The Afterlife Of The Party

Marie Sanglante has had a long and tiresome night...

Among the Paris' rich and famous within the club d'Excellence's party walls, the disgraced ballerina takes a moment to vent out her frustrations within a bathroom stall as the melancholy of the night washes over her. She is valued, she is adored, she is despised, yet all she craves is the false companionship, as bitter and flawed as it is.

And once her meltdown is done, once she's had her fill of the tears and the numbness a good cigarette can give her, all she'd have left to do is reset. Reload her last save point and pretend as though not a single thing off-kilter has occurred as she returns to the party. Such has been the way she's done things for ages, such is only natural to imagine her doing.

One can only imagine the trouble such carelessness and apathy for the flow of time and space can have in the way of consequences...

Hihi, I made this drawing of Marie a good while ago but didn't think to upload it until, well, now. For anyone interested in my gal, Marie is a famous, reality bending ballerina from Paris with the ability to save, pause, and reload files as though she were playing a game, allowing her to seemingly get everything perfect the first try, from saying the perfect thing to get someone on her side, to making her recitals look like pure perfection despite having only performed it that first time. This callus care for others and the world itself in general has resulted in her basically viewing the world as little more than a game of popularity, where someone is always looking to gain something from you, everything always goes the way she shall twist it and everything she does shall be perfect the first time to any outside observer. An empty desire to be seen and heard, despite nothing ever seeming capable to fill that void of loneliness she constantly has.

This will, inevitably, lead to her experiencing certain very specific problems in the SCP au where she will have no choice but to grow as a person, whether she likes it or not. Hope y'all enjoy! I had a lot of fun drawing this and it means a lot to me in general, seeing it turn out this nicely. I hope to use more of Marie soon!

It’s fusion week on RDL so I’ve been making things to join in on the fun! The first two are a fusion I designed between Haniel and Marie ( @lolatulips’s intern) named Brie and a fusion between Haniel and Mal named Digit (design and lineart by @pokeblog123, I just did the colors/Dw I got permission to post it 😅). Then we’ve got a couple drawings of those two, and lastly a couple drawings of fusion between Haniel and Dublar (designed by @mystorl) and Haniel and Carrie (designed by @c-underscore-rry)!

Fellow epileptics, I have some fantastic news for you. There’s an add-on that makes the internet safer for us. It’s called Epilepsy Blocker. The creator had me test it out, give feedback, he made adjustments, and it works great. It may even help those with migraine disorders that are triggered by the same thing that messes with those of use with photosensitive epilepsy (mine is a case of being absurdly sensitive).

This is the only add-on I’ve encountered made specifically for those of us with epilepsy. It’s not a well known add-on, but I hope to see that change.

Dear people living on your own for the first time:

Here’s some advice I wasn’t told from the myriad of posts before that I wish I’d been given before

Wash the OUTSIDE of your pots and pans as well as the cooking surface. I’ve had a few roommates now who have only cleaned the inside and I’ve had to replace a $150 set of cookware twice.

“its only one time, how bad could using metal on nonstick cookware really be?” very bad. don’t do this.

Buy a rice cooker. Buy the middle tier rice cooker. Cheap ones will burn your rice, high tier ones are too expensive. Rice is good and cheap and, really, you don’t actually have to wash it if you don’t care about making gourmet food.

Buy band-aids. You don’t think you need band-ads until you need a band-aid, and by then it’s too late. (if you don’t follow this advice, a paper towel and some tape is an acceptable solution while you go get real bandages and neosporin)

You are on tumblr, which means you probably spend most of your time in one spot on a computer or phone. if this spot doesn’t have a trash can in arm’s reach, put one there.

 I spent 4 years piling trash on my desk in increasingly precarious ways until I had a designated area to put it. Trash cans can and should go anywhere there is a frequent generation of trash, typical locations be damned.

If you live with one or two roommates, discuss placing empty boxes in the back of your fridge and freezer. You probably don’t need all the space that the standard 5-person-family fridge provides, and tupperware will be shoved back there and left to stink up the entire appliance.

Get a wall calendar, put it somewhere communal, and have everyone put their household-relevant schedules on it. Communication is by far the weakest link with roommates (even good ones!) and having something to reference for appointments is always good
