It's been talked about to death and back but. JSchlatt joining the DSMP, only ever logging on for lore purposes, playing a fan fucking tastic villain that was an absolute joy to watch on screen, equal parts menacing/intimidating and goofy, completely stealing the show and perfectly matching the silly-but-serious energy of the lore up to that point, doing that for 1 season that I still think is one of the most impossibly coherent and thematically powerful pieces of roleplay media to date, and then having his character die after he'd run his course and never logging on again. was completely fucking legendary. He knew exactly what he needed to do and he did it flawlessly then left.

Well, I can certainly speak German so this was a breeze.

First, I tried to do a frequency analysis, but then, I recognized these symbols as runes, making this process useless. I pulled up a table of the runes and their names and started writing the rune names over every rune.

Using the first letter of each name, I got 'Guten' and upon continuing this with the other words, I got the following German text: (some letters have been modified to make it readable and make it make sense)

My guess is that 'Alteresfutark' is the old language or alphabet which was used to encrypt this (alt means old, like 'Altgriechisch' is the old greek language).

I don't really have any idea what the sentence in the middle could be, it definitely bears some resemblance to German, but isn't quite similar enough to any other words for me to connect it. Perhaps it's a Skandinavian language or a German dialect I do not know.

And dear Loki, Versuch nächstes Mal eine sicherere Verschlüsselung zu wählen. Das, was am längsten gedauert hat war, alles wieder zu übersetzen :D

Those are many questions for one ask. I am working on a case, but I couldn't solve it yet. It's irritating. I'm waiting for more information about the case from the police and the labs. It's tedious, I've a case but I'm bored with waiting.

just a warning, this is the longest post i've ever made

so in the last secret video there were some typos in the captions of the video.

it turns out when you put all these typos together it makes a link to a discord server. the server is completely empty... except for a download to another minecraft world!!!

this map is MUCH bigger than the last one. this image shows all of it. it has a bit of parkour up to a lot of very colourful blocks, with a portal-looking thing at the end made out of spruce logs. and again, all in the void.

also, did you notice the armour stands in the world? there are pressure plates next to them, and when you press them some messages pop up.

all the messages are:

"you've left! you've actually done it!"

"it's so beautiful out here! look at all the colours!"

"it's all ok! you haven't hurt anyone, we'll all be fine!"

"you aren't a bad person!"

"you didn't kill me, not really! once i'm reborn, my mind will be reset, and my memories forgotten!"

"i'm not dead, i'll just be spawned in another dimension!"

...but did you think that was it? nope, this is the longest post i've ever had to make for a reason.

there's also some secret messages in the form of command blocks hidden in the rainbow blocks.

once you get to the portal, there's line of barrier blocks that eventually lead to a big line of spruce forest, and you can run through the forest to get more messages.

"you did hurt them, but you can change."

Decrypting the morse code in the new QSMP teaser (a detailed explanation)

Quackity's new teaser for QSMP 2 (or something??) contained a long sequence of morse code which I... spent like 6 hours decrypting, and this is an explanation of how I did it (and you can, too, shall you wish to!)

I also posted a shorter analysis on my blog where I looked at all the different aspects of the video (the spoken words, the words flashing on the screen AND the morse code) in case you wanna learn more about the video in general.

The only program I used for this was audacity, which is free and which you can download quite easily.

Getting the audio ready

First, I recorded the audio by playing the video in one tab and recording it via Audacity in another using a tutorial here. Before that, I tried to use VLC, but it has a bug that makes it so it will only record the video and not the audio. Still, useful if you only want the video!

After I had the audio of the whole video, I needed to extract the morse code since in some sequences, it would be literally impossible (at least for me, dunno about you superhuman) to understand the morse code due to all the background noise. To do this, I first looked at a sequence where there was ONLY the morse code and nothing else and analyzed the spectrum of this.

This 'spectrum' is essentially just a graph of how much sound of a certain frequency (measured in Hz) is in a certain snippet that I selected.

The top is the frequency of the morse code, so the plan is to keep this frequency (469 Hz) and throw everything else out.

In order to do this, I used the menus which you can find in audacity under 'effects -> Dominic Mazzoni,' reduced the volume of everything above 480 Hz by 48 Db (there is an option for how much you want to reduce it, but seeing as we don't need it at all we might as well reduce it as much as possible) and same for everything below 460.

After cutting it, I was left with a recording of (mostly) only the morse code.

Decoding the morse code

Of course, I tried to do it the lazy way and punched the thing into a software which is supposed to be able to get morse code from recordings, CwGet. Did not work though, the thing is like REALLY old so I'd recommend searching another one. The only thing it DID grab correctly was 'is sacred im coming' but besides that it was just... bs.

SO, I had to do it myself.

Now, I won't bore you with all of the stuff where I wasn't sure about something and had to go over it over and over again, but one thing I do want to mention is that, in a very specific part, I did the filtering thing again, this time with 465 and 475 Hz though, and got an even cleaner result out of that. BUT, the more you do that the quieter the whole thing gets so I had to crank up the volume everywhere all the way. You hear it more clearly but it's quieter.

The following is, of course, not completely guaranteed to be true, but it sounds like the most logical one to me. I read somewhere that the Hogwarts house isn't what you are, but what you would like to be (example Neville, wasn't brave at all but eventually became that since it was his dream). So, the question is, while she is definitely ambitious and curious, if she'd rather be successful (in her case, getting rid of the ancient magic) or knowledgeable. She loves learning about cultures and the magical world, but her ancient magic is always gonna be a priority.

So... Slytherin?

Hey so you seem to have ten thousand OCs and I need to ask someone this so might as well ask the expert:

My OC Leandra's ancient magic is different. If she doesn't use it up, it causes a huge abrupt burst and endangers the people around her. Long story short, she HATES it and her main goal is to get rid of it.

Which house would she be in? I'd say it's between Slytherin and Ravenclaw. Slytherin because she's basically willing to do anything to reach her goal of getting rid of her magic, Ravenclaw because she's also curious and reads for fun and wants to know all about the magical world (one of the motives being that she can get rid of her magic)

Hello! Sorry for the late reply—I had to really think about it pretty much all day to figure out which house Leandra should be in, but I finally decided. I think the best house for her is Slytherin because she truly has all the qualities that fit that house.

What really surprised me is that she doesn’t want her Ancient Magic. All of my MCs actually do want to embrace their Ancient Magic, but I completely understand why Leandra doesn’t. I actually like that about her—it’s powerful character depth.

I really like the way you’ve written it too, how she doesn’t use her Ancient Magic but it can still burst out of her, especially when she’s overwhelmed—and that can hurt the people around her. That makes it even more understandable why she wants to get rid of it. It’s actually a good thing that she’s so aware and doesn’t want to harm anyone. So yeah, I definitely see why she wants to be free of it.
