Hey...
i know your heartbeat
Messy redraws/doodles of Young Justice (1998) comic panels bc they’re funny
Bonus, my fave images on planet earth:
the batman brainrot. idk if this has been (drawn) done before but another hc they def do this at some point of their life (maybe a routine before going around gotham)
Physical: I say this with love but he is one of those awkward teens who's faces look like they're ten but their limbs are like limp spaghetti noodles. Has an ongoing zit on his chin that ligit no-one notices but he's convinced it's the size of Kentucky. His eyes are big and puppy-dog looking, and when he's focused they get really wide and his button nose scrunches up. His eyes are really light blue, to the point where if the light hits them they look purple. His skin is pale and burns easily, but instead of looking supernatural it just looks weird since he has dry skin half the time. He is 5'1 for most of his teens, only getting a growth spurt when he hits 17 that leaves him at 5'5. His hair is pin straight but thick enough to tangle. He barely uses gel for his civilian identity, but drowns himself in it for Robin, making it into spikes. He's trying to make himself more intimidating, but he's instead he looks like Sharkboy from Sharkboy and Lavagirl. When he was 15 someone asked if he was in middle school yet and he just nodded blankly.
Mental: Tim Drake was the first character I have ever headcannoned as autistic. He was a weird little kid, but people just thought he was being stuck up and a know it all. When he was in third grade he had a sensory overload in the middle of class, and the counselor suggested he get tested for Aspergers (bc at that time that was what they would have called it) Janet was all for it, but Jack refused, saying that Tim was "Too smart to be a r*tard"
Janet gave in, but also researched how to help an autistic child. She was away a lot though, and since Tim didn't have an IEP he continued to struggle. He was often told that his stimming was disruptive, so he had to learn to stop doing it. When he was first starting out as Robin he was really happy about catching a criminal on his own for the first time, and he forgot himself and started bouncing on the balls of his feet and flapping his hands a little. He was mortified when Bruce noticed, but the next day there was a fidget toy sitting on the case files he was supposed to review with a note from Bruce saying he thought he might like it. Tim nearly hyperventilated with excitement and had to breathe into a paper bag. Bruce was concerned. Eventually, when Bruce gained legal guardianship over Tim he got him tested, and eventually diagnosed. There was an IEP, but it only really included letting him stim in class since Tim didn't want learning accommodations or counseling. Mostly the diagnosis was just a confirmation of what they already knew. Other than Autism, he is an anxious baby. Not just in a "Cute uwu shy baby" way though, he once threw up from nervousness after he thought he had disappointed Bruce. I think he's always had depression, but it only really flared up after Kon died. And of course, all the bats have PTSD of some sort.
Other: This is included in one of my fics, but I think the stuffed koala bear we see hidden under his bed in that one comic panel with his father is called BamBam. He got it shortly after the flying Grayson's deaths, when he first saw Batman swooping down to save Dick. He tried to say Batman but he had a lisp and the nanny heard BamBam so that was that. He is a serial clothing stealer. He was too shy to take any of Bruce's clothing at first, but he was given a tee-shirt as pajamas when he was staying over for one of the first times (before he moved there) and Bruce never got it back. If he had been questioned about it he would have said he forgot, and that would have been a lie. Bruce didn't mind, the shirt came down to his knees and looked adorable. Soon after that he gave Tim an old sweater of his that had "Shrunk in the wash, strangely enough. I guess the water temperature must have malfunctioned." It was still too large on him. It fell halfway down his thighs and the sleeves completely covered his hands.
neurodivergent battinson doodles
tim and damian as siblings who are both autistic but almost always have completely different, polar opposite sensory needs.
they’re out shopping and tim is like ‘come over here and feel this shirt’ and damian puts one finger on it and his entire face scrunches up with repulsion.
damian’s room is designed with the perfect ratio of lighting & noise-muffling walls for decompressing while drawing, but within like a half hour of hanging out, tim has to leave and go put on nine different audio sources at once because he’s so understimulated.
tim lights a cantaloupe-scented candle in his room because it sparks joy and damian can’t be within a 20 foot radius of his door without getting a headache.
damian goes out into the woods to hike for like 3 hours and comes back refreshed and more tolerant than usual, but if you leave tim outside without any bugspray for longer than 10 minutes he’s not going to leave the house for like 3 days afterwards.
this dichotomy is so reliable that if dick tries to seek out help from one regarding the sensory needs of the other, it almost always fails miserably. jason decides to also ask and instead just do the opposite of whatever advice they give, which ends up working remarkably better.

Damian is much better with animals than he is with people, and they’re much easier to understand.
Damian isn’t uncaring for animals, but it’s easier to express care for animals, he often stops patrolling to take in animals off the streets of Gotham
Bruce is very (not) annoyed by this, he pretends he hates the cat hair all over the manor and the cave but he actually loves it
Damian has a cow, three dogs (ace Titus and firefly), the bat cow, Goliath, Alfred the cat that he calls pennyworth like the actual Alfred, jerry the turkey, and Nicholas the Maine coon (a very large cat)
He loves pressure, Titus and ace laying across him as he sleeps is one his biggest comforts and easiest ways to calm him down, he hates other peoples hugs most times, so pressure from his pets his always best.
He took in jerry and the turkey during the first thanksgiving the entire family spent together, Alfred was originally going to serve him for dinner and made sure that Tim and dick kept Damian out all day so he wouldn’t adopt the bird (Alfred failed)
Damian loves the cave, he loves to train and just hide out in there, there’s so many dark and cold corners no one can see him in
He hides in the corners and rafters of the cave with noise canceling headphones on, sometimes listening to his favorite music as he reads, he reads books he stole from Jason or learns new languages.
Dick once found him up there and didn’t let Damian know he was there, he didn’t want to intrude on his personal space and just left, letting Bruce know Damian was safe in the manor
Damian wasn’t allowed to stim in the league but after years he finally feels safe enough to stim in front of other people.
He flaps his hands when he’s happy and not with the pets, when he’s with his pets he rubs his hands through his fur. Damian also likes snapping stims.
He doesn’t bounce when he’s happy but he rocks back and forth happily while flapping.
One of his favorite noises are bird noises, he likes their caws and coos and recreating them are some of his favorite vocal stims.
he only vocal stims with Jon, because Jon doesn’t care, he just smiles at him with that weird look in his eye Damian doesn’t know how to place.
Jon is damians favorite non animal pressure, he’s the only he actually likes hugging him. Jon always asks and Damian mostly always says yes, because Jon knows the exact right pressure. He squeezes just tight enough, Damian loves it.
Jon also always indulges his hyperfixations, Damian can rant for hours about his favorite animals and bugs, as well as listen to Damian test his new languages. (Since moving into the manor he’s learned Japanese, Spanish and mandarin)
Jon sends Damian pictures of every animal he sees and every bug on trees at his school, he also always replies to Damian as soon as possible. (He’s gotten in trouble many times at school)
Damian sometimes feels like he’s failed his father, because he never take up the mantle of the Batman, the greatest detective, when he doesn’t understand people.
Damian always feels failed whenever he sees his dad solve a cause, especially when he talks to people, how he can always tell when their lying, Damian never can, unless he knows them well enough.
Damian can solve mysterious on paper, but he never feels like it’s enough to be the greatest detective. Jon tells him he doesn’t have to be the next Batman, and even if he does, it’s so far away he shouldn’t worry about it just yet, and just to be content with being Robin
It takes Damian a while to just let himself be Robin instead of worrying about being good enough to be Batman
Damian takes up baking with Steph and Cass when Cass is stressed out, it’s calming to help them bake and talk while everything cooks
Damian slowly learns that he doesn’t have to force himself to make eye contact, that’s it’s okay to speak to father while tangling his fingers and staring at his feet, he won’t be seen as weak.
Just Damian being autistic cus he’s my new comfort character and I’m autistic
gettin full-named and receiving psychic damage
other actors: I sent live rats to my costars and drank sewage water bc I’m a method actor
rpatz: I played sonic everyday —but only the dark version— to really get in the headspace
i just really love to draw nightwing in jackets

the only thing you need to know about the batman movie is that this bruce is dumb enough, emo enough, and guilty enough to adopt an acrobatic orphan and think it’s absolutely the right decision
i've connected the dots
🌈
i’m thinking about that scene near the beginning of into the spider-verse where mary jane is delivering her eulogy for spider-man to an assembled crowd and some people are wearing his mask / costume, including miles, and the camera pans over their faces with miles in centre frame while MJ says, “we all have powers of one kind or another. but in our own way, we are all spider-man,” and then the camera focuses in on miles and she says, “and we’re all counting on you.” and it’s just *chef’s kiss* bc the storytelling! the cinematography! the symbolism! single-handedly revived the medium of animation
I made the first page so long ago but hey, I finished.
I have nothing to say except I think Grudgby Jock x Cheerleader lumity is cute…💜💜
Okay I’ve said this a bunch in my tags and to some friends, but Dick Grayson’s temper is unironically my favorite thing about his character
You’re probably thinking “Lucy that’s insane why would you love the thing he’s most ashamed of???” and let me tell you my dear friends, it’s because bad anger issues is the PERFECT foil to all of Dick’s positive traits
Dick is very outwardly perfect. He’s kind and polite to everyone he meets, he very easy going and laid back, he’s funny and insanely charming, he’s handsome and can basically befriend any one. So him having a really bad temper clashes HARD with the rest of his character traits
Dick can jump from 0 to 100 real quick when he’s angry, and his anger problems were always something he struggled to over come and had a lot of different ways to keep himself grounded so he didn’t snap at people
Most of the time it was pacing, doing gymnastic moves, removing himself from the situation if he knew he couldn’t handle it without blowing up
He’s also broken a lot of thing. The panel of him braking his car radio lives in my mind rent free.
Dick as always been an explosive character, so it would make sense that his flaws would also be explosive! The intensity of his rage always matched the intensity of the other ways he expressed himself, and think when they stopped making it so prevalent in his character he became a lot blander.
So basically what I’m saying is; DC give Dick his feral rage back!!! He’s not the same without it!!!
i found it cute that damian seems to typically sit at the head of the table (and bruce has to sit off to the side), but when dick’s visiting, he chooses to sit next to him.

Local skate kids that trip into sewers too much
i love this so much for so many reasons and i could go on a tangent about how it’s great to see an older musician who had to hide being gay bonding with a younger one who is open and proud but like, my mind is so melted at the costumes lmao
