Hey, here’s a concept. What if we stopped saying “but autistic people CAN do all those things” (erasing high support needs) and instead started saying “not being able to do those things doesn’t impact someone’s value as a person nor does it make it okay to commit eugenics”.
You know what the worst part of having a dissociative disorder is, for me personally?
The emotional amnesia.
Your entire life feels like something that you watched on TV, rather than something that you actually lived through.
You know that some of the most horrific things imaginable have happened to you, and you feel nothing about it. Sure, the memories disgust you on principle, but you don’t feel anything.
It makes you question if anything that you remember is real. If that actually happened, shouldn’t it feel significant? Shouldn’t you be sad, angry, hurt, something?
And to top it all off, nobody understands. Not even yourself.
Just saw an anti-endo calling endos ableists, then instantly using the r-slur. Genuinely pulling our hair out
This has the potential to become the most funny bit in season 8b
Maddie was so real when she asked Buck “Is it circled with a heart around it?” about Eddie’s calendar and him freaking out and complaining about Eddie hanging out with someone else that isn’t him and then later when he invites Chimney to the basketball game and Chimney realizes why and he tells Buck “So I’m your basketball beard. I feel so bonded.” like poor Madney suffering because Buck can’t seem to put two and two together now
pony being like "darry treats me like a little kid even though i am grown🙄" brother soda has to sleep in your bed because you have nightmares otherwise. they tickle you out of bed every morning. darry carried you to bed like a baby. you draw pictures of horses instead of doing your homework.
☆ can we normalize carrying toys / plushies in public? ☆
as an autistic person that struggles with social anxiety, taking my comfort plushies with me always helps me be more comfortable.
it's not wrong to have comfort items, and we shouldn't be shamed for carrying them around!
Still genuinely baffles me every time I remember that the average person isn’t in some form of pain all the time.
Like..not even a tiny bit???
It’s actually crazy to me every time I remember that most people actually don’t experience pain outside of injuries.
Just to talk and enjoy my stuff. I have two side blogs ;) Read my pinned post ! Humans are fascinating
