Pairing: Go Hyuntak x fem!reader
Summary: Having known of Hyuntak from his training days of Tae Kwon Do, you never thought you'd run into him again. What started as admiration from afar quickly turned into the beginning of something more.
Word count: 2.1k
A/N: Part 1 ☆ Part 2
Hyuntak first glanced down at your hand over his and you quickly backtracked, so he turned to face you properly, waiting for you to say something. Droplets of water fell from the front of his hair, and for a moment, you lost your train of thought, his handsome face captivating you for a second.
"Why don't you stay?" You swallowed hard, avoiding eye contact, nervously playing with your hands. "Just until the rain clears."
He didn't need to be told twice. You felt him pet your head again, and he smiled at you. "Okay."
You smiled back, relieved that he wouldn't have to go out into the rain again or leave so soon if you were being honest.
"I'll get us some towels. Come on in."
You kicked off your shoes and made your way to the bathroom cabinet where you kept the clean towels. You grabbed two and debated on whether or not to have him take a warm shower or just offer him some of your father's clothes while you put his in the dryer. When you came back, Hyuntak was looking at some family photos above the fireplace.
"Those are pretty old," you stated. "It's just me and my dad now. He's away on business and won't be back for a few days."
Offering him the towel, he took it, and to your surprise, covered your head with it. "Hey." You couldn't help but giggle as he playfully dried your hair, making it more of a mess than it already was. He settled the towel around the nape of your neck, looking down at you, a smile plastered on his face.
"You should take a warm bath." He said after a moment, taking the dry towel from your hands and working it through his hair.
"Don't you want to go first? I can bring you some fresh clothes."
"I'm fine. I've been through worse." Hearing how that sounded, he quickly added, "I'll take the new set of clothes, though."
You went to go find some extra sweats and t-shirts your father had, hoping they would fit. Hyuntak was taller and leaner than him. It's been a while since you were in your father's room, but you quickly found a pair of black sweatpants and a simple gray t-shirt. When you got back, Hyuntak held a new packet of underwear and socks he must have bought from the convenience store.
"Thanks." He said when you handed him the clothes. "I'll be quick."
You watched him as he went into the bathroom, closing the door behind him. Not letting your mind wander, you decided to keep yourself busy and clean the wet floor you both made. Afterward, you took out the other items he had bought from the bag. Medicine, more hand warmer pouches, and some sweets. You felt butterflies at his consideration.
It wasn't long when he emerged from the bathroom. The sweatpants fit him a bit too small, a few inches above his ankles showing, and the shirt was fit enough to show off his toned physique. Your eyes wandered to his hair, which was partially air dried, the front still looking a bit damp. Finally, you looked at his face, and you could have sworn he smirked at you.
"Your turn." He stated, breaking you of your trance.
Right. You nodded, setting the items down and going to gather your things for your shower.
◇
Hyuntak sat on your couch, hearing the shower begin to run. He felt much better knowing the hot water would be a nice contrast to the coldness you both had to endure. He got up and went into the kitchen to make something warm for the both of you. A quick look into your cabinets told him you weren't a fan of coffee. He found a can of hot chocolate and proceeded to look for two mugs.
As he waited for water to boil on the stove, he leaned his head back and sighed. What am I doing? He thought.
First, he offered to walk you home, and now he's at your house. If he wanted to keep you safe, it was best that he stayed away from you. He saw what happened with Baku and Baekjin. He went after the people he cared about most and almost got them all killed. Geom Seongje was still out there somewhere, so was he really willing to risk it with you?
She's safe with me.
That's what he told himself at least. That and the fact that he didn't want to be away from you. He wanted to be near you, to hear about your day and figure out what kind of person you were. Your likes and dislikes. Everything. Seeing you blush because of him was more than he could hope for.
Turning off the stove, he was careful not to spill the hot water as he poured it into the mugs. The aroma of the chocolate filled the air, and the steam of the drink felt good against his face. He set aside the drinks to cool and crossed his arms, leaning back against the counter. Closing his eyes, Hyuntak thought back to the first time he met you three years ago.
Sometimes, his training days would include going to different Tae Kwon Do studios after school. Because he had already been building up his reputation as an elite athlete, the other kids would freak out, trying to ask him questions or get an autograph. He was always told to just focus on his sparring and technique, not paying any mind to the other students.
As he was leaving practice that day, he noticed you in your own corner. You were trying to get the spinning hook kick down, unable to hit the mark your mentor held in place. He could tell you were frustrated, but your determination did not go unnoticed. He looked back at his team, telling them he would be right back.
Setting his duffle bag down, he stood behind you, trying to see your approach to the move.
"You're kicking too early." He said.
When you turned around, eyes meeting his, he began to feel different. Heat rose to his face, and his heart seemed to beat faster than normal, even after the cool down from his training. Taking in your pretty face, you looked to be about the same age. Your chocolate brown eyes widened, and he realized that he was the last person you'd expect to see.
Clearing his throat, he went on with his instructions. "Keep the kick small and not too wide, then hook at the last minute. Like this." He stepped away enough to show you how.
You slowly nodded your head, resuming your stance. He saw you take a deep breath and then go for it. The top of your foot hit its target with success. As the class cheered, you gave a short laugh of disbelief, grinning. He chuckled and clapped for you, too, enjoying the happiness radiating off of you.
"Thank you." You smiled, turning to bow at him before introducing yourself. "I'm y/n."
He bowed back. "I'm-"
"Hyuntak."
Opening his eyes, he turned around to see you standing in the living room. Your long black hair was tied up in a bun at the top of your head. He's only ever seen you in your uniform, both for school and Tae Kwon Do. Now you wore an oversized pink sweatshirt and matching sweatpants to go with it. You looked adorable.
"How are you feeling?" He asked, grabbing the mugs and walking towards you. Settling down on the floor and crossing his legs, he offered you one of the mugs.
Taking it, he tried not to show nerves as you sat down next to him, your shoulder brushing against his. "I'm better now, thanks."
Hyuntak watched as you took a sip, being careful not to burn yourself with the liquid. You sighed in satisfaction, licking your lips of the remaining trace. Not realizing he was staring a bit too long, you looked at him quizzically.
"What?"
"You're really cute." He smiled.
Heat rose to your face, and you turned away, your eyes landing on the hot chocolate. Hyuntak wasn't trying to embarrass you. He was simply stating a fact. A pretty face like yours was hard to forget, and he always looked forward to the day when he would see you again. It was quiet for a minute until you spoke up.
"What did you mean when you said 'it does now' two days ago," you said quietly, still not facing him. "You said that after the blonde guy told you the situation had nothing to do with you."
"Ah," He scoffed, annoyance crossing his features. "That idiot."
If it hadn't been for the other bully running after you, he would have killed him. He had managed to get a few good hits, but his blood still boils in anger when he thinks of the potential hurt he could have caused you. Hyuntak takes a breath, trying not to think about it.
Setting his drink down, he turned towards you. His hand gently came up to your chin, slowly making you face him. Your eyes told him you were anxious of what he might say next, so he tried to choose his next words carefully.
"Do you remember when we met?"
You nodded.
"You reminded me of what it was like to never give up. You were so determined to get the kick right, but one can only do so much alone. Sometimes, all it takes is a little help." The back of his thumb gently caressed your cheek.
"Now, as awesome as it was seeing you hit the guy in the balls," you both laughed at his choice of words, "you have to know that whenever you need help, that will include me. I want to be there for you."
He said it with such intensity, looking into your eyes, that you couldn't help but take his words for it. Who were you to not believe him? He watched as you placed your hand over his, taking it but still holding it against your face. Not letting it go, you held on as you said, "I want to be there for you, too."
Anticipation hung in the air, neither of you breaking eye contact. He could feel electricity run through his body at the touch of your hand, his heart beating fast at your words. Your hand felt warm, and he wondered if the callous on his bothered you. He also hadn't noticed you both had leaned towards each other until the sound of his ringtone caused the two of you to quickly move away.
Checking the caller i.d, it was Baku.
Hyuntak looked at you, "I'm sorry. I should probably take this."
"It's okay." You shook your head, leaning back and taking another sip of your drink.
He answered the call, trying to hide his irritation at his best friend's bad timing. "Hello?"
"Hey! The rain cleared up. We're at the basketball court and need you."
Looking at the time, he figured it was a good time as any to let you go about the rest of your day. He already inconvenienced you for about an hour.
"Okay, I'll be there soon." He hung up and turned to you. "I gotta go."
You watched him as he quickly downed the hot chocolate and set the mug on the table. He was confused when he saw you get up to leave, thinking he's upset you. Then you returned with his now dry clothes neatly folded atop one another.
"Thanks." He smiled. Shoving everything except his hoodie into his backpack, he made sure he had all his belongings before making his way to the front door. You followed, your arms crossed against your chest.
As he was shrugging into his hoodie, he asked you, "Are you okay with me walking you home again tomorrow?"
"Sure." You blushed. The rosy color on your cheeks made him smile. Slinging his backpack over his shoulders, he stepped down into the entrance and started putting on his sneakers one at a time.
"Also, I was thinking. How about you and I don't leave our next encounter to fate, hm?"
You arched a brow, "What do you mean?"
Hyuntak took out his phone and handed it over to you. Hesitating for a brief moment, you took his phone and typed in your contact info. You handed it back. His eyes flickered at you from under his eyelashes, pressing the call button on his phone. Your ringtone filled the house, and you scrambled to turn it off.
"Good to know it's not a bogus number." He laughed to himself at a memory.
You were puzzled at his words but decided it was better not to ask.
"I'll see you tomorrow then." He smiled, taking one last look at you before reaching for the door.
"See you tomorrow." You breathed, the feeling of butterflies in your stomach from earlier returning.
A/N: I should have mentioned this in the beginning, but I always pictured the story happening a few months after the events of whc2. The rest of the boys will appear again soon :)

trent alexander arnold x fem!reader. fluff. Trent who was rather interested in the reporter than the actual report he had to give.
Time was ticking on a thin thread for you as your supervisor might call you within five minutes if you do not interview, at least, one player of liverpool. You have been in the reporting field for at least seven months and you now also have juniors yet for you to move like an amateur was hurting your pride.
You are social issues reporter, going around different cities, and write an interesting jaw-dropping report then, call it a day. Sport reporting was not your forte, it is almost like . . fork found in your backpack. Simply out of place. The million dollar question ringing in your head was why were you here in Anfield Stadium at the first place but you face-palmed yourself on accepting to cover for your senior who was in her maternity leave. You had always hated whenever you had to cover for a reporter doing sports. No particular reasoning, just childhood trauma.
You saw all the liverpool footballer players walking out from the dressing room after a hot win. You crossed path with the tall, charismatic dutch leader of liverpool to the small growing liverpool superstar Endo but you had your goal set on the biggest prize, the player with a fresh trim, and his headphone on as every reporter tried catching his attention.
Trent Alexander Arnold, the star of Anfield and liverpool. Your supervisor might as well, move you to the Sports section if you got to interview Trent; you were not looking forward to that but a lady has bills to pay. You sighed as you had to save your job before it slipped away from your grip.
Just one interview, anyway. What is the harm? You held the sleeve of his tracker suit lightly, you needed this, you needed a bang.
"Great win in Anfield, innit? Please let us know about how are you feeling about the win?" You asked reaching your microphone out to the man. His gaze froze, so did his feet in front of you. It could be the audacity to block his way toward the team bus or the glitch of mischievousness in his eyes that flickered on your red hue cheeks.
Trent chuckled as he moved slightly forward removing his headphone, your eyes set on the man completely compelled from the bridge of his nose, deep doe eyes to his captivating smile. Everything about the man was setting you up for a failure, realizing how much of a bad idea this was.
"Yeah, yeah it is great team win but to become the last scorer for the win is a different achievement, so I am proud and happy." Trent answered, his eyes never leaving yours for a minute. His heavy scouser accent oozed out every word as Trent kept his smile intact.
His eyes glanced at you, noting the rose hue on your cheeks, one hand slightly shaking to hold onto the microphone and the other holding onto the notebook. "Come here, love. Let me hold that for you." He mumbled gripping on the microphone as your fingers brushed on his and you were secretly praying to every god that was staring upon you to not show your slight jump after the touch.
"Okay so-" You paused, clearly out of the atmosphere as you were in no place to check out players nor drool out your delusional ideas when you have a very angry supervisor waiting on the clock and an impatient cameraman behind you. "Yeah, I cannot lie, you . . you were great in the field." You complimented him quickly but you were not lying about it. With the long passes, and all the chances Trent created for the team; anyone can tell he was born to become a football player who succeeds with legacy.
"You were watching?" Trent asked raising his eyebrows in question. Utterly confused, you paused to flip your notebook to look at the man in front of you. With the silent eye contact, your neck burnt hot. You nodded sternly, a thin smile on your face. "Of course, I was watching, I mean, I am a reporter, can't be missing out on the main point of the whole show."
Trent kissed his teeth, he smirked, "So, tell me more. How was I on the field? Did you like what you see?" He winked at your direction. Your mind went blank, in what position does he have to be to flirt openly with a camera panning on his face? The burning hot sensation on your back came straight up and your heart beating fast was not helping to form words, "Like . . like I said, you were great. You are the star of liverpool after all." You sweetly smiled.
Trent had the cheeky smile on his face, his eyes lingering on your lips before glancing upward to your eyes. He knew what he was doing to you moving closer to the barrier between the reporters and the players.
You cleared your throat. "You are also the player of the match." You trailed off; Trent leaned closer. Call it the stadium being loud for him to not hear you clearly or he simply wanted to be close to you, to mesmerize the small moles on your face, to engulf himself on your warm scent.
"Are you excited for your next big game against Manchester City?" You inquired. All the back and forth staring and silence with Trent will not colour your supervisor impressed at all. You need to interview someone else that will not . . leave you speechless in minutes.
"Well it depends, to be very honest with you. Will you be in the next game?" Trent further pestered.
You furrowed your eyebrows in slight annoyance at the player for making everything about you while the whole fanbase would want to know more about him.
The cameraman behind you almost dropped his equipment taken back by the question. You did not know . . how to respond to the player who was attacking you with his doe eyes. Nervously, you laughed, "I cannot be certain about that. Are you and your team ready? It is one of the anticipated game of the season." You diverted his topic back to what you needed at the first place.
Trent stared at you without responding to your question, you quickly started shaking your leg anxiously as your eyes lingered at almost all the players leaving to go back to the training ground from the stadium. Your chances were blowing every second Trent silent in front of you.
During this period, you started considering finding other jobs, as you started making mental notes. With thoughts looming around your head, you did not come to realize Trent walked a few steps toward you, nibbling on his bottom teeth. He removed the microphone away from his lips, coming forward for a conversation that is sealed between you and the liverpool player.
You flinched at his hot breathe hitting your skin, as he gently held onto your forearm to keep you in position knowing you will move away from his contact.
You coughed away from his grip. "Have a great day then. We cannot wait till what magic liverpool can bring to Anfield once again."
"And you too, have a great day but i did not quite catch your name." He inquired with his wicked smirk playing on his face. He wants me gone, jobless. Clearly, with zero intention to support my penniless lifestyle.
You smiled, "If you do goal against Manchester City, I will let you know."
"Should we seal the deal with a kiss then, perhaps?"

( italics = flashback; [e/c] = eye colour)
“Thanos, huh?” [Y/N] mused , one finger gently gently tracing Su-Bong’s handwriting on the CD that laid upon his desk, the letters THANOS written on it with slightly smudged purple ink. “Yeah, he’s freakin’ powerful and so will I be. As a rapper I mean.” Su-Bong’s deep voice hummed from where his position on his bed, long legs resting against the wall as his head dangled over the edge.
“You don’t expect me to call you after a purple comic villain tho, do you?” [Y/N] turned looking at her best friend with an amused but slightly concerned expression.
Chuckling the boy sat up into a cross legged position. “Remember that movie you like so much? Where one only ever has power over someone else if you know their true name?” His eyes watched her as she leaned against his desk , crossing her arms in front of her chest. “Yeah , what about it ?” Her [e/c] gaze found his and he held it , an intense glimmer of something she couldn’t quite place in his eyes. “I want you to be the only one in my life who holds such power over me.” [Y/N]’s heart skipped a beat, her breath catching slightly at the gravity of his words. “Su-Bong-“
The abrupt humming of the platform underneath her feet, pulled [Y/N] out of her memory, dumping her back in the cruel reality of the games. Finding her balance, she observed how the spinning increased to an unnerving speed once again, the other remaining players shifting nervously from foot to foot. [Y/N]’s pulse thudded in her ears, eyes tracing the blur of red blood on the area surrounding the platform. Mingle…She had played this game a hundred times back in the day. Never once would she have thought that one day she’d be playing it for survival, and money, but mainly survival.
The voice blared through the speakers, cold and mechanical, announcing the start of yet another gruesome round.
“Three Players”
A collective groan rippled through the group as players began to scramble. Groups formed quickly—some with practiced ease, others with utter desperation. But for every group that came together, there were those left standing on the edges, scrambling for anyone who would take them. There was no time to waste. Groups had to be formed, and rooms had to be secured or else you’d suffer the fate of a brutal elimination.
[Y/N] stood frozen for a moment, scanning the room. She moved swiftly, trying to spot a familiar face, but each person she had some form of acquaintance with seemed to be taken already. Looking over her shoulder she caught a glimpse of Nam-gyu’s smirk as he locked eyes with another player, securing his spot, and her stomach tightened. If that rat could find someone, so could she….right?
A wave of panic rolled through her. She couldn’t get left behind to die. Not here. Not now. Not during a stupidly childish game such as mingle.
Glancing at the timer, [Y/N] darted toward a small group forming near a door, only to find the last spot already claimed. The seconds were ticking away. She barely heard the voice in her head telling her to stay calm. Her feet carried her from one group to the next, but each time, she was met with the same response: full.
Her breathing began to quicken. This is it. She was going to be eliminated. Shot by some masked cowards and left to rot away wherever this hellish place was located.
But then, just as her usual confidence slipped and her mind began to spiral, a firm hand gripped her wrist, pulling her back into the fray.
“Come on, let’s go,” came the low, familiar voice.
[Y/N]’s heart skipped a beat as she looked up, her breath catching in her throat. There he was— Su-Bong. His purple hair stood out in the crowd like a beacon. She couldn’t help herself as her eyes studied his expression. His sharp face holding that same calculating look she had come to know all too well over the past few days.
She didn’t have time to ask questions. Without a word, he tugged her towards one of the colourful doors leading into the little safe-rooms. Shortly before the timer reached 00:00 Nam-gyu slipped in the room as well, looking unusually pleased with himself as he cane to a halt with his arms crossed. The player he had previously been with was nowhere to be seen.
“You made it just in time,” Thanos said to him, his tone almost casual, as if he hadn’t just pulled [Y/N] from the edge of elimination.
Nam-gyu raised an eyebrow, giving [Y/N] a long, appraising look before letting out a laugh. “Well, well. I actually found us some idiot but then I had to get rid of him again once I saw that you got yourself some arm candy,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. His eyes flicked from [Y/N] to Thanos, a smug grin spreading across his face. “I thought you didn’t need anyone, Thanos. But I guess even you can’t resist a damsel in distress.”
The comment struck a nerve, but Thanos didn’t flinch. Instead, he smirked, his gaze never wavering from Nam-gyu as he casually leaned against the wall of the room.
“She practically threw herself at me,” Thanos said, his voice smooth, as if the words came effortlessly. “I’m just being a good guy, taking the poor thing off the chopping block.”
As his voice registered in her mind, [Y/N] felt a heat rise in her chest, her fingers clenching at her sides. This bastard...She wanted to retort, to throw his words back in his face, but she held herself back. Not now. Not in this tiny space and most certainly not in front of Nam-gyu. The last thing she wanted was to give him any more ammunition.
Instead, she let her focus drift to the gunshots outside, silently counting as the air in the room grew thick with tension.
Nam-gyu’s eyes narrowed as he leaned against the wall opposite of Thanos, arms crossed over his chest, looking between the two of them. “So, what’s the deal here?” His voice was casual, but his eyes were sharp. “You’re telling me that you—who’s got a reputation for being untouchable—are suddenly the knight in shining armor for our little friend here?”
Su-Bong didn’t even acknowledge the question at first, staring coolly ahead. His posture was still relaxed, his confidence unwavering. He slid his hands into his pockets, leaning his head back against the wall in a way that made it clear he wasn’t bothered by the confrontation.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said, his voice deep and even, eyes meeting Nam-gyu’s without a hint of hesitation. “She was about to be left without a group. Thought I’d step in and make sure her blood wouldn’t be staining my shoes next round.”
Nam-gyu raised an eyebrow, his expression more amused than anything. “Yeah, sure. Whatever you say.” He looked over at [Y/N], the hint of a grin tugging at the corner of his lips. [Y/N] couldn’t hold back any longer. “You’re a real piece of work, aren’t you?” she bit out, her voice cold. But Thanos just turned his head slowly, eyes meeting hers with a look that could’ve frozen her on the spot.
“You’re just lucky I decided to save you,” he said, the words coming out with a clipped edge that made it clear he wasn’t entirely unaffected by the situation either. “You should be thanking me, not playing the victim.”
Her jaw clenched, but she didn’t respond. Instead, she stepped away from him, moving to the far side of the room and crossing her arms tightly over her chest. She didn’t care what he thought. She didn’t need him. She wasn’t going to thank him.
Thanos watched her for a moment, his usual smirk slipping, replaced by something unreadable in his gaze. But before he could say anything else, the lock clicked and the door sprung open.
Squeezing past the two boys, [Y/N] didn’t flinch. She had no time for Su-Bong’s games, and she wasn’t about to let him get to her now.
Thanos looked over at her, rushing after her with big steps. “If the next round is two, I’ll send Nam-Guy off to find that other idiot.” he said, his voice carrying a hint of something darker now. “You’re with me.”
The words hung in the air for a moment. Something about the way he said it made her skin crawl. Not in the same way like it did whenever it seemed like he was enjoying this, this twisted game they were all a part of, but in a way that made her heart stutter like it did all those years ago.
Nearing the giant platform, [Y/N] decided that she wasn’t going to let him play with her mind anymore. This torturous hell simply was neither the right place , nor the right time for feelings of such a complexity. And to be quite honest, she wasn’t even sure if Su-Bong was the right person anymore, like he had been what felt like a lifetime ago.
Finally, she spoke, her low voice slightly wavering. “That won’t be necessary. Good luck, Player 230.”
The words were simple, but the sting of them hit Thanos like a punch to the gut. His smirk faltered , and in the brief silence that followed, he understood exactly what she was doing. She wasn’t addressing him with his name as she once had. Shutting that door to their shared past. He was nothing more than a number now. Just another player in this game.
The weight of the words settled over him like a crushing weight. Player 230. The reminder was bitter—she had always known him as Su-Bong. And now, all of that, every connection, every shared moment, was slipping away from him.
His throat tightened. He wanted to say something, anything to push back against that cold indifference in her tone. But the words didn’t come. Instead, he stood there, staring at her as the final moments of the game began to unfold.
[Y/N] didn’t look at him again. Her form leaving his field of vision as she mingled with the crowd. Thanos, however, stayed frozen, the words Player 230 echoing in his mind.
The last thread of his past, the last hint of the person he used to be, had just been severed.
And for the first time, he wasn’t sure if he’d ever get it back.

HAPPY LATE VALENTINES DAY BAES
SORRY FOR NOT POSTING IT WAS MY BDAY YESTERDAY AND I HAD A PARTY TODAY AND YESTERDAY SO I WAS QUITE BUSY BUT I WILL CONTINUE WRITING LIKE RN 😚😚😚
arisu x gn!reader
genre: fluff bcos i’m being nice, implied soulmates, shortfic
warnings: canon divergence and mentions of death, hospitals, injuries, blood, underage drinking and alcohol.
synopsis: It’s New Years’. You take some time to think about your closest friend and how nice fireworks are.
author’s note: happy new year! thank you for all the kindness this year again. i hope you can continue to enjoy my works as i hopefully improve even more! thank you again. enjoy the fireworks as well as this fic featuring one of the characters that bring me most comfort! arisu ryohei. cheers c:
“How long has it been since you last saw fireworks?”
“Since that day.”
You looked up as the fireworks found by a group of hopeful teenagers set off and fired into the sky. They exploded into what felt like millions of colors from this up-close, floating above the hill you laid on. The grass was cold but the breeze was light.
It was New Years’, according to someone who’d managed to keep count. In the Borderlands, you didn’t think you’d ever celebrate that. But as old habits die hard, so do traditions. So when a group of high-schoolers giddily yell about having found nice alcohol and fireworks to celebrate, you can’t really do anything about how much their anticipation rubs off on you.
“I didn’t think I would feel this happy watching fireworks.” Arisu hummed in thought, before nodding to himself with a tight-lipped smile, “In here or ever, really.”
“Did you watch them before all of this? We didn’t talk much back in high school.”
“If Karube and Chota managed to pull me out of my room, then sometimes, yeah.” he said and cracked a bright, nostalgic smile. “Did you?”
“Maybe.” you sighed, smiling to yourself.
“So vague.” Arisu chuckled, “But really. This is kind of nice.”
You hummed in agreement. “It is. Surprisingly so.”
You heard cheering from further away and watched as the lights flew closer to the stars again. Arisu’s hand slowly moved over yours, and then clung onto it like it was the most important thing in the world. Truth was sometimes it did feel this way. Maybe you were the most important thing in each other’s worlds. Maybe you cared about one another more than you did anyone else. Maybe you would never admit it alive unless you’d fear one of you would die. But sometimes even while unsaid, some truths are spoken silently— Like in this case, through the touch of your hands holding each other.
You ignored the pain of the open wound under the bandages on your finger and Arisu did the same. Blood seeped through the white fabric and you knew you’d have to redo the whole bandage soon but in this moment not a part of you could worry or care about that. Maybe the comfort of holding each other’s hand was enough to numb the pain.
A new year didn’t mean much here. Maybe it didn’t mean much at all, even in the real world. But you made a wish to the stars for things to be okay this time around— For you two to be together, always. And Arisu silently hoped for you two to survive and somehow get out of this happy, and together.
Months since the meteors. And since the hospital.
You met Arisu Ryohei again.
You two were in the same class for a few years back in high school but hadn’t really talked much since. Somehow, seeing each other again while walking outside the hospital and realizing you’d both survived what seemed like the impossible brought you back together. And as of now, he was probably your closest friend.
As his closest friend, you decided it would be nice to spend New Year’s together to watch the fireworks or maybe fall asleep before it even reached midnight. Whatever it was, Arisu seemed to be on board. He liked coming over and staying with you, anyway.
The sun had long set and the stars were bright.
“Has it been a while since you saw fireworks?”
“Logically, yes. Somehow it doesn’t feel that long.”
Arisu hummed in agreement. “Same. Weird, huh?”
You laughed. “After everything? Honestly, not that much.”
Arisu chuckled and leaned back against the couch on your apartment balcony. It was a funny feeling to be thankful something as unbelievable as meteors crashing down on Tokyo and nearly killing you happened. It was a funny thing to love someone so much you’d be alright going through all the pain again if it meant meeting them again.
Arisu felt it too. Something way longer than the minute the doctors had told him about. Something like a lifetime of suffering spent alongside someone he held dear. Someone who helped him stay alive and not give up. Someone who sat at his side, watching fireworks in comforting silence. Someone he always felt close to without knowing why.
There was something both nostalgic and comforting about the fireworks. You couldn’t tell why exactly.
When Arisu’s hand timidly reached over to hold yours, you felt like it always belonged there, telling you all the things he didn’t dare say out loud.
I think I love you.
You tightened your hand around his and took a deep breath.
This is stupid but it feels like I’ve always known you.
Maybe the stars shining alongside the light of the fireworks had been kind enough to make the two of you meet again. Or perhaps the red scars that circled around your pinkies like rings were made with fate. Either way, you were meant to be.

psa🗣️: hi angel! and hello to my trent girlies! i haven’t written for trent before so i hope you enjoy this 🤍
you felt stuck. constantly looking around and avoiding the man that had consumed your thoughts in ways you didn’t picture. feeling awkward and timid when he walked past you or your eyes connected.
the trip was last minute, you didn’t plan to go if it wasn’t your friend insisting you went since she would be alone. you didn’t want to go, it meant you would have to see trent after you avoided him since he confessed his feelings to you.
trent wasn’t one to speak much. always reserved and kept to himself, a completely different person on the pitch and in real life. but with you, he felt he could speak for hours about everything, not once get tired of it. you let him be the person he would’ve never pictured to be.
what went wrong?
he knew you from the back of your hand. needed to keep yourself busy in order to survive. an almost graduate from uni and working at your dream internship. a small volunteer worker just outside the city.
he knew when you lied, scrunching your eyes brows and hands twitching. he knew when you felt happy, the small wrinkles and dimples popping on your face. he knew you were upset when you bit your lip and unfocused around your surroundings.
trent knew you felt the same way he did but this time he couldn’t properly read you, left hurt and confused by your manner. “i’m in love you with y/n… i’ve never felt like this for anyone before. and it feels so right when i’m here, with you.”
his brows drew in when your smile slowly dropped, pulling your hands back and cleared your throat. “trent…” you whispered, you clenched your jaw unsure of what to say. “i need time to think of this. i-i-i just don’t know what to say…” you stood up and grabbed your coat.
“say you love me back,” trent prayed in his head, watching you stumble around to retrieve your belongings. “what do you mean? i confess how i feel and you’re running away?”
“i need time to think. this is all so sudden, and i don’t want to pressure either of us. or give us false hope,” you smiled trying to reason and not break his heart. but trent’s heart broke, a millions thoughts racing in his head and the idea of not being enough tracing back.
he fluttered his lashes and painfully smiled, was he about to cry? is this what pain felt like? a stab in the heart, millions of needles poking in his chest as his hands fisted. “well you know the way out…” trent motioned with his hand, walking to the side to let you go.
you approached him, having the urge to explain why you said what you said, but he walked back. tears came out your eyes, knowing you hurt the man you loved in front of you. “trent,” you croaked, but he just shook his head.
“don’t.”
not a single soul knew of the two of you. a private secret. he wanted to protect you from his hectic world. and you wanted to have something genuine and real. you had something real. had. but like always you ruined it. like every person who walked into your life, leaving because you were scared.
trent was straight forward with you. always communicating with you. the only person you found yourself lurking to at the end of the day. his touch lingering on you ever when you weren’t together. the way he smiled made your heart heat up and your hands slightly tremble.
you didn’t deserve him. you were a broken person. afraid of committing. you were afraid of love. the idea of falling for a person, so hopelessly devoted to them, and in the end for it to not work out. you easily got attached, and it wasn’t any different with trent.
trent had a way different life than yours. lights, money, women, his job, all shining on him wherever he went. he had a family, friends, a base supporting him, while you it was just your sister and trio. he constantly reminded you he wasn’t the person in the papers, which was true.
he valued you. he trusted you. he confided in you. he respected you. he loved you. why couldn’t you just allow yourself to be with him? why did it feel hard to finally accept and take the leap of faith and be with the man who has ever truly loved you?
you were stressed. constantly turning in your sleep. eyes closing but your head refusing for you to sleep. chest rising and falling as you listened quietly to the rain fall. the sheets barely covering your body, and the pillow feeling less fluffy and now hot. with a small groan you stood up, the time reading almost 4 am.
you tipped tied downstairs. walking by the room your friends and his friends were occupied in. the thunder and lightning shining in the open and clear windows. you opened the cabinet and grabbed a glass, pouring cold water to relieve your dry throat.
you closed your eyes, hands gripping the counter as you felt goosebumps suddenly rise. “couldn’t sleep?” you gasped quietly, the glass slowly tipping before quickly catching it and standing up straight. trent stood there, bags under his eyes, lips pursed with his arms crossed. muscles flexed under the loose black tee he wore with his black calvin klein boxers.
“something like that,” you said, averting your gaze, hand coming up to brush your skin or maybe the nerves away. he stepped closer, inspecting you, noticing you were wearing the small black shirt he owned with your batman themed shorts. “same. couldn’t sleep with all the noise outside…” trent confessed, also grabbing a cold glass of water.
you went quiet. the feeling of guilt consuming your insides as you kept asking yourself if this was truly happening. you couldn’t stop staring, savouring maybe the last few glances in case it would be the last. trying to make a mental imprint of the moles you traced while he slept, the small scar under his brow, his lips.
your throat went dry again, but this time the cold glass of water wasn’t going to help, the only thing that could was finally take that leap and let him out of misery for the two of you. “trent…” you said softly, hearing him and finally connecting eyes.
“don’t you think i deserve an explanation?” he asked with a sad smile. you bit your lip and nodded. “yes you do. and i’m willing to explain everything, but i understand if it’s too late,” you respected his feelings knowing he deserved this but also not wanting to push him to the limit.
“i love you. i do. so much. i need you to know that before i start saying anything,” his eyes widened a bit, mouth opened to say something but you shushed him. “for once in my life, i can’t let you or us go. i made the mistake that night and i beat myself for it. not only did i hurt you in the process but also the idea of us.”
“i’m scared,” you teared, smiling. “it’s scary to feel this way. to have my heart racing when i hear your name, our song, your voice. love to me always felt like a joke or fantasy. love is about letting someone know your map of flaws and imperfections. to fully be vulnerable.”
“love with you though? is like a dream come true. you understand me more than i understand myself. you saw me for who i am and not the person i put myself to be. you love me at my prettiest and also lowest. you hold me close, kiss my forehead, and use those words of reassurance i need to hear and always believe.”
“i love when you sleep next to me, where i get to stare at the prettiest man on earth as you sleep. i love to see your smile get bigger when i tell you about the kids at my volunteer work or my jokes. i love to sit with you at the end of the day and allow me to hear about your job and family. to see the flowers you send or bring when i see you. trent i love you, so much.”
“i’m scared to lose you. to lose the only person i’ve let into my life this close,” you shrugged smiling painfully, holding yourself tighter as you wiped your tears away. you hear his footsteps approach, sobbing quietly when he pulls you closer to him, his hand brushing your head, feeling his lips kiss your temple. the longing feeling replaced with warmth and safety.
your skin becoming hot and getting rid of the cold goosebumps and chilling feeling in your chest. you kiss his chest, tip toeing up as you continue to trace his neck and jaw, his cheeks with kisses mixed with your tears. “i’m sorry. i’m so sorry trent,” you apologised, your hand gripping his bicep.
“stop. don’t torture yourself anymore. let me hold you. let me feel you. it’s just you and me, okay? shhhh,” he hushed you, repeating his same movements to help you calm down. you sniffled, pulling back slightly after a minute. “i deserve you. i love you, and your imperfections and flaws. for allowing me to become the man i wished and longed to be.”
“please don’t push me away anymore. you aren’t ever going to lose me, because what we have is eternal. your love to me is a safe space, the world and women i dreamed of having and i finally have it now. it’s you, always will be you baby,” he brushed your tears away, feeling your lips kiss his wrist and hand, losing himself in your eyes.
“i love every single part of you.”
the chilling counter made you hold trent tighter while laughing, feeling and hearing his deep chuckle as his hands traced your thighs. “are you ready now?” he asked, kissing your collarbone. “more than ready,” you said, officially taking the leap of faith.
he sighed and let his shoulders fall in a relaxed manner and smiling, watching as his eyes closed and lashes touched his upper cheeks. “trent look at me…” he stood up and grabbed your chin, “i love you,” you felt the need to say to confirm your feelings and his. “i love you, pretty girl,” his nose nuzzled into your neck, tracing all the way up to your cheek.
you sealed the night with the anticipated kiss. getting the blood rush through your veins, as you fully focused on him. his lips feeling like home. his fingers bringing your face closer to his and getting lost in the way he devoured you. not in a rushed or hard manner, in a passionate and loving way.
“my girl officially.”
need finnick taking of reader while they’re hungover & he’s *lovingly* scolding them being like “i told u u were gonna regret drinking that much” & just being boyf material.
Sat on your knees, you were hunched over the toilet, letting out all of last night’s remains. The events of the previous night were still a blur to you, but that wasn’t really your main concern at the moment. “That’s good. Let it all out.” Your boyfriend was standing behind you, holding your hair back so it wouldn’t get dirty or in the way.
Mumbles of regret left your lips and you turned your head to look at Finnick. The corners of his lips tugged into a slight smile as he said, “What did I tell you last night?”
He handed you a glass of water he had already prepared for you before you woke up. With a roll of your eyes, you took a sip of the water before responding unwillingly, “To not drink so much…” Finnick couldn’t resist the laugh he let out at the slight pout on your face. He thought it was cute how much you were regretting all of last night.
You sighed and took a moment to yourself on the bathroom floor, your head spinning uncontrollably. When you wanted to lay down, your boyfriend knew that was his cue to bring you back to bed.
He scooped you up and you wrapped your arms the back of his neck. After he had put you down on the bed, he got up to get something to eat and medicine for you. “Wait,” You said while you grabbed ahold of his arm, “Can you stay, please? Just for a little while.”
And oh, how could he turn you down when you looked up at him so sweetly. He nodded and got in the bed beside you. As you settled your head on his shoulder, you let out a small sigh. “I knew you were gonna regret drinking so much.” Your boyfriend commented with a chuckle, earning a small groan from you.
a/n: thought i’d try a different layout for this one 😝 tysm for the request anon and i hope you like it even though it’s super short 💘💘
FINNICK FLUFF FINNICK FLUFF FINNICK FLUFF
Nah but same my passion for this fandom reignited after watching tbosas, and I forgot how much I loved Finnick. Peeta and everyone else is absolutely great but Finnick's story just... My heart :( So any fluff resulting in Finnick getting a big old cuddle and being allowed to ask for things he wants and needs instead of doing anything he's asked out of instinct would be right up my alley, if that's amenable to you!
here it is i kind of combined it with another request but i hope you like it 🤍 TYSMMM FOR THE REQUEST
