Love it ^^
my forever girl 💜🌙
zira from @kianamaiart’s i don’t want to be a magical girl!
bonus:
Disabled people shouldn't have to be perfectly nice or kind when we ask for accommodations and inclusion. We shouldn't HAVE to ask.
Furthermore, we usually ARE being nice when we ask; ableds just take any request that they do the bare minimum for us as if it's a great slight to their honor.
I love you irl conversations about plurality
I love you respectful curious singlets/questioning systems
I love you normalizing plurality
I mean not only did Oscar canonically choose to stop on his way to put his things in his locker just to watch Lando, gentle blush dusting his cheeks, he was especially fond because Lando and little kids is so natural, also because Oscar of all people knows Lando struggles with reading so maybe he even hovered for help??, and was so proud because Lando did so well??, and then mouthing “ignore me” and being lost in watching Lando, then simply having to speak and say something sweet, because Lando’s reading kind things about himself and Oscar simply has to chime in, because of course Lando lights up and his voice travels into that giddy happy register and they both just smile into each others faces The Way They Do because shared happiness is so easy for them and jfc we rly just saw Oscar wanting to stare at Lando lovingly while asking not to have his cover blown there is no predecessor for this they’re just inherently soft and sweet and bashful about each other fuck!!!!!
I love talking to kids about disability bc
1. they often just Get It, and
2. they have 0 concept of disability as a tragedy or something pitiable.
I've watched kids get into an argument with a teacher bc they thought wheelchairs were cool. I told a kid that I can't stand for too long sometimes and they replied, "That's okay, I can't do cartwheels sometimes, but I just do other stuff then. You can sit down with me if you want". Today a girl asked me what the headphones on a classmate's desk were for and I told her that headphones are important for some kids because noises bother them, and she said she wished she had headphones at home, because her baby brothers make a lot of noise and it makes it hard to think. The idea that different people could use tools at different times is intuitive and simple and when accessibility aids are explained neutrally, kids don't see them as bad or unfortunate, they're just things that are useful.
Even mental disability!! In Kindergarten the other day one of the kids asked me why his table partner got stickers when nobody else did. I started off by saying, "Well, when you do your work well, it feels good, right? That's your brain giving you a reward," and the kid just right away went, "Oh, and the stickers are like his reward?" YES! You are 5 and have a better grasp on ADHD than most adults! Kids blow me away every day.
all the f1 x gladiator drawings i've done so far
I just need to scream into the void for a solid, like, five seconds.
I’m so tired of taking medications all the time.
I’m so tired of everybody looking at me like I’m fragile even though I am.
I’m so tired of being sick and tired.
I know that accepting and embracing my chronic illnesses and disabilities has made me a stronger and more authentic version of myself but I want nothing more right now than to go back to the person I was before it got this bad.
And I also genuinely hate that I feel this way about myself.
I’m trying so hard to be nothing but a positive light and resource while advocating for the grief disabled people face while refusing to acknowledge my own.
And right now I just need to scream into the void that is my own tumblr page about how I’m exhausted about the fact that I’m visibly unwell.
That I’m INvisibly unwell.
That I am fighting for my life every second of every hour of every day.
And that this all started because I’m on my lunch break and had to take my meds.
“why do you still use tumblr?”
listen— i have to keep track of my hyper fixations somehow
can i add something. in my personal opinion the way people speak about eddie, the way people seem almost gleeful to accuse him of 'abusive behavior' or 'manipulation' or whatever else, is directly connected to the way they talk about ryan. and the way they don't talk about lfj. i've said it before but it's that casualness people exhibit while loudly and proudly accusing ryan of certain political and societal views, acting like their assumptions are an excuse for racism, WHILE twisting themselves into pretzels to excuse the behavior of their white fave who objectively has a whole portfolio of highly questionable behavior, both in his career, personal life and social media habits. it's just. a casual thing to do. it's like there's nothing wrong with it, it's normal. it's accepted. it's normal to find millions of excuses and explanations for the wildest shit when the man you're defending is white. but when he's not, god help him. the same goes for fictional characters. white guy does racial workplace harassment for fun? he's closeted, misunderstood, he's protecting himself even though he was quite literally meant to represent casual workplace bigotry. but when eddie diaz as much as waves a finger at buck? somebody call the cops, he's a danger to society, he needs to be medicated, he needs to be locked up, he's a piece of shit. it's not new, this attitude has existed in our fandom long before little racist tommy ever came back BUT tim bringing him back and trying to completely erase the context that he (and gerrard) were first introduced in has enabled a ton of fucked up behavior, too. and tim and whoever else keeping that pos hired made it worse. anyway.
Just to talk and enjoy my stuff. I have two side blogs ;) Read my pinned post ! Humans are fascinating
