I am a university student and I always imagined my dreams and my future. I dreamed of becoming a doctor, but unfortunately the war came and my university was destroyed. I want to travel abroad and I want to complete my studies and dreams. I want a life free of bombing. I want a life that has the basics of life. I do not want a life of luxury. I just want the basics!!! (Water, food, electricity, safety, education, medicine, net)

I want to put pictures of me before the war and pictures after the war, so that you know how much the war affected us and how difficult and destructive it was and how much we suffered

It breaks my heart to see that the world is such that there is no one to hold the Zionist state and the US empire accountable. The Zionists keep on crying about October 7th and the hostages, and every Western institution keeps on coddling them. There has been no genuine acknowledgement of the fact that the British government implanted an illegal settler colony in Palestine and that settler colony forced the native people out of their homes in 1948. There has been no genuine acknowledgent of the horrors of the Nakba, no acknowledgement of ethnic cleansing, no acknowledgement of the destruction of the land in trying to hide the genocide of 1948 through greenwashing, there has been no acknowledgement of the fact that Gaza has been an open air prison, and that Hamas has every right to push back against the oppression of the Zionist state. Right now another genocide is being carried out in front of our eyes, with enthusiastic encouragement from the Western world, the most complicit being the USA. It was always about re-occupation of Gaza and today the Zionist state violated the ceasefire. I am scared for my friends. I am terrified and I do not know how to help except to keep the fundraisers circulating.

For close to two years now, students in Gaza have been living a life of uncertainty. When I talk to my friends, they often tell me how difficult it has been to access even the most basic necessities of life. Still they are persevering with the hope that one day they will rebuild both Gaza and their lives back. They have enrolled themselves in online courses and distance learning programs and are working hard to get a degree. However these cost money- from renting a space, to paying for both electric and net connection to do the course work. So to help with that, Gaza based ISNAD FOUNDATION ( reblogged by Nabulsi ) has been started and for now it is sponsoring 30 students. The goal is to raise $2000 USD per month to cover these bases. While we complain about, let's say, the ever-rising price of eggs - 2€ here, $10 in the US - how much might these same eggs cost for Ola, in a country where all production is stopped & barely any food can be imported? Well, for Ola and her family, every single food item & necessity has prices comparable to what one would normally only spend on perhaps a trip or even rent - each egg, or fruit, or vegetable, is like a luxury item, and meat is out of the question entirely. On top of that, Ola is unable to work or earn any money, so she & her family are completely dependent on this campaign for basic survival. In this art piece, I wanted to portray Ola's dreams that were crushed by the current situation, where she can barely survive.
