whats your opinion on season 8? and will you ever be making any post cannon fics?

i loved it. i loved the Lance and Allura plot line, i loved the battle scenes, i loved how it ended (even though it completely broke me. i shall never heal ffs). i’m sad that it’s over tbh :(

if an idea for post canon comes up, i will definitely write it! with the new season, i already have a ton of new fics popping into my head that i plan on writing - i’ve just gotta find the time

From the prompt: Shiro and Keith’s first date on Earth after season 7

“It’s so peaceful out here. Forgot how much I missed it,” Keith mused idly, wiping his mouth with his sleeve.

On a logical level, Shiro knew he should have found it appalling, but for reasons he didn’t care to further explore, the thought of crumbs and juice that had once been on Keith’s mouth littering his old jacket had his mouth running dry. He sipped at his bottle of water to buy himself more time to remember how to speak.

“Yeah, it’s really nice,” Shiro finally agreed quietly.

The first time was Matt’s fault.The older of the Holt siblings had managed to convince Shiro that he could put off grading papers for one night in favour of meeting the gang for drinks in a nice little pub with good food and music. It had been a long time since Shiro last got a chance to unwind, he reasoned, a nice night out with friends would be good for him. Really, what could go wrong?

After ten years apart, Shiro meets Keith again. Keith has grown, and Shiro is a disaster.

Shiro lives in the studio apartment over the shop, and so he always has a view of that tree, day and night—he watches it change from vibrant green to deepest red as the seasons change and thinks of home.”

After losing his arm in the Air Force, Shiro buys a flower shop. Keith’s tattoo shop moves in next door, and Shiro comes back out of the shell he’s built around himself, little by little.

“Yes?” Shiro strokes Keith’s cheeks. Even his prosthetic, with all its flat metallic surfaces, feels calming.

Keith’s mouth twitches. “We don’t have to- to- do anything or decide anything but I just.” Keith bites his lip. Instead of saying it out loud, he gets on his tip-toes and leans closer.

“Oh,” says Shiro. Pleased, low.

“Shush,” says Keith and then their lips meet, complete with all the fireworks and racing hearts and clammy palms Keith has come to expect with crushes and love and like.
