I find it kinda funny that ppl characterize Raven as an anti social emotional loner that hates ppl when that’s legit the opposite of her character lol
Hypothetical dark academia novel in which instead of the crazed obsession being death, it is birth. Imagine a group of teenage girls drunk on the power they have to create life. They consider themselves gods. They drink wine, have bacchanals, and eat fruit in mossy caves on Sunday mornings. They gather every day before school to review the latest scientific discoveries over orange-peel tea. They write plays and raise their voices in excitement over new plot devices and marvel at the endless possibilities they have. The girls are avid feminists; they write essays and speeches about femininity and gender roles. They romanticize Renaissance women. They show up to school in all black, dress shirts rolled up to the elbow, hair in elaborate braids. Imagine the romances, the scheming, the poetry, the art, the speeches, the projects, the philosophical ramblings, the wide-eyed wonder and subsequent ambition.

Hey Josie, do you know any comics similar to SnotGirl? I’ve read both volumes of Snotgirl, Papergirl, Motor Crush, and Heavy Vinyl. Do you have any suggestions? 💋
lumberjanes !! lots of lgbt (seriously, 2 or more lesbians, a trans girl, a nb kid too) main characters. it’s very warm and fun, and it reminds me of gravity falls honestly!! just a bunch of kids at camp in the woods, trying 2 earn their patches and defeating monsters along the way (& also pissing off their camp instructor)
bingo love! started out as a webcomic on tumblr, turned into a comic that now has physical copies out in stores. about two black wlw who come from disapproving families and have an amazing love story. talks about the hardships of dealing with your sexuality when you have children, too.
the backstagers ! more lgbt kids/teens, this time its more about mlm who are in theatre i’m pretty sure!! i havent actually read this one yet but i want to pick it up soon
moonstruck - again, i haven’t actually read this one and i probably won’t (not my style honestly!) but it is a favorite among wlw on here especially due to it’s witchy themes!! :)
giant days !!!!! ive been meaning 2 read this for FOREVER and it follows three girls who go to university and become best friends! i’m 90% sure theres some lgbt/wlw stuff in it too
none of these are really thematically like snotgirl, and you probably won’t find a lot more comics that are like it because snotgirl is pretty much one of a kind, but all of these comics r super duper good and follow the indie/weird trend.
also, in case you didn’t know, snotgirl #11 comes out on august 8th and it’s supposed to be very gay.
if you need any more recs the blogs @dailyindiecomics and @lgbtincomics are where i always find mine :00
Tooth fairies are a smaller and friendlier subspecies of the larger and much more hostile bone fairies.
Even a small backyard can provide safe, healthy habitat for bees so they can pollinate the flowers, crops, and trees that support life on earth.
Create a custom bee garden with wildflowers native specifically to your area:
Choose native wildflowers with blossoms of varying sizes and shapes in bee-friendly colors (blue, purple, violet, white, and yellow), and select plants with varied bloom times to support different bee species.
Plant in 3- to 4-foot-wide color blocks of the same species.
Keep your garden pesticide-free.
Mow meadow areas only once each year, when flowers are dead or dormant, and mow in a patch pattern, alternating the areas mowed each year.
Mow lawn areas with a high blade setting so native violets and clover can flourish.
Provide overwintering habitat for bees by allowing dead stems to stand in your gardens until plants begin to grow again in spring.
You can also provide nesting and egg-laying habitat for bees:
Leave an area of bare dirt where ground-nesting bees can tunnel.
Provide stem bundles of bamboo, teasel, or common reed as shelter for wood-nesting bees (mount the bundles firmly, facing the morning sun and sheltered from wind and rain under the eaves of a house or shed, and make fresh stem bundles each year).
Create the nooks and crannies favored by cavity-nesting bees with an easy do-it-yourself project—a bee block.

A collection of watercolor paintings for illustration class 💙 The assignment was to create a series of conceptual illustrations so each of these has a word related to them. So, respectively, I picked the words Hope, Poisonous, Judgement and Insomnia!
