I'm not mourning the queen AT ALL. She directly benefited from the colonization of Yemen, India, Ireland, Rwanda, Uganda, the Maori, Scotland, Pakistan, the Indigenous of Australia and North and South America etc. A lot of you are real fucking quiet about how they were treated. I know what happens to Feyre in the next book, I know how he ends up treating her and I saw some of the red flags hidden in earlier chapters but this moment right here...

This moment is crucial because it is the only time they've been alone together in months. This moment where they could have run, run back to the Spring Court, passed the wall and south far beyond Amarantha's reach is spoiled because Tamlin decides having sex in a closet is more important. Do I think Tamlin genuinely loved Feyre when they were together at the Spring Court? Yes. Do I think Tamlin genuinely loves Feyre in this moment? Yes but in this moment he also proved that he cares more about his curse being broken than he cares about her.

This is, in my opinion, the true beginning of their end because Tamlin, not only, chooses himself over Feyre but has lost faith in her. Feyre believes with her whole being that she is about to die and Tamlin believes it too but instead of trying to save her, he chooses goodbye sex.

I guess that explains why Renaissance was so triggered about milk

I’d be like “Oh, I like how they visualized this one scene, it was different from the comics but I don’t think they original comics visualizations would have worked in live action “ or whatever And then Neil Gaiman might appear like “Yeah, we were having trouble figuring out how to do that scene until one of our production designers had a vivid hallucination while eating a 3AM Gyro purchased from an all-night food truck outside the Bass Pro Shop pyramid” and I don’t think I’m ready for that experience. Alternatively, I could say “Dream is a little too scrungly to be a classic Tumblr Sexyman, but he is prime meow-meow blorbo material” and Neil Gaiman might appear and say “Yeah, we were having trouble figuring out the exact ratio of Sexyman, poor little meow meow, and Blorbo, but the final characterization appeared to Tom Sturridge in a vivid hallucination while eating a 3AM Gyro purchased from an all-night food truck outside the Bass Pro Shop pyramid” and I don’t think I’m ready for THAT either.

"funny" how you always hear "asexual ppl are still capable of love!!" but never "aromantic are still capable of physical attraction!!" almost as if sex and the aromantic community in general were highly demonized <3 nah instead we get "aromantic ppl are still capable of love!!" which is incredibly harmful for a multiple of reasons. big sigh

(this isn't an attack on asexuals btw, i just hate the double standard and the "x community is still capable of y" statement to begin with)

Ugg boots (generic term, not trademarked) are a traditional sheepskin slipper and are usually made by small family owned businesses using local artisans and Australian sheepskin. They are not a fashion item. They are the warmest and comfiest slippers you'll own, and the sort of thing so daggy I'd get embarrassed if my parents wore them out further than the driveway.

Then Deckers, an American footwear brand, decided to step in and trademark the term ugg. There was a protracted legal battle, and they lost the trademark in Australia but kept it everywhere else in the world. This means that Australian bootmakers can only use the word "ugg" in Australian markets. You'd better believe Deckers are suing any small business that dares try to sell ugg boots outside Australia, for copyright infringement and some bullshit about "damaging their brand".

On top of which, instead of high quality locally made boots where workers are getting paid fairly, they've outsourced production to China.

So fuck UGG™, fuck Deckers, and please support small businesses (if you can do so without getting them sued).

thinking about that time I was at some kind of diversity and inclusion thing that involved discussion in small groups and one straight girl said she really wanted to be a good ally but sometimes there were some things she just didn’t know and was too afraid to ask for fear of accidentally being offensive. and as the only queer person in this 4-5 person group I said well go ahead and ask me, I don’t care if you accidentally use the wrong term right now or whatever, it’s better to talk about it and learn something, I love talking about queerness and I’ll answer the best I can. and she just looked so nervous and in the end wound up refusing to ask for fear of causing offense. and it wasn’t just the group setting, I’ve known straight people to act similarly even when it’s just one on one

and just. you guys. this is what purity culture and the “if you don’t know something you were never a real ally in fact you’re a bigot in fact you’re worse than bigots because you pretended not to be one” attitude does. how can our allies be allies if they’re scared to talk to us? to ask questions, to make mistakes, to learn? can we please bring back the idea of “in good faith”? there’s way more to say here about identity politics and virtue signaling and acting like language is more important than action but I’m too tired for that right now

shut up shut up shut UP every single person in my 3rd grade friend group turned out to be queer (except for one, the token straight guy) and there were EIGHT of us. queer people find each other, even if they don’t know they’re queer.

being asexual is a really weird experience because most of the time you feel sort of normal, like there isn't even anything different about you, but then you're randomly hit with the realization that there is essentially an entire part of most people's regular everyday lives that you're missing out on. it doesn't make me sad or anything, it's actually kind of cool. it makes me feel like i'm some sort of spy who gets to analyze "normal human behaviour" without taking part in it. people are fascinating.

Severus Snape mindlessly doodles stuff when he’s bored or deep in thoughts.

Imagine some students getting their paper back with sketches of animals or flowers bcs he daydreamed in the middle of grading. Certain students asking him to start an art club. The older students just taking whatever he draws without thinking as a prophecy of sorts: “Cat, turtle, amaryllis— OH shit, McGonnagall will give us a quiz and it would be hard!”

The prophecy thing kinda sorta worked 30% of the time.
