Something’s wrong with them.
(From the Kickstarter)
Kagami is soooooo clearly autistic and i think most people agree on this so I think we sleep on the fact that Adrien is like the only person in the show (besides Félix ig, but you can apply this to him as well) who immediately got her. like Adrien and Kagami are on a wavelength. like everyone thought Kagami was awkward and weird and didn't understand her but Adrien just thought she was cool and nice. I'm almost positive that if a character commented to Adrien about Kagami being "weird" he literally wouldn't understand what they were referring to. Kagami commented all the time about how similar her and Adrien were and how that made them perfect for each other. Marinette, the other person who Adrien clearly super vibes with and gets along super well with, is also commonly agreed upon to be ADHD. The most Adrien thought of Marinette's extremely outlandish behavior around him was that it was "sweet and just her charm" (literally his words to Kagami in Protection). In general there's almost a trend in the show where the more openly neurodivergent a character is the more Adrien seems to vibe with them and is comfortable around them. Adrien is not neurotypical in this essay i will
Some fake comic panels I made for an edit
Idk if this counts as a meta, but I wanted to kind of share my thoughts on smth.
I think the core difference between Karma and Terasaka at the start of the series is their values. Bc yeah you would think they’re both careless delinquents who don’t listen for shit, but there’s a very important and specific reason why Terasaka’s actions anger Karma so much.
From the start of the series, we know that Karma has a strong rule of not hurting innocent people. That’s why he got sent to 3-E, beats up bullies, etc. And what Terasaka does continually at first is put other’s lives in danger for his own reasons. He almost sacrificed Nagisa, and he puts his own classmates in harm’s way in Vision Time.
This goes completely against Karma’s morals. The last thing Karma ever wants is for innocent people to get hurt. Even in his own episode, he never hurts his classmates in all his attempts to kill Koro. In the end, when he jumps off the cliff, it goes to show that the only life he is fully willing to sacrifice or harm for a greater reason is his own.
Meanwhile, Terasaka had done the opposite. But keep in mind, I’m not calling him a bad person. Terasaka is just an example of a child who has been failed by the education system and left to believe he’s a good-for-nothing. He literally coped with those feelings by embracing them, even if it meant having to put himself over others. He did take accountability in canon and changed for the better.
Karma and Terasaka are foils in the sense that they each undergo a huge transformation in character, and endure things for positive growth. I just thought it was interesting to point out a key difference between them that explains how Terasaka’s actions must’ve really impacted Karma in that episode.
бже, это прекрасно!!!! Я буду это смотреть и восхищаться, плакать слезами счастья😭😭😭😭😭
Thinking about how I would write an adult Scooby-Doo series, because I think it can be done.
The first thing I’d do is make the characters actually be adults. Still young, but adults, in the mid to late 20s range. Mystery Inc. is a private detective type business that they run together. In this universe, the supernatural/ghosts/etc are real, but not necessarily common, so when they take on a case, the culprit might be a person disguised as a monster, or it might actually be a real ghost. The stakes can be higher; sometimes a bad guy is legitimately trying to kill them. Sometimes the mystery they’re trying to solve is a murder. Sometimes they actually get hurt on their cases.
Fred: the core of Fred’s character should be that he’s incredibly kind. Like, give a stranger the shirt off his back kind. The “Fred can’t talk to potential clients because he might take a case for free and we need to eat” kind. He’s an honest and good person and sometimes gets himself into trouble because he assumes other people are too. While he’s not very good at reading people or noticing ulterior motives, he’s brilliant when it comes to mechanical or engineering type stuff, so he’s the one who keeps the mystery machine running, builds their gadgets, and of course, designs the traps.
Daphne: she comes from old money, and her parents absolutely despise her life choices, to the point where they haven’t officially disowned her, but they have basically cut her off, so she doesn’t actually have access to any family money. Growing up wealthy has granted her a variety of skills, including speaking multiple languages, horseback riding, and fencing. She’s very into fashion and jewelry (even if she can’t afford it anymore) and has extensive knowledge of both that can occasionally provide a vital clue in a case. And even though her parents have cut her off, Daphne still has a wide network of contacts she can ask for favors sometimes, because she’s personable, and people tend to like her. Daphne is also very emotionally intelligent, and is usually the one who can spot when someone is lying to them.
Side note - I ship Fred and Daphne, so I think I would start them off as an established couple for this universe. Dating, engaged, married, I don’t care. They are stupidly in love, ride or die for each other. There’s no will they, won’t they, no worries about cheating. They are in a healthy, happy, loving relationship, and no one (not even Daphne’s disapproving parents) are going to mess that up for them.
Velma: she is the forensics nerd who sometimes gets super excited about the wrong thing at the wrong time (”He was mummified in seconds? That’s so cool!” “Velma! His wife is standing right there!” “Oh. Sorry.”). She’s not purposely insensitive, she just gets laser focused on her work and forgets to filter herself sometimes. She’s also the one who can get so fixated on solving whatever mystery they’re working on, she’s willing to bend or maybe break laws. Is breaking and entering really so bad? Not if it gets them answers.
Shaggy: he is still the comic relief, but he’s the comic relief by being the only person in the group that actually has common sense. He manages the business’s finances, he’s the only one who knows how to cook, and the others tease him for being a coward sometimes, but Shaggy maintains that if a ghost with an axe is coming for you, running is the only sensible option. He should also have a range of random knowledge that sounds useless, but sometimes saves the day (ex ventriloquism, origami, the history of spoons, etc).
Scooby: as this is a universe where supernatural creatures exist, Scooby is an ancient eldritch type being that took a shine to Shaggy when he was a kid, and took the form of a talking dog to befriend and hang out with him. Aside from the talking dog bit and not aging, he never uses his powers in a way that anyone notices. The audience is not told upfront that Scooby is an ancient eldritch being; it should slowly be hinted at throughout the series so the audience put it together, but the characters never realize it. Scooby genuinely considers Shaggy to be his best friend, and cares about the rest of the gang too.
What your personal headcanons for percy platoon?👀
Would love to hear your headcanons~
Thank you so much for answering I looooove recieving questions !!
These headcannons are for the Percy Platoon so :
• Percival
• Nasiens
• Anne
• Donny
• Lancelot, honorary member
▪︎ Percival cooks for the Platoon every day just like his grandpa did for him . Seeing his friends faces light up when they try his food makes his day .
▪︎ Anne loves tending to Donny's hair . Whenever it gets to long or too tangled for Donny to handle, Anne will huff, grab his hand and pull him to sit down so that she can take care of his hair . Sometimes she combs it or trims it or pulls it into cute hairstyles . Donny complains and groans loudly when his hair ends up being covered in little bows and ribbons but deep down he still appreciates it .
▪︎ The Platoon goes on daily jogs or do little exercices to help Nasiens build up his stamina .
▪︎ Sometimes Percival gets nightmares about his grandpa's death and wakes up in sweat and tears . Despite being sleepy, the Platoon always rushes to his side to comfort him . Donny throws his arm around Percy's. Anne uses her hands to wipe the tears tracks of his cheeks and push his hair out of his face, Nasiens squeezes his hands until they stop shaking and Lancelot curls up to Percy's side in his fox form. Even after Percy eventually falls asleep they still stay close to him, looking out for him .
▪︎ Everyone carries Lancelot around in his fox form . Donny keep him on his shoulder, Anne carries him under his armpits, Nasiens cradles him like a baby ( he only does this when Lance is asleep tho, cause he would never let him do that if he was awake ) and Percy hugs him to his chest .
Fuck these are really short, I wish I could continue but I'm really tired lol,I'll do a part two .
Thanks @mertylmylove for this I looooove answering questions like these !!
Dude, can you imagine looking in your Alternative dimension evil counterpart's eyes and seeing every bit of your self-harming and suicidal tendencies manically smiling back at you?
This moment is absolutely insane. Griffe Noire's entire face is twitching because he's THIS eager to proof his good counterpart Chat Noir wrong that he has any power over him. That ANYONE has any power over him that could actually hurt him, just like our Adrien is forced in basically every dynamic he has to hide away his negative emotions bc it could bother or inconvenience someone.
It's one of the most extreme coping mechanisms regarding emotional and physical vulnerability or helplessness. Deliberately tanking any kind of pain to "proof" that NOTHING anyone can do "could possibly hurt or break you".
This is by far the most unhinged and insane Griffe Noire is in the special. His TRULY worst sides only comes out when he interacts with our Adrien/Chat Noir which really brings home just how much self-loathing Alt Adrien (or let's be real, this is still a reflection of our Adrien too) internalized
Which in turn then made their later bonding moment of mutual and unconditional self-acceptance all the more important for both of their paths to healing.
Dont mind me-
I love to see five of them sticking with each other. Scripture-fetching gang is a family!
