I can definitely see myself as a mixture of both Hotch and Garcia! As a curvy blonde, I look a little like Garcia, but as a shy/introverted person who takes a while to warm up to/trust people and definitely likes to draw a line between being friends and professionalism at work ( as a nanny, the parents are always Mr and Mrs X, never first names and always the formal you form, even if they say I can use either/both and no matter how well I get on with them/like them! I also adore ( musical) theatre, cooking/baking and am good with kids. My main love languages ( that I display for others) are touch, words of affirmation and gifts, so again, a great blend of my two favourite characters in the show!
đșÂ and cast your mutuals as (i have always wanted to do this)

đșÂ and cast your mutuals as (i have always wanted to do this)
I was honestly wishing for someone to send this because I had it all planned it, and I just really wanted someone to ask! Each person has been cast as the ship, because in my opinion, if they had a child, it would be this person :)
I also do not ship every single one of these...
@whump-town as Hotchniss (obviously)
@olivinesea as Jelle (that is a compliment by the way)
@electricsockhead as Moreid (I mean... would you be anyone else?)
@ellyhotchner as Hotch/Beth (my babies deserved a child together, that kid would've been GREAT!)
@willlemonheadsupremacy as Willifer (one of my many faves!)
@anastasiahotchner as Maeve/Reid (smart, books, you know, it fits!)
@bus-kids as Spemily (but like, Reid is just the sperm donor they're not romantically involved!!!)
@lumosemily as Morcia (positivity!! sticking up for the people you love!!)
@hotchgan as Mortch (obviously)
@temily as Temily (obviously)
@infinite-tides as Hotchley (who also deserved a daughter and better)
@kamiamaya as Hotch/Rossi (once again, also obviously)
@transpenelope as Hotch/Madam Bouvier (chaos)
@louisaland as Gotch (perfect blend of positivity and love and don't you dare mess with the people I care about)
That's all the ones I can think of that match somebody...

Iâve been thinking about getting Penelope and Hotch together sooner, rather than post Season 15.
I figure, in Season 5, she convinces him to go to therapy/grief counselling sessions ( obviously not the one she runs), and one day, they finish at the same time, and end up going for coffee/a meal/ to one of their places to cook for both of them. They subsequently spend more and more time together and eventually get together around JJ and Willâs wedding ( sorry to any Beth fans, but sheâs out of the picture!), as they go as friends, Penelope having just broken up with Kevin. Sometime after Route 66, Aaron proposes ( Haley shows him lots of little moments of him and Penelope/her and Jack/the three of them spending time together, and she is obviously there when he wakes up, but he asks her later-I have a super romantic proposal planned out!) and they have the triplets around the same time JJ has Michael ( S 10, if I recall correctly).
The show would end when Season 11 finishes, except the unsub ( Mr Scratch?) has successfully been captured and stays in prison/is executed. Rossi could remarry Hadyn in Season 10/11, thereâs no appalling prison arc for Reid, no Linda Barnes, Hotch doesnât leave, and most characters are fulfilled/happy at that point.
Hotch ends up being offered an early retirement package and then everything happens as I explained in my earlier post.Â
I have tried to keep it as different as possible from A Joyful Future ( @winterscaptain âs amazing fic) and anything else I have seen with a Reader insert/a romantic relationship between two BAU-ers. If there are similarities/elements I have unknowingly stolen, please let me know, and I will fix it! I might expand on some scenes on the show and change a few details here and there from certain episodes, but donât plan on fully re-writing any.
Because @hotchley has just celebrated a birthday, I thought it was the perfect time to post this! I have taken inspiration from several writers @themetaphorgirl from her PSOLC series for the tripletsâ nicknames and Spencer not being able to master pronunciation of foreign languages, @hotchley or someone else I think came up with the strawberry allergy and any similarities to @winterscaptain a joyful future series are accidental ( and can be changed if needed).Â
Birthday
Hotch yawned, stretched and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. Rolling over, he found his wifeâs side of the bed empty but still warm.
As he awoke, he tuned in to the sounds of chatter, laughter, giggling and cupboards and drawers being opened and closed that carried up the stairs from the kitchen.
« Mama! We have to put chocolate chips in! They are Dadaâs favourite! » Scarlett ordered loudly. «  Oh, and strawberries too, of course! », she added.
Hotch had come to expect nothing less of his Type A, opinionated four year-old daughter who would quite likely be running the country someday.
« Maybe we could put banana in instead, Lettie? », Stella suggested, looking for middle ground and a way to keep everyone happy.
«  No, not stwawbewwies! Dadaâs super âllergic, âmember! We donât want him to have to go to hostipal, not on his biwfday! » Theo piped up, sounding worried. Hotch could picture his son pushing his floppy blonde hair out of his eyes and biting his lip.
â If you three donât quiet down, youâll wake your Dada up!â, his wife reprimanded his three youngest gently. â And definitely no strawberries in the pancakes, Scarlett. We do not want a repeat of the 4th of July picnic, thank you very much.â, she added.
âYeah, hard pass on that one! And we all know that Dadâs a grumpy bear before heâs had his morning coffeeâ, his eldest added.
It was enough of a birthday gift to have his eldest home from college, though he wasnât far away, between his studies, his long distance girlfriend and enjoying life, visits home were not as frequent as he would have liked.
âWho wants to help me make coffee? Unless youâve already made some, Penny?â, he questioned his stepmother, attempting to keep at least one of his siblings from making too much mess.
â Not yet, sweetheart, Iâm still on my herbal tea health kick, but you go right ahead. Stella, you go and help Jack, OK?â, she replied.
âYes, Mama!â, Stella replied.
Hotch could picture her grabbing Jackâs hand and could hear them move her step-stool over to the proper area of the counter.
âWe need, coffee beans, water in the jug, a mug, a spoon and a⊠filter, right, Jack-Jack?â, she enumerated.
If anyone became followed in his footsteps and became a profiler, it would be her, Hotch mused, as her attention to detail was second to none and her memory could rival Reidâs one day.
His thoughts were interrupted by a blur of short, dark, wavy hair flinging itself at him. The owner of the hair looked up at him, frowning slightly.
âUh, Dada, you should be sleeping! But youâre awake, so you can read me books, right?â Scarlett declared. âHappy birthday, by the way!â, she added, rushing out of the room before he could answer, then dashed back with an armful of books.
Hotch proceeded to read all about Peppaâs adventures with her brother George and the well-meaning but pretty incompetent Daddy Pig.
While they were in the middle of yet another story about Peppa being bossy, Stella knocked on the door, waiting to be told it was OK to come in. Hotch nodded and gestured to her to join him on the bed. She entered, with Penelope following behind, wearing her purple silk pyjamas, matching robe and co-ordinated glasses. Her hair was pulled back in a simple braid, but she looked beautiful. She was bearing the special breakfast tray, which had a plate of pancakes on it ( thankfully strawberry-free), a glass of juice, a mug of coffee that bore the inscription that the drinker was the worldâs best father, a vase with a small sunflower in it, plus all the cards that his children and his wife had made or bought him. Jack arrived a moment later, carrying Theo.
Penelope settled the tray in front of him, deftly scooping Scarlett up and out of the way before kissing him and positioning herself next to him, then placing Scarlett in her lap. Stella cautiously reached out from his other side to put her arms around his neck and give him a gentle kiss.
âJoyeux anniversaire, papa chĂ©ri! Bon appĂ©tit!â, she whispered excitedly. â Auntie Emily helped me learn it, it means happy birthday, darling daddy. And bon appĂ©tit means bon appĂ©tit, of course!â, she explained eagerly.
âWhy thank you, principessaâ, Hotch replied, using the nickname that Rossi had chosen when Stella was born. â Howâs my Italian accent? Is it better than Uncle Spencerâs?â he asked, smiling at his clever daughter.
Stella just smiled and nodded, twirling one of her long brown curls around her finger, ever tactful about his former colleagueâs ability to actually speak foreign languages that he could read and understand perfectly.
Meanwhile, his boys had settled by his feet.
âHappy birthday, old man!â, teased his eldest, grinning cheekily.
âJack Thomas Hotchner! Donât call people old, itâs wude! Happy biwfday, super young Dada!âTheo countered indignantly. â Oh, and careful with the coffee, itâs hot!â, he added, brown eyes wide with concern as his father lifted the mug to his lips.
âThanks for the compliment and the heads-up, buddyâ, he replied, smiling at his childrenâs antics.
Once he had finished his delicious breakfast and the tray had been safely placed on the nightstand, out of the way, he began opening his cards. Scarlett got bored and burrowed under the covers, while Theo, still sitting near the end of the bed with Jack, had wrapped himself in the throw that was there, wearing it like a hooded cape.
âOooh, present time now, Aaron!â his wife declared cheerfully.
âOh look, I think you have some gifts already, as those strange lumps werenât in our bed this morning!â she added, indicating the spots where Scarlett was hiding and Theo was sitting.
âAh yes, bed lumps, just what I always wanted!â Hotch declared, prodding and tickling the bulge closest to him as his wife went to get the undoubtedly enormous stash of presents she had purchased for him.
The strange comforter-covered gift let out a giggle and poked out its head.
â Am I a good surprise, Dada?â, she enquired.
âYes, passerotta, youâre always a great surprise!â he replied.
â Now, how about that lump thatâs growing next to Jack, hmm?â he announced to the room.
He patted it gently and the fleecy dome wriggled, dislodging the blanket.
âOh, a Theodore Atticus Morgan Hotchner, what a lovely surprise!â, he declared, which made Theo smile widely, activating the dimples that all of his siblings had inherited from him.
â I fink Mama has some weally weally good pwopew pwesents fow you tooâ he added, regaining his usual quiet and serious tone.
As if on cue, Penelope returned, arms laden with beribboned gift bags and several deftly wrapped boxes. Every year she outdid herself, and, by now, he was starting to get used to being thoroughly spoiled, hugged, kissed and made a fuss of all day.
That one scene in 10x5 where Hotch goes to get the Darth Vadar helmet for Jack from Garciaâs friend and Garciaâs friend (Madam Bouvier) hitting on Hotch always makes me cackle. Madam Bouvier calling Hotch âchildâ and the âmmhm G-manâ, Hotchâs nervousness and blushing when he realizes Madam Bouvierâs intentions. That whole scene was đ *chefs kiss*.
Iâd just like to know what Garcia said to Madam Bouvier beforehand. The way that you kind of warn your friends about meeting your other friends. At first, Madam Bouvier being like âhe an asshole? Do you need me to teach him a lesson, baby? Does he treat you dirty? I know how bossâ can be--â
and Garciaâs like âno, no, not like that!â and going into this really long and weird warning because Hotch is attractive (which is a weird thought now that sheâs considering it) and heâs kind of cranky sometimes but also painfully shy so Garcia is just trying to tell her that Hotch might be a little shy and not to take it personally.
so imagine Madam Bouvierâs surprise when SSA Big Dick Aaron Hotchner walks in?? All cute and albeit shy but a handsome gentleman. You know Garcia got a call about that

1) liaison jj, as her role was more unique, she was on-screen less but more interesting as a character. She was always quite vocal that she didnât want to be a profiler, it seemed to come out of nowhere. If sheâd shown interest in the run-up ( looking over how to write a profile, asking her team to test her on x/y/z , reading up on it/studying for one of the tests...)I might have found it more believable.
2) profiler emily, as politics were never her thing early on, and I thought she was a great addition to the team. Again, if weâd seen her opinion shift and had her try it before, it would have felt more organic!
3) casual morgan feels truer to his character, as heâs always ready to jump into action-it must be so constrictive to have to wear a suit when youâre kicking down doors/ running after unsubs!
4) hotch in suits. I am a sucker for a classically handsome man in a suit, and the whole put together, show no emotion façade he puts up goes perfectly well with his immaculate suit and perfectly tied tie! Itâs close though, as I do love him in casual wear too!
5) hotch without a beard, though itâs close. I normally prefer men clean-shaven, but he rocks the beard!
6) Reid without glasses, I like that it doesnât perpetuate the stereotypical nerd trope!
7) Reid with short hair. It looks best when Hotch asks him if he joined a boyband, hee!
8) Penelope with blonde hair, by, no pun intended, a hair! As a blonde, I preferred when our hair colours matched! Ironically, I think she looks best as a redhead posing as a blonde in Reflections of Desire, when she has to do a videoed press conference-total Marilyn Monroe off-set vibes!
9) Morgan as unit chief! He did such a great job and could definitely have continued if Hotch had stepped down and taken the 9-5 desk job!
10) I like both for different reasons. Both super smart, but in very different ways, and extremely different personalities. For the language connection and her lovely relationship with Spencer, Iâll say Blake, if I really have to choose!
11) Havenât seen past Season 11, and the little glimpse I got of Mike wasnât really enough to pass judgement on him. Luke seems very sweet though, and he ends up with Penelope, and if she likes him that much, I should go for him!
12) early seasons, until about 7/8, when the cliffhangers stopped being so good. The first 4/5 seasons have brilliant finales, I have no idea how anyone who watched when they aired on TV coped until the next season started, as they were total cliff-hangers, with 4 being the best!
13) Foyet arc, as cannot actually bring myself to fully watch all the Scratch eps, just too bloody terrifying. The Foyet arc was so long, with so many little clues, and the reveal about who Foyet actually is made me gasp/get shivers down my spine!Â
14) Both, for different reasons! The end of Season 1 had me ordering the Season 2 DVDs immediately, as I only bought Season 1 to see if I got on with the show! Season 7 was a lovely ensemble moment, showcasing the teamâs closeness and it just makes me so happy!Â
15) Emily, as we got more insight into her character, but, if Elle had stayed, I think she would have grown on me- I didnât like or relate to her much in Season 1, but liked her arc at the end. They were both tough, take no crap ladies who could be funny. I think Emily also got on better with Penelope/JJ/the other female profilers ( training Todd, great relationship with Tara...).
16) Both interesting characters with their own flaws and merits. Long-term, Seaver would have bern more interesting, and she seemed to gel with the team more, hanging out with Penelope, Morgan and Reid at least once outside of work hours.Â
17) Tank top Emily, especially the red one! JJâs style is preppier, with the shirts, and she looks so beautiful in those light blue shirts she often wore!
18) Hotch in a suit. Matches so well with his personality and makes him even more attractive!
19) Lauren, as have not seen the Spencer episode, as I think itâs post Season 11, with the prison arc. I did however really enjoy the Riley Jenkins episodes, which are pretty Reid-centric!
20) Season 1 Hotch and Haley are so sweet as new parents, and when Hotch is at home they have some adorable moments together that made me squee. However, once Hotch is a single dad, I loved Beth and their relationship. She was really confident, funny, had a great job and would have made a fantastic new partner for Hotch, had she stayed. We only really got to see the bad side of Hotch and Haley after the first season.Â

Just planning out my Gotcha! post-S15 fic series and decided I wanted to write a little blurb for each character: job, location, and, if they have any more children, said childrenâs names. I have decided that Alex and James Blake foster/adopt some children, and I was really struggling to find a boy name, until I thought âLuke! Luke is a great name! No-one else on the show canonically has that na⊠Oh whoops, except Luke Alvez!â . In my defence, I havenât seen anything past Season 11! I then decided on Matthew instead, again forgetting about Matt Simmons and also gave two baby girls the name Charlotte and realised Iâd given two characters the same name, one as middle and one as first, but still! I obviously do not have much imagination and am evidently very attached to  certain names!Â
