Having a traumatic childhood means you cannot talk even objectively about your basic foundational experiences without it being "venting", even if you're not actually venting. You just straight up have a huge chunk of your life you can't talk about, full stop, without it being trauma dumping.
And it not being socially acceptable to talk about your own childhood is super alienating. Sometimes people want to know why, and any answer you can give them is going to be off putting.
It's to the point I get irritated when something I said is framed as venting when I'm literally just talking about my life experiences, doing my best to keep emotion out of it.
anyone else ever wish they could lie down harder? Like, I'm already horizontal, but I need more horizontal. I need to be absorbed by the floor. I think that would fix me
Some people don’t want to hear this but sometimes accessibility is not sustainable or eco-friendly. Disabled people sometimes need straws, or pre-made meals in plastic containers, or single-use items. Just because you can work with your foods in their least processed and packaged form doesn’t mean everyone else can.
Love it ^^

bonus:
in general when it comes to online safety and systems its best to leave what is and isnt "safe" to share up the system doing the sharing instead of trying to apply a blanket "this is ok" and "this is DANGEROUS" because plurality is wildly personal and you really cant be doing blanket statements 75% of the time
I am here to ask for your support to complete my university education outside my city of Gaza after the Israeli occupation destroyed universities and colleges in the Gaza Strip and destroyed education facilities, youth support institutions and training spaces that aim to provide training for all disciplines and then provide job opportunities for young people, most of which were destroyed.
We used to have a beautiful life, despite the siege on Gaza and the wars on it. We used to have a house and now we live in a tent "displaced", we used to have dreams and we pursued them and still do, we used to go to the sea which is the only breathing space for the people of the Gaza Strip, we used to live peacefully despite all the siege. We here in Gaza have brilliant and innovative minds that learn medicine, technology, professional specialties, agriculture, industry, trade and all specialties, we just need someone to support us, appreciate what we do and motivate us to keep going.
October 7, 2023 is a date that I will never forget, we were displaced about 8 times and lived through terror and destruction and are still living it, we saw death with our own eyes and survived death several times, our features changed, we became young people instead of worrying about our future, we became tired of securing water and food for our family and carrying water from a distant place to the tent is very tiring, our bodies are tired of the weights we carry daily and the diseases that spread and we don't know what's next.
I decided to pay back my knowledge and the information I gained from study, search, and workshops by share it on social media. I will answer on everyone's questions, and make webinars as my teachers do with us.
These ideas will help educational community to grows.
My goal in launching my campaign is to raise funds to complete my university studies outside my city, to cover the costs of travel, housing, food, the costs of the university I will attend, and I am currently looking for a distinguished university in the field of graphic design. I asked my friends who attended universities in Europe to suggest some universities, and among my goals after studying is to provide a safe and stable place to live with my family.
I would be very grateful for your support for me and my educational journey.
push pop yo !!
I really don't think a lot of abled and low support needs disabled people realize how many of us rely on the kindness of others to stay alive. Imagine if your entire survival and existence was pinned to being likeable enough.
I wanted to share some etiquette for simplifying something down for someone with a cognitive/intellectual disability
you are simplifying the information down, not sharing your opinion
if I ask for a news article to be simplified down and you tell me "they're doing fascist things" that's unhelpful. I want to know what they're doing not what you think about what they're doing.
you should be objective with it
if an article is talking about, say, a new proposed bill in Congress an example of an appropriate way to summarize would be:
"this is what the bill is proposing
this is how the article says it will affect people
this is what the author thinks about it"
and then you can start talking about your opinion
we have a right to form our own opinions about information. if the only thing you share is your opinion you're denying us that right. when simplifying language you are a translator. think of yourself as a translator.
Pretty pretty please, with parmesan on top!
Made a little fanart of Aika from I don't want to be a magical girl while procrastinating at school

It's honestly quite frustrating that technical books - both medical and philosophical - on plurality cost so much damn money. Sure, if you're a psychiatrist you'll be able to afford to read up on historical literature concerning DID, for example, but if you're just a system trying to read up on the history of how plurality was understood in the pre-internet era, you better be fucking rich or you're shit out of luck.
if you didn’t realize, ableism is actually bigotry and systemic ableism and inaccessibility are really oppression and it’s not something disabled people brought on ourselves by having bodies&minds that you think are inferior and therefore not worth fighting for. disabled people’s lives and wellbeing matter. we don’t have to earn our worthiness by doing “enough” to deserve a good life. nobody does.
This has the potential to become the most funny bit in season 8b
Maddie was so real when she asked Buck “Is it circled with a heart around it?” about Eddie’s calendar and him freaking out and complaining about Eddie hanging out with someone else that isn’t him and then later when he invites Chimney to the basketball game and Chimney realizes why and he tells Buck “So I’m your basketball beard. I feel so bonded.” like poor Madney suffering because Buck can’t seem to put two and two together now

one time when I was a barista I was telling my coworker that I suddenly really missed cows. I used to work with cows all the time back home and then I moved away and suddenly it had been four years and nary a cow.
15 minutes later this old guy came up to the counter with his address written on a napkin & he said “me and my wife have a whole herd of dexters and a couple of new calves. come on over any time”
so after work I was like ok fuck it & I drove to the address and I parked at at the gate & I walked down the driveway to the barn and this woman was like “oh my husband told me you might stop by! come see our cows” and she introduced me to every single cow. made my whole week.
thank you cow couple
