your body is focused on keeping you alive and it will always try to take whatever shape is the most efficient to do that for you, aesthetic or not. Diets should only ever EVER be focused on a medical issue or health and strength, never on size.

Zane helps children in the city build a snow fortress

Here's an idea: Jay having a gaming YouTube channel that he uploads to when the team isn't busy trying to save the world. The rest of the team make frequent appearances in his videos, sometimes bc he's playing someone's favorite game, sometimes by popular demand. Some of his most popular videos include:

Cute couples livestreams a la GTLive with whatever Jay ship you like the most

Family game nights where it's just the team being chaotic and playing multiplayer games like MarioKart, Mario Party, Super Mario Bros, non-Mario multiplayer games (my family only played Mario games and one High School Musical 2 karaoke game, so I don't know what other video games could work)

A fairly large playlist filmed between S2 and S3 where Jay somehow convinced Sensei Wu, Sensei Garm, and Misako to play FNAF together (I kinda like the idea of Misako loving horror things, Garm thinking it's kinda fun but not something he'd go out of his way to do, and Wu hiding behind the both of them after the first jumpscare)

Hundreds of reaction gifs being made from clips of the rest of the team being chaotic in the background

Highlights include:

-Wu screaming at the game, Garm goes full big brother and punches the screen. Misako just laughs and that’s the end of the first video (They got a new monitor after that)

-A fire in the background while Jay is still gaming memes. (”My responsibilities” written over the fire)

-Then second part/second meme being Zane putting it out while Jay still hasn’t looked. (”My unfinished school work” written over the fire, ”Snow day” written over Zane)

-Kai accidently walked passed shirtless and the chat lost it’s mind.

-Jay: “I’m dead.” Cole: “No I’m dead. You’re the one that hasn’t died yet. remember?”

-Everybody demanded Jay make Lloyd play the scariest horror game, expecting Lloyd to be scared and adorable, but Lloyd got too into it and Jay had to remind everyone that he was a Darkley’s kid.

-Clips from that episode trend, like a clip of Lloyd laughing manically at a blood filled room captioned “ummmmm.... 👀” 

-Nya is the queen of rage quitting. “Remember that time she threw the console through the wall?” “Which time?”

-The time Lloyd came in covered in bruised and marks, practically carrying Kai who was covered in blood and looking like he’d just dug his way out of his own grave. There was about two frames where Jay hadn’t turned around to look yet and it if you took a picture it looks like he’s ignoring his dying siblings and everyone thought it was hilarious. Discourse started because people saw the picture and didn’t know the context and assumed Jay was actually ignoring Lloyd and Kai and got upset. It was a whole thing and spans a copypasta 

“This is disgust! I can’t belive someone who claims to protect us would do something like that. And everyone defending him is just as guilty! you can’t just ignore people bleeding out and dying for a stupid video game. If it woere me I would of droped everythng to help. And I have medical training so i would of actually been useful, unlike this little blue bitch who just sat there and made them wait. they almost died because of him. this is not hero!1!!”

-”this is not hero!1!!” becomes a joke caption to add to any unflattering picture of the ninja, as well as a phrase used to mock reporters that try to slander them.

“This is disgust! I can’t belive...” becomes very recognizable as well. Some times just saying “This is disgust” in the right context is enough.

-Cole stole Jay’s pudding while filming a video, Jay said “This is not hero!” at him and everyone lost it.

~meanwhile~

Cole told him to give Kai space, to give the small boy time because it’s going to be a long time before he could trust either of them. But at the same time, Zane knows in his heart that Kai and Nya needed him. He shouldn’t push him, he won’t push him.

So why was he at Kai’s door?

Because you shouldn’t leave a ten year old crying alone in his room. Right? No you shouldn’t leave them alone like that, unless they want space. Zane should give him space.

The door opened, Kai had retreated back to his bed but had left the door open for Zane to either come in or leave him alone.

“Hey, um I brought you a snack.” He held out a plate of sliced peaches even though the boy couldn’t see.

Kai didn’t move, the room felt like it dropped a few degrees. “Um, i’ll leave them here for you.” He placed the plate on the bedside table where a lamp stood proudly.

“Do you wanna talk about it?” Zane asked as he sat on the corner of the bed. He should have left, he didn’t want to make the boy uncomfortable.

“No.” Kai almosted snapped, how a ten year old could hold so much venom was a mystery to Zane.

“Oh, well I’m here if you need anything.” He hesitated to leave, not wanting to leave the conversation(no matter how one sided) un resolved.

Kai stayed still, even as Zane shifted and got up. “I’m sorry I yelled at you.” he said quietly.

Zane stilled, unsure if he heard correctly.

When he didn’t say anything he heard near silent sobs and gasps the Kai tried to repress.

He whipped around and got down on his knees in front of the boy.

Kai continued to try and suppress his wails scooting away from the man. No no no no no no no no no no- he can’t- he just can’t. Why didn’t he keep his mouth shut, now he and Nya will be sent back to Mrs.Borg, unless Mr.Julien and Mr.Cole tell her, they will. They’ll tell her everything and she’ll send them to Mr.Carter.

Zane felt at a loss, he didn’t know what to do, he’s never really dealt with panic attacks like this. Ok calm down, Kai was scared and needed him. What did he do with Echo if he got scared? Well he’d fetch his parents and they’d calm him down, but the times they weren’t there he’d-

A loud sob ripped its way out of the boy, memories of the last home he’d been in wormed their way in.

“Kai, Kai, honey, is it okay if i touch you?” Zane’s voice cut through his panicked sobs, causing the boy to freeze. “You could shake your head, anything.”

Kai shook his head roughly, he didn’t want that.

“Alright then listen to me, please just listen.” Zane’s words were urgent but his tone was soft. Kai lifted his head to look at him no matter how blurry he was.

“I need you to breathe with me ok, just in and out.” Zane showed him, it somewhat calmed down the boy but he was shaking and tears still streamed down his face.

“...I’m sorry.” Kai whispered, he grabbed his pillow and buried his face into it.

“Why are you sorry?” Zane asks, he was on the bed, giving Kai space.

The boy was silent for a minute, “Why are you sorry Kai?”

“....because i made you cry.” He clutched the pillow tighter, “Kids aren’t supposed to make adults cry.”

Zane blinked, “Kai i’m ok. You didn’t make me cry.”

The boy shook his head, “I made you feel bad, just admit it.”

“Kai sweetie, you didn’t make me feel bad. I was worried that's all.” He placed a hand on the boy's head, who tensed but melted into the touch.

“Are you gonna tell Mrs.Borg?” He mumbled after a minute.

“No honey, I won't tell Pixel ok.” Kai had slowly moved to Zane’s arms, practically engulfed in them.

“...I’m sorry about what happened earlier.” Kai mumbled, head bowed.

“It’s ok, we’re still making boundaries and things will happen.” Zane rubbed the boy’s back, who finally relaxed a bit.

“So you're not mad?” Kai asks, tensing once more.

“I could never be mad at you, just remember something for me please?” Zane shifted so he could look Kai in the eye. “Just know that, no matter what you do or say me and Cole want you. Never forget that.”

It took all of the boys courage not to cry again. It won’t be the last time he heard words similar to this, granted it was the first time but the fact still remained. Someone cares for him, for him and Nya. Why though?

Zane handed him his stuffed dog, “Do you wanna come down with me and help with dinner?” He asks.

Kai took the dog, he still hasn’t given him a name yet. “...no thank you.”

“Ok, well I’ll get you when dinner is ready, ok?” Zane gave Kai one last hug before getting up to leave.

When he left Kai reached for the peaches, remembering what his mom once said about them. ‘A perfect peach should be enjoyed with others, share the spoils when you can.’

Well, Nya liked peaches and Kai’s pretty sure he scared her earlier with the yelling. Making up his mind he grabbed the plate and walked to Nya’s room where she was drawing a large robot.

“Nya? Can I come in?” He knocked his foot against the door frame, knowing if he came in without letting her know she would get scared.

Nya looked up and nodded before going back to her drawing.

Kai walked in before sitting next to her and placing the plate inbetween the two. “Watcha drawing?” He asks, as she starts filling in the messy outline with red.

“It’s a mec, I saw one like this at the store.” Nya smiles before reaching for a peach slice.

“Cool, can I draw to?” Kai asks as he gets a slice as well.

“Yeah, you can draw whatever ya want.” She moved a little closer to her brother.

“I’m sorry about the yelling earlier, I didn’t mean to scare you.” Kai admitted.

Nya shrugged “I know you didn’t mean it, just don’t do it again please.”

“I promise!”

“You're forgiven.” Nya snuggles against her brother. He knew he was forgiven.

Things will be better, and that’s what’s important.
