I headcanon that (or for this AU thing): Michael was born on 1967. was hired into the institute around 1987 (age 20) was thrown into the spiral around 2010 (age 43) while Gerry was born on 1986 Eric dies on 1988 (Gerry was 2 y/o) Mag 35 (2002) happens when Gerry was 16. Mary binds herself to the book when Gerry was 22. The current year for them is 2015, so Gerry is currently 29 while Michael is 48. (For this AU thing they meet months before Michael was thrown into the distortion. so, Michael would be around 43 while Gerry was 24.)
