SVU dream

I had an SVU related dream last night!

It was really fun, I was invited to a big party at the senior Carisi house, either for baby Nicky’s christening and/or the big wedding celebration. My parents were also there, and told me to go and put my gifts on the gift table.

After doing that, I chatted to Serafina and Dominick Sr, they were so lovely, just like one of my sisters’ Italian parents-in-law. Dominick Sr gave me a big hug and Serafina called me “bellissima” ( very beautiful). I think I must have been a childhood friend of Sonny’s in my dream, as I really wanted to see and catch up with him!

Then I ended up holding baby Nicky ( he was very cute and cuddly) and had a chat with Chris Meloni ( 100% the actor and not in the role of Elliot Stabler). He complimented my childcare skills, and I told him how I thought Elliot was such a good dad on the show and asked him if he’d already had his kids by the time he started on the show. I also asked him if he and Isabel Gillies ( who played Kathy) had had any say in who got cast as their kids as they all realistically looked like they were a product of the two actors actually procreating. I can’t remember his answers, but he said he has a very close bond with the young man who plays Dickie ( and has done so since the pilot!). I work in childcare so we talked about raising kids, education, and, at one point, he took baby Nicky from me and was very cute.

Maybe I just felt like we should have got a proper big wedding for Carisi and Rollins, with the girls being flower girls, maybe Fin as best man and lots of good food, moving speeches and a first dance. And we never saw Amanda’s pregnancy with Nicky or his christening so my brain just created it and put me there too.

Well into Season 3 of Downton Abbey! Mary and Edith have stopped being witches with b’s to eachother. Love Matthew looking out for Tom and saying they have to stick together against their fiery wives was very sweet. I know how it all ends with Edith and Anthony Strallan, which sucks, but am waiting impatiently for Mary and Matthew’s wedding!

More SVU Season 23 thoughts

The disclosure episode for Rollins and Carisi was amazing. Both their fears/viewpoints were valid, and they are both invested in the relationship and clearly love each other a lot. It was cool to have them have the conversations in the same place, and I love that Amanda puts her hand on his chest before kissing him, mirroring their first kiss. Yay! Squee! I love them together, Your Honour!

Her calling him Counsellor is already becoming a thing, it’s sooooo cute!

Jesse was adorable, asking him if he’s Billie’s daddy. Maybe she was asking  a little bit for herself too, as we know that Declan has had no contact with her since before she was born, so Carisi is her main male father figure, as he is for Billie.

When they go undercover as a married couple, I wanted so much more of that, they were so cute!

Very weird to hear Mia calling Carisi Uncle Dom and not Uncle Sonny. Her “Finally!” when Amanda came for dinner at the Carisi household was lovely, and Amanda’s jubilation that Mrs Carisi likes her ( obviously she does, she makes her beloved son extremely happy and is awesome) was so sweet.

I’d have loved to have seen Dominick Carisi Sr, but I think what we hear from Carisi’s phone call with him is that he is a pretty great guy/dad as he tells his son he loves him as Carisi says “I love you too” at the end of their chat, is patient when Carisi has to field another call, goes to fix stuff that isn’t working at his daughter’s place, and he raised Carisi to be a great guy.

Is it just me or does the actor playing Velasco look wildly different, maybe even unrecognisable from episode to episode? Sometimes he’s clean shaven, the next he has a beard, then he has stubble. That might just be because episodes are filmed out of order.  He’s not bad, but I am not very invested in him as a character.

It was nice to get a bonus episode, which was the crossover with OC where Eli steals his grandmother’s medication and runs away to Jersey. It was great to finally be able to watch it in English. It’s definitely an emotional one!

The trial for Richard Wheatley was so tense! I am sure I saw Eli there at first, but he was absent by the time his dad took the stand. Eli looked very uncomfortable, covering his ears and looking down, so maybe he went home after a bit, when he realised he couldn’t cope with it emotionally.

It was great to see Carisi in action, I thought he did a fantastic job .

I was prepared to hate the new judge/chief legal person but then realised she wasn’t all bad, and she’s really helped Carisi come into his own.

The episodes are pretty good, I am enjoying them a lot.

The one with Burton Lowe was incredible! I could tell from the Season 1 episode ( Wanderlust)  that she’d been groomed ( and I thought her retelling of the relationship didn’t mesh with what we knew about her character so far). When Liv realises that he is a serial groomer and she was one of his victims, then left his hotel room, I cheered. I loved seeing all the flashbacks with Elliot, that was so nostalgic. It was a really powerful episode. It was also an interesting choice to have Nick Amaro come back, he was 100% correct in what he said to Olivia, it shows just how much he cares about her.

I like that the show is moving with the times, regarding technology and the jobs involved with that.

100 Reasons NOT To Kill Yourself

1. We would miss you. 2. It’s not worth the regret. Either by yourself if you failed or just simply left scars, or the regret everyone else feels by not doing enough to help you. 3. It does get better. Believe it or not it will eventually get better. Sometimes you have to go through the storm to get to the rainbow. 4. There’s so much you would miss out on doing. 5. There is always a reason to live. It might not be clear right now, but it is always there. 6. So many people care, and it would hurt them if you hurt yourself. 7. You ARE worth it. Don’t let anyone, especially yourself, tell you otherwise. 8. You are amazing. 9. A time will come, once you’ve battled the toughest times of your life and are in ease once again, where you will be so glad that you decided to keep on living. You will emerge stronger from this all, and won’t regret your choice to carry on with life. Because things always get better. 10. What about all the things you’ve always wanted to do? What about the things you’ve planned, but never got around to doing? You can’t do them when you’re dead. 11. I love you. Even if only one person loves you, that’s still a reason to stay alive. 12. You won’t be able to listen to music if you die. 13. Killing yourself is never worth it. You’ll hurt both yourself and all the people you care about. 14. There are so many people that would miss you, including me. 15. You’re preventing a future generation, YOUR KIDS, from even being born. 16. How do you think your family would feel? Would it improve their lives if you died? 17. You’re gorgeous, amazing, and to someone you are perfect. 18. Think about your favourite music artist, you’ll never hear their voice again… 19. You’ll never have the feeling of walking into a warm building on a cold day 20. Listening to incredibly loud music 21. Being alive is just really good. 22. Not being alive is really bad. 23. Finding your soulmate. 24. Red pandas 25. Going to diners at three in the morning. 26. Really soft pillows. 27. Eating pizza in New York City. 28. Proving people wrong with your success. 29. Watching the jerks that doubted you fail at life. 30. Seeing someone trip over a garbage can. 31. Being able to help other people. 32. Bonfires. 33. Sitting on rooftops. 34. Seeing every single country in the world. 35. Going on roadtrips. 36. You might win the lottery someday. 37. Listening to music on a record player. 38. Going to the top of the Eiffel Tower. 39. Think about the feeling of laughing out loud in a public place because your best friend has just sent you an inside joke, 52. Your survival will make the world better, even if it’s for just one person or 20 or 100 or more. 53. People do care. 54. Treehouses 55. Hanging out with your soul mate in a treehouse 55. Snorting when you laugh and not caring who sees 56. I don’t even know you and I love you. 57. I don’t even know you and I care about you. 58. Lying on grass and laughing at the clouds. 86. Getting completely smashed with your best friends. 87. Eating crazy food. 88. Staying up all night watching your favourite films with a loved one. 89. Sleeping in all day. 90. Creating something you’re proud of. 91. You can look back on yourself 70 years later and being proud you didn’t commit 92. Being able to meet your Internet friends. 93. Tea / Coffee / Hot Chocolate 94. Sherlock season three. 95. Cuddling under the stars. 96. Being stupid in public because you just can. 97. If you are reading this then you are alive! Is there any more reason to smile? 98. being able to hug that one person you havent seen in years 99. People care enough about you and your future to come up with 100 reasons for you not to do this. 100. But, the final and most important one is, just, being able to experience life. Because even if your life doesn’t seem so great right now, literally anything could happen

Some more thoughts on Season 16 of Law and Order SVU.

I miss Munch, particularly his snarky exchanges with Fin, which brought some levity to the darker episodes. Those two together were comedy gold and such a great partnership.

I’ve enjoyed seeing Carisi working with Rollins, he is v respectful of her and lets her take the lead, and offers to work with her quite a few times, and openly admits to her that he still has a lot to learn about the job.

It is refreshing to see a team where everyone works well together, as Fin complained whenever he was paired with Stabler, and I think Stabler was a bit annoyed at being paired with Munch a few times too.

Loved seeing Barba as a son and grandson, actually getting emotional, as, up until that point, I had found him a bit cold/robotic.

The way he held Noah was hysterical as well, like he was holding a bag of toxic waste! Should have called Stabler or Carisi instead, Liv!

Adored meeting Bella, Carisi’s sister. I liked how non-judgemental he was about her maybe not keeping her baby as he didn’t say anything but was just quietly supportive. Stabler would have been more vocal in his Catholic views, I believe,

Sonny’s anger is always so righteous but I feel he is always in control of it, so even though he was rough with Tommy, he didn’t go too far and beat him to a pulp/hit him.

He also has a lot of empathy for the victims and their families, just like Olivia does, and he connects with people very easily, like with the lawyer daughter in the Marcia Cross episode where her character is married to a writer with ailing health.

I love that he’s told his family about Olivia is awesome and that he loves his job and working for her, that was a sweet moment!

Also, good job to the casting directors for the actress who plays Bella, she and Peter Scanavino look like they could actually be siblings!

He also did an awesome job being undercover, and looked super hot with the gelled back hair and the glasses.

The episode with Amaro’s dad reminded me a lot of Stabler and his equally awful childhood. They are both really hot-headed and internalise everything until they take it out on their lockers. At least Amaro is going to Anger Management classes!

I liked seeing Amaro with his ex’s boy, who he considers to be his son. He is also a good dad to his daughter, so that has made me warm to him a little more, though I still don’t miss him if he’s not there!

Just finished watching the serial killer who is a doctor who has committed crimes in Chicago, New York and elsewhere. He was terrifying in the courtroom scene, loved seeing Coroner Warner, she’s so great and one of my favourite minor characters.

I now want to rewatch the ep he is in from somewhere between Season 5-8, as the passing of time on this show is Very Wonky ™!

I am approaching the end of the Season, I think I will be getting Seasons 17 to present day too, even if they are in French and I have to deal with names being mispronounced ( Ezzer for Heather was particularly bad!).

I also googled the William Lewis scenario and it seems like I bypassed it and there is zero chance he will ever come back, as K could barely cope with reading about it let alone watch it!

Last song: the Barbie soundtrack, when I saw the film at the cinema

Favourite colour: I love most colours except hot/bright pinks. So I’ll go for rainbow 🌈

Currently watching: Magpie Murders, based on the Anthony Horowitz novel, lots of nerdy quiz shows, and I have the latest season (12?) of Call the Midwife and Season 16 of Criminal Minds:Evolution to start when I get home. May have a Criminal Minds rewatch before starting that though.

Last movie: Barbie, which I loved, bar the last few minutes, where it ruined the message completely. Loved the visuals for Barbie Land, the narration, the songs…

Currently reading: The Inheritance Games and re-reading Magpie Murders

Sweet/spicy/savoury: usually sweet, but sometimes get salty cravings. I am a big spice wimp

Relationship status: chronically single

Current obsession: swimming and nerdy quiz shows

Last thing I googled: the new ( to me, at least) Pret à Manger cold chocolate drink

Currently working on: planning out a missing episode from Season 4 of Criminal Minds where Hotch’s eardrum bursts and he has to stay behind with Penelope. Bonding ensues and it is a much better experience than Gideon’s time with her.

9 people you'd like to get to know better ♡

i can always count on @olivinesea to fulfil my desire to talk too much about myself in tumblr asks like this. thanks pal!!

last song: Lies from the Chasing Lights album by The Saturdays, in a moment of nostalgia for British girl bands that i liked in university (which as it turns out was only The Saturdays lol)

favourite colour: i tell kids my favourite colour is rainbow because i generally like all of them. it’s easier to tell you that i’m not fond of most shades of orange.

currently watching: Six Feet Under by myself, The Wire and VEEP with my husband, Recess over Sunday morning coffee & bagels, The X-Files with a friend. very soon starting a rewatch of Gilmore Girls, for the fall vibes. i watch too much tv, perhaps.

last movie: Barbie in theatres (i love how much Barbie cries). Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. at home (like meeting a pen pal in person for the first time)

currently reading: Cosmoknights vol 2, a large variety of picture books for work, and Judy Blume (so many i haven’t read before!)

sweet/spicy/savoury: savoury, for that salty umami goodness

relationship status: not to be gross on your dash, but i’ve been with my best friend and favourite person for ten years and it is friggin great.

current obsession: overwhelmingly human (English) names for pets. one of my kid friends from work (my job is great) told me their turtle is named Vanessa.

last thing i googled: a Black Russian, to confirm that it is indeed a drink.

currently working on: oh, i always get inspired by songs, so i have loads of drafts that are just song lyrics with the phrase “this is about [these people], figure it out!!!” but one of those drafts is shaping itself into a pretty angsty hotchniss mess, as per usual. maybe no satisfying happy ending, either.

ahhh, to tag or not to tag, the anxiety-inducing question. please feel no pressure to do these, but i tag @sequinsmile-x @danadeservesadrink @louisaland @scorpsik @beebeelank @bevfank @storiesofsvu and anyone who sees this and wants to answer them (tag me so i can read them if you do!)

That one scene in 10x5 where Hotch goes to get the Darth Vadar helmet for Jack from Garcia’s friend and Garcia’s friend (Madam Bouvier) hitting on Hotch always makes me cackle. Madam Bouvier calling Hotch “child” and the “mmhm G-man”, Hotch’s nervousness and blushing when he realizes Madam Bouvier’s intentions. That whole scene was 👌 *chefs kiss*.

I’d just like to know what Garcia said to Madam Bouvier beforehand. The way that you kind of warn your friends about meeting your other friends. At first, Madam Bouvier being like “he an asshole? Do you need me to teach him a lesson, baby? Does he treat you dirty? I know how boss’ can be--”

and Garcia’s like “no, no, not like that!” and going into this really long and weird warning because Hotch is attractive (which is a weird thought now that she’s considering it) and he’s kind of cranky sometimes but also painfully shy so Garcia is just trying to tell her that Hotch might be a little shy and not to take it personally.

so imagine Madam Bouvier’s surprise when SSA Big Dick Aaron Hotchner walks in?? All cute and albeit shy but a handsome gentleman. You know Garcia got a call about that
